We finished a very gratifying visit to the Jimi Hendrix museum and left it to our colleagues to choose lunch. They ended up consulting yelp which led us to Naan -N- Curry, in Renton. The service here was terrific for us. They even educated us on some of the differences between Pakistani and Indian cuisine. It was a carry-out only for us. The food was hit or miss with me. The Biryani was alright but nothing I would ever order. What I sampled was way too spicy for me and just not my flavour. The kabob were some of the best I've tasted in this city, especially the lamb. Top notch. The Lamb Nihari was very tender, as was the Keema (with peas). The star of the show today was the Haleem. Call it a Pakistani porridge consisting of slow cooked spiced mutton, lentils and barley. A true delicacy! The place is quite pricey, even for the Seattle area. The portions are larger. We ordered a latcha paratha ($4.99) and got the one you see on the plate which was definitely not made from scratch and not wahr a real flaky and layered latcha paratha is supposed to look like. - see the frozen ones in the package above the plate. It is just the same but the whole package of costs $4.99. Very disappointing! Rest of the food was great! Tasty and the spice levels were also spot on. WOW WOW WOW Take Out ONLY at the time of the review. I was at a shop nearby and they told me I HAD to try Naan-N-Curry! I havnt had really any Indiana and that's because of not having a good recommendation. I was torn between Tikka masala or Vindaloo Since I've had Timka she recommended I try Vindaloo, oh my lawrd!!! Drooling! Not only was she kind when I ordered and so helpful it came out really fast! It came with rice and garlic Naan and I ordered a Mango Lassi. I still think of those potatoes. The Mango Lassi was gone in two seconds. It was incredible. I need to come back and I would bring east coast friends here!! At the time I went there was no seating and it was just a 15 minute wait so check about seating inside but might be worth it to do take out. I've heard a lot about Naan n Curry and I wanted to check it out. They have this location in Renton and another one in Issaquah and currently they're doing take-out only. DUM BIRYANI LAMB ($17.99) - this is their most popular dish so I definitely had to get it. The portions were massive but I thought there could've been more lamb (it was very tender though). I thought it was good and standard. 4/5 TIKKA MASALA CHICKEN ($16.99) - they have the option for white or dark chicken; I chose the latter and I think it was the way to go. It was thick and sweet and went really well with the saffron rice. Note that it doesn't come with rice so you'll have to order it separately. 4.5/5 SAFFRON RICE ($3.25) - it's pretty much what is used in the biryanis as it's also cooked with saffron and spices. 4/5 GARLIC NAAN ($2.99) - this was just okay as I thought it could've used more garlic. 3/5 For the biryani and the curry you can choose your spice level from 0 to 4. I asked for level 2 but the two labels had "s1" on them so I think they got the spice level wrong? If these were actually level 1, it's not very spicy and I'd probably do 2 next time. If these were actually level 2, it's not as spicy for a "medium" as I thought and would go to level 3. This is a pretty good Indian restaurant and the dishes were flavorful. read more

The saffron rice (5/5 stars) was the best saffron rice I have ever had in my entire life! The palek paneer (3.5/5) was fairly average, but I would eat it again the next time I was here. The naan (3/5) and garlic naan (3/5) were unfortunately less impressive - they nailed the crispy brown spots and it was the right texture, but the flavor was a lacking - it tasted a lot like white bread. The aloo gosht (5/5) was good and the lamb in it was incredibly tender! I'd come back if I was in the area for lunch but it wasn't worth the 60 minute drive unfortunately. read more

It was kind of lacking in flavor and chicken was kind of over cooked. I thought may be today's order would be good. I ordered samosas, vegetable biryani and a chicken tikka roll. Overall I am kind of disappointed. I will give my rating below for each dish but will give an explanation here as in why I didn't like it. Samosas were decent. No complaints there. The roll was mediocre. It was given to me all deconstructed and even after I constructed it, it wasn't that good. The biryani quantity is enough for 2 people. I tried Naan-n-Curry after reading reviews and recommendations from Indian colleagues. I had the eggplant (Bengun Bharta). I ordered four stars and with plain naan. The flavors were very mild almost bland. The dish normally has a smoky flavor but this was cooked out and needed some proper seasoning. It had a thick covering of oil which I poured off but that's a lot of mustard seed or ghee for no reason. The naan was supposed to be freshly made but was too perfectly shaped and lacking in that tanginess you get from the yogurt. After 15 years of traveling to India and enjoying the cuisine as a vegetarian, I was disappointed. It will take a lot to get me to try it again. read more

