Is it the nicest tennis facility in the region? No, but it is the friendliest and most fun. The leagues, instruction by the pros and pick up games are all with like minded tennis addicts, and super enjoyable. USTA League teams have made it to Regionals, Sections and National championships! And the staff -- Donna, Bill, Val, Steph -- is the most accommodating, they are like family. There is racquetball facilities downstairs, and a full gym with weights because as Bill says, you have to stay strong to play tennis! AND they have a bar! So after a fun night of tennis, you can relax in the lounge with a Sam Adams or a Shock Top and a plate of pretzels... A day or evening of tennis at Orange Hollow really is one of the best parts of my day!

He was fantastic, taking us through a methodical intro of the broad essentials of the game with time for serving, dinking, and playing a game with guided instruction. I called the front desk and the staff were able to fit me in for a time slot that had openings. It's been a hot minute since I've been on Long Island; I had forgotten how deep Melville actually was...lol Literally on the border of Nassau and Suffolk. This location had a large parking lot that was shared with the other businesses adjacent. Inside, the courts feel pretty big, with plenty of room on the sides and back to maneuver and run for difficult shots. Court surfaces are smooth and well maintained and the facilities are very clean. Ceiling height was adequate for most lobs to be successful. People I played with were mostly friendly and competitive. One thing I was not expecting was how old the demographic here is; my estimate, the average age in that time slot I played in was 55-60. Nevertheless, this was a nice facility to play at. I don't know if I'll ever go back though because it's so far out of the way coming from Queens.

I was told I had to join in order to reserve the court. The courts were horrible and there was a clinic for young children going on so the noise was outrageous. It was a painful experience to play there. The desk was too busy on my way out and I forgot to end my membership. I had it on automatic pay. I called eventually and was told I had to write and email in order to cancel. I did so, and now I receive another monthly charge. I know I was stupid in signing up in the first place. Just know that this is not a place to play tennis and that there is a hard sales pitch to join.

I also participated in a group open pickleball session and the participants (all local I think) were most welcoming. I got a good gym workout in too.
