I had an absolute fun time bowling, but that was it. Attempted to order another game, my party and I were told that there was a 2 hour wait. We proceed to check the site, there was an opening in 30 minutes and an hour. We order the lane for the next time slot, the payment processes, the service desk tells us they don't have it. Now, we're attempting to dispute and they won't settle or return the money. In addition, when going in the bar, there were no menus, or drink menus of any sort. We sat at the bar, awaiting to be served, to no one tending to us. We then see a worker and asked for a drink menu, or menu in general, we were advised there weren't any, then to be told we'll be tended to shortly, after 10 minutes of sitting at the bar already. We ended up leaving after a great game unfortunately. I wish there were other decent bowling options in the area, or I knew of others, because for a first time, things were great, until it was game over. If you want to go bowling, check it out, unless you can find something closer and better, and don't expect the greatest customer service, and I would refrain from using their website from any kind of reservations.

Chapter 3: NEVER AGAIN!!!! I'm sure this is an "awesome" bowling alley. But the owner is a pill. We got our deposit back. After being sent multiple texts being told we are harassing her. We were called names, and basically attacked for reaching out to her on the day SHE requested and dude not respond. Then when we were told the deposit is ready we were told they were going to take our photo picking it up. Not just sign a receipt and show a driver's license. We were told never to return and that we are should think about this. The counter girl is awesome though and said she would not take our photo because it's illegal and stupid. Chapter 2: the owner reached out and asked us not to attack them on Yelp. Said they are just too busy to respond to our texts/call. She told us she will let us know Tuesday we can pick up deposit. Tuesday came and we sent a text asking when to pick up. No response. At all. I understand you're a business and you're so busy. But your business is the customer. And so far it's not a good look. Chapter 1: Please please please give us our deposit back. We didn't sign a contract. We have gotten no response when we sent messages asking for a deposit back after a year

Thinking back to the last time I went bowling. I had a great time with friends. The food prices are reasonable, and we didn't have to wait to long to get it. I really liked the chicken fingers. The wings weren't bad.

The 8 of us were kicked out at 11pm because "the place was empty" & drafts were all $3-4.50.

I attended Wednesday night with a group of 8 people for their "Cosmic Bowling Special" which is a total joke. Their website says: "Laser Lights, Black Lights, and Runway Lights. Our Cosmic bowling lanes even glow in the dark during our Cosmic Bowling Events!" However the only things that made this "cosmic" bowling were the black lights and runway lit lanes. There were no Laser lights or anything making this experience any more spectacular than bowling in the dark. The website also said that the Cosmic bowling was from 9PM-12AM on Wednesday Nights. That it was a $5 admission, $1 shoe rentals, $1 games & $1 Drafts. When we arrived at about 9:30 the place was nearly empty except for one other group bowling. The people running this establishment were extremely rude and barely present. They gave us a hassle over putting 6 people on one lane. Saying that it would take an hour for a game that they were going to close early because it was empty. Excuse me? You're closing early on customers who paid your admission to get in for the 9-12 Cosmic Bowling? Yup, they sure did. They kicked us out by 11pm. The website also said $1 drafts which was a total lie, we all paid $3-4.50 per draft. When we asked to speak with the manager, they were nowhere to be found. The food wasn't spectacular. The Staff was rude. The Website was entirely false advertising. I absolutely do NOT recommend this establishment in the slightest. If you're looking for an enjoyable cosmic bowling experience I suggest you look elsewhere.

I came on a Saturday night and there was absolutely no wait for a lane! Games were $4.50 plus shoe rental was about $3. The quality of the lanes and balls were fine. The arcade is pretty good too. They have air hockey for $1 a game or mini bowling for $1 half a game. The mini bowling is even more satisfying than the regular bowling because you can get all your frustration out by destroying (not literally) the small pins. I didn't come to drink but there's decent looking sports bar inside too. It can be difficult to spot the bowling alley driving here. There's no markings except the small awning over the entrance.

My husband will eat anything. But he couldn't finish this grilled cheese. Said the cheese was "off".

Ugh. So annoying. We showed up with 8 people, got three games and shoes for $18 each. And they sell it to us before telling us all 8 of us will be on one lane. Gave mad attitude when we asked to have more than one lane even though they had blatant open lanes even on the reservation sheet. They also have this Ponzi scheme of a raffle where they have you buy a ticket, and then if you're picked they watch you bowl for four rounds and if you get at least 2 strikes THEN you win money. You only find that out of you ask. Sketchy......

