What amazing and freshly prepared food! I got a to-go order as it was Christmas day, so wanted to take home. Let me tell you-I was originally headed elsewhere but the beautiful aroma as I passed by on the street made me turn my car back around and try this spot for the first time! (I have driven by but always too late to stop and enjoy)! I had Malabar Fish Curry, Samosa Chaat, and Fresh, tender garlic naan and it was all so flavorful! Their chutneys are amazing as well-everything was completely delicious and are all at amazing price points! Definitely coming back for a full sit-in dinner! F for one of the worst most unfriendly service ever I've ever had. the cashier man treated me with no regard despite me being friendly and very patient for my very delayed to go order. Didn't say anything to acknowledge how super slow they were despite me being the only customer in there. And didn't apologize or say thanks for waiting etc. Dude just handed me my food without a word as if I was bothering him. I don't want to hand my hard earned money over to a jerk for food that isn't worth the attitide. I do not recommend this restaurant. Stopped here on our way back from Tacoma. This was the closest one we could find on Yelp while we were on I-5. When we stopped, it was time for an early dinner. This place was just getting ready for the evening business. No customers at the point. We got a comfortable corner booth. There are no menus; have to scan the QR code to access the online menu. We ordered Street Style Noodles, Malabar Fish Curry, Masala Dosa and chai. They informed us about the wait time as they have to prepare the food fresh and we were fine with that. They served the food in around 20 minutes. The Dosa arrived first, followed by the Noodles and the Fish curry. The Dosa served with the chutneys and sambar was delectable. Malabar fish curry surprised us. Rarely that flavor is rightly picked. This was spot on and along with the rice served - quite appetizing as well. The noodles didn't disappoint either. Fresh from the pan - picked the right flavors of Indian Street style. In short a great dinner for us. Really enjoyed it. We stopped here without any expectations and walked out quite happily. Absolute mess. Was told menu on the wall is. It the real menu, must scan the QR code once you are in restaurant. Several items listed on the menu online are not ACTUALLY available if you are ordering for pickup. When asked about the dishes they were either "savory and sweet" or "sweet and savory" (I kid you not). Another Indian customer came in and the employee argued with him about what the menu claimed when he ordered online vs. what the customer was being told when he picked up, so I know it wasnt just us. Good flavor was just ok. There are some atypical items I wouldn't mind going back to try but honestly I get anxiety just thinking about the confusion and menu situation just thinking about it. read more

Best chicken biryani I've ever had! Still thinking about it weeks later. Huge portions too!

We came here because the Ikea restaurant closed early and we read the other rave reviews about the biryani here. Turns out the Ikea closure was a blessing in disguise because the biryani here is not only the best biryani we've had but perhaps one of the best rice-based dishes we've had across all cuisines. We ordered the 65 chicken biryani, the chicken tandoori kebab and onion dosa. Everything was delicious. I probably would try the plain dosa next time but otherwise very happy with the food. The kebab was very flavorful and especially nice on the sizzling platter. Dosa came with coconut and tomato chutney. The coconut one was very mild but the tomato one had excellent flavor. It was enough food to feed the four of us with a bit of leftover to take home. The server was nice and patient as we took some time to decide on the order. Restaurant vibe is casual and friendly. Masthi Indian Cuisine - 5 STARS If I could give this place 6 stars and a standing ovation while holding a samosa in each hand, I would. Let's talk about the 65 Biryani. I don't know what the "65" stands for, but I'm assuming it's the number of flavor bombs that went off in my mouth. This biryani didn't just feed me--it spiritually awakened me. I was halfway through the dish when I started hearing tabla drums and questioning every life decision that led me to eat bland food before this moment. Then there was the kebab meat platter. I don't want to say it changed my life, but I did start making better choices immediately afterward. The meats were juicy, seasoned like someone's grandmother had a direct line to the divine spice realm, and grilled to perfection. I wept. Silently. Like a proud father watching his child graduate... from Meat University. And ohhhh the paneer saag. That dish rolled up to the table like royalty. One bite in, I blacked out and had a vivid dream of cows and spinach dancing together in harmony. I came to with naan in my hand and joy in my heart. It was creamy, savory, and deeply soulful--as if the chef infused it with the essence of every Bollywood love story ever made. Service? Super friendly. Ambiance? Casual but cozy. Food coma? We also got idli for kid which was good. Food is slightly on spicier side (for those who want to mild it may convey, but we liked it this way). Once a month my work team gets together to celebrate birthdays, milestones and/or just to hang out. The choice landed on me in January 25' as it's my work anniversary. Renton/Tukwila is our central meeting point. With so many options in the area it's hard to choose. Most of my team is adventurous so we like to try out new places. Masthi has been open for about 7-8 months in this location at the time. It's close enough to IKEA to walk to and parking is decent. Walking in you are greeted with smiles and friendly faces as well as bright and vibrant decor. Since there is 10 of us we called ahead and our table was ready and waiting. Most everyone ordered butter chicken and naan. I ordered the Presidents' Day Special which was Tandoori chicken, rice, garlic naan with a side of butter sauce and halva. When I say this was delicious I MEAN THIS WAS DELICIOUS! The smokiness and spices of the tandoori chicken was outstanding. The butter sauce was so creamy, warming and scrumptious (honestly dipped my naan in it several times!) and would order a vat of it if I could. The halva was earthy and just the right amount of sweetness. My team enjoyed their dishes and said we should come back or that they would come back. The food was decent, but the website is deceptive. The website shows pictures of another restaurant, not the one in Renton. Furthermore, the website, display quotes from supposed reviews that look like they're AI/computer generated, such as referring to "burgers" and "brunch" when those things clearly didn't exist at this Indian restaurant. The website is also inconsistent in that it allows one to choose a vegetarian option for the 555 Biryani Combo if you order it for delivery, but if you order it for pick up, then there's no vegetarian option. I decided to call in the order, and I was told that it would be a 25 minute wait, which seemed a bit long for 2:42pm on a Sunday. read more