The place has no ambiance or friendly service but they are efficient. So efficient that before I could complete my check formalities, my table was cleaned for the next customer!! Folks..... Naan-N-Curry is special. The chicken/lamb kabob rolls (I'm not sure if that's the official name) are my go-to for lunch. After moving back to Seattle area after 6 years, first stop was at Naan N Curry (but, we went to Issauqah one which was not there when we used to live here). After almost 4 months, we decided to pay the Renton outlet a visit. Got the following : Lamb Seekh Kebab- Excellent but, slightly on bland side. Balti Ghosth- My favorite dish but, I felt the one at Issauqah is little better. Lamb Biryani- Not sure if they serve Goat which I would prefer over lamb. This was very good as usual. This is the best Indian - Pakistani North Indian food in the greater seattle area in my opinion over the last 15 years. Their biryani, and actually all entrees are just fresh and have an amazing taste profile. They make their masala fresh at the restaurant. Their fish sizzler was one of the best desi sizzler ever had. Because they don't skimp on quality , the food may seem expensive. Also, they don't cater at a different rate. It's the same entree that they will put in a tray and you have to pick up. Price is a tad bit higher than other Indian places but the taste more than makes up for it. I have tried multiple dishes and they never disappoint. Recently tried the Chicken Kheema and Chicken Biryani. Both were great tasting, the Kheema portion was a bit small. Their biryani is nice and flavorful with a hint of fragrance. Portion size of the biryani is pretty good. Now for some reality. All that great taste is due to a helpful serving of oil and ghee. Kheema was literally dripping in oil. Don't expect this to be a low calorie food joint. For certain, it won't be featuring on any weight loss food kits. Spend an extra day in the gym if you're gorging here. I accidentally order from the Renton location on UBER EATS or DOORDASH. Regardless, I only realized it was from the OG location when and after I ate my food and just sealed back what little left overs I kept for myself (it was hard not to demolish it all!) when I saw the professional sticker on each container showing RENTON. The flavors were outstanding, though the portions on some of the dishes are on the smaller side, they pack all the flavor! The butter chicken is so creamy, it's amazing. My favorite Indian place of all time. Hands down. I absolutely love this restaurant. It is perfectly authentic, the service is great, and the food is indescribably delicious. I come here every chance I get. I came here for the first time with a group of coworkers for a team lunch. Several of my coworkers were originally from India and they said Naan and Curry was the best, most authentic Indian food around. They were right. My team even said that although the partner overseeing our project is incredibly busy, when we schedule a meeting at Naan and Curry, he's always the first to RSVP. I've come here with my family a few times since and it never disappoints. All the dishes we've had are amazing. We're talking incredible flavor. Our favorite is the butter chicken, it's a classic, you have to get it. We also loved the Balti Gosht (a sort of lamb curry?). The garlic naan and jasmine rice are amazing too. By the end of the meal we were practically licking the bowls. The restaurant is unassuming but pleasant. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. Take out only when I picked up dinner a few days ago. This was the most authentic "home made" type of chicken biryani and haleem I have tasted in the entire USA in the past decade. I avoid most "desi" restaurants because they tend to "TexMex" desi food. I am not sure how I get to eat here again as I live on the East coast. This is one of our go to places for Indian/Pakistani food in the Seattle area. Over the years we have tried a lot of their dishes and have our favorites that we go back for. We usually order the Malai boti kebab, Lamb kheema with peas, and tandoori roti. Sometimes we also get biryani(we like their lamb biryani better than the chicken). This time, we were with a bigger group, so we also ordered paneer tikka masala, both lamb and chicken biryani. As usual, the Malai boti kebab, and lamb kheema were really good. The biryani was good, the one complaint I always have is they do not serve raita with biryani, you have to order raita if you want it. The paneer tikka masala was too sweet for me. read more