Our "party host" was inattentive and much more interested in texting on her phone and eavesdropping on the police activity outside of the place than helping us. A party guest asked her for a wristband because there were not enough for all the kids, and she told the mother of the child to go get one herself from the front desk. She was asked repeatedly to bring plates, cups, etc but seemed like she couldn't be bothered. Finally brought plates after the guests had eaten cake off of napkins because she just disappeared. My husband asked the man behind the counter for plates and he rudely told him to "go ask the girl for that." Speaking of rude, a girl who I assume was a manager approached my husband and other party guests and chastised him because the pizzas and soda from our party were on another table meant for someone else's party. My husband explained that the party host put them there, but she continued to be nasty and she yanked our food and drinks off the table and took them away! The staff was completely rude and no one particularly looked like they wanted to be there. I'd much rather go somewhere more friendly and professional to spend my money. This place is a total bust.

First, the bartender was so lovely! I don't drink so I was truly impressed with the number of non-alcoholic beverage options available. I initially ordered a non-alcoholic drink, but then I saw the Shark Attack Mocktail and asked if I could switch to that. Thankfully I caught her right before she started making the first drink! The mocktail was sooo cute and actually really tasty! (See photo I included). I loved the theme of it, especially as summertime is officially here. Now let's talk about the arcade part of this place! The machines take quarters, so use the ones you have in your pocket! No quarters? No problem! They have a machine that will give you them, however it only accepts $1 and $5 bills. No cash? Also not a problem! They have an ATM on site. They really did think of everything, here! Most of the games are old skool, such as Pac-Man, Pinball, Dance Dance Revolution, etc. They also have a claw machine, however it's rigged so don't waste your time or quarters on it (which is exactly what I did, hahah!). Pac-Man is two players and my husband and I had a lot of fun with that one! I also LOVED Dance Dance Revolution (located in the far left corner in the back, behind the bar area) and wish I had found it before I wasted most of our quarters. Most of the games take anywhere from $0.50 to $1 to play, so keep that in mind. The patio is very large and much quieter compared to inside. I loved the atmosphere with all the string lights! They also have two little seating areas that are gated (which kind of look like adult playhouses?) which I think would be an awesome spot to chill with your friends + your dog. No fear of your pup running off! Regarding food: they do have a small menu, however it's mostly snack items like mozzarella sticks, a giant pretzel, things to that nature. What's cool, though, is that they offer vegan chicken nuggets!! Not a lot of bars have these, so it's definitely worth noting. 11/10 recommend that you stop in here while visiting Beacon! We absolutely loved it and would come back in a heartbeat!

It was founded by husband and wife Johnny Coughlin and Alyssa Follansbee. Coughlin is a cinematographer by trade while Follansbee is a public school art teacher. In 2011, the couple were both living in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. When the Emporium Arcade bar opened in their neighborhood, they both fell in love with the concept of an arcade bar. They later moved to New York City and visited as many arcade bars as they could with the intent to one day open one of their own. By 2018, the couple relocated upstate to Beacon to start a family. It dawned on them that Beacon would be a great location to open a "barcade". The couple didn't just want to open a place for adults to chase the nostalgia of their childhood, but rather a place that the whole family could enjoy. After securing a location on Main Street, and after a short delay from the COVID-19 pandemic, Happy Valley Arcade Bar finally opened to the public. I recently visited Happy Valley with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. I've loved arcade bars since the first time I visited a Barcade location in 2014. I love sipping on excellent craft beers while enjoying the classic arcade cabinets of my youth. I also appreciate it when arcade bars are family friendly, as both of my sons have also taken an interest in arcade games. We all enjoyed the interior of Happy Valley with all of the crazy colors and spaceship-themed decor on the walls. There was a decent selection of classic arcade cabinets as well as pinball machines, both of which kept my sons occupied for a while. In addition to a nice selection of craft beer on draught, the bar also offers wine, craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and various bar bites such as chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and mac 'n' cheese bites. There were also plenty of seating options both inside and outside. We had already eaten lunch earlier, but I was definitely in the mood for some tasty brews while I played some games. I first enjoyed a Thin Man Brewery's "Pills Mafia" (German Pilsner) followed by an Old Glenham Brewery's "Weaver's Pale Ale" [on cask]. Both of them were flavorful and refreshing. We ended up staying for over an hour; it was nice bonding time for my sons and me. We will definitely stop in again the next time we're visiting Beacon!