Finally a good south Indian restaurant in Renton/Kent with authentic Hyderabad Biryani's. We had a take out from this restaurant, We tried the Chicken, Egg 65 and Paneer 65 biryani's. It was the perfect balance of spices and tender pieces cooked to perfection. The flavors were rich, authentic, reminiscent of traditional biryani's of Hyderabad. They can go easy with the red coloring on the meat / paneer. overall it's a must try if you are a fan of biryani's, I look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu. read more

Best Indian food I've had in the Seattle area. Great variety on the menu, south Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes most places unfortunately don't serve. The dishes every Indian menu has were 'the best versions of those dishes'. The meal was perfectly cooked and executed. Pricing was fair, portions were good. The service was great. She was attentive enough but not intrusive. We had cold water and I had a chai and it was delicious. We ordered butter chicken and chicken tikka masala and they were amazing. The rice was also delicious and smelled so good. We also ordered vegetables pakoda and they were perfectly fried and just what we wanted. Will come back! The ambience was good as well. We were travelling for a tournament and were craving Indian food. (Note we are Indian from Vancouver,BC). This restaurant came up closest in maps, so we thought to give it a go. We dined in. We order chai x2 and med-veg pakora, masala dosa, butter chicken and naan. The utensils were dirty. My chair came in a dirty cup around the rim. I had to ask the server to exchange the cup. I received chai in another cup labeled "Rosysbeautyparlour". The tea tasted old and just heated up in a microwave. I informed the server who didn't seem to care too much. We didn't drink the chai. The pakora was single stringy dry onions deep fried that we couldn't even eat as it tasted disgusting. Again I let the server know, no difference. The masala dosa and butter chicken tasted ok, hence the 2 stars. I would have given 0. Server did not come back at all after food was served to table. After we finished I went to cash register to pay. After much discussion, the took off the pakora from the bill as we did not touch or eat that. It was horrible and dry with disgusting mint chutney. Never again will I eat here again nor recommend it. The place was filthy with tables and carpets stained and dirty. The food/service is not worth the price. Made us appreciate the Indian food and restaurants in Vancouver more. read more

This new opening on Sandpoint Way is really welcome. The service was impeccable, polite, and non-intrusive. The food: My guest and I each had a different curry with garlic naan bread. The two curries were beautifully presented with dry, fluffy rice. It was an excellent meal, and I will be going back there often. Next time I will explore further into the very extensive menu with he different dishes, curries and cultural regional foods. It has just opened, so some of the decor is still being installed, but the food and the service are truly 5-star.
