I had the Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich while Mom again had the Sampler. Both were so BIG and delicious. Also, Door Dash, delivered quickly and with great service. Can't comment on the ambiance of the restaurant because again we are at home but if it's anything like the food you won't be disappointed.

RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 3 | Service: 3 | Ambiance: 3 | Price: 3 PARKING There was ample parking on all sides of the building. LOCATION/AMBIANCE It's just south of Walmart on the Lovington Hwy. The holidays are over folks. As much as I enjoy Christmas trees and old menus, please put them away or dispose of them already. Place could use better cleaning jobs. THE GRUB + Spicy Poblano Eggs Benedict (1/8/2024) $15.99... The English muffin was a bit crunchy on the bottom. The Poblano pepper was not spicy at all. The Hollandaise sauce tasted okay. There was very little red pepper, onion, and shredded beef. The hash browns were mostly undercooked for my liking but still edible with tons of pepper and a little salt. + Regular apple juice was good. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB That's why kids choose to go here - the kid's menu has happy face pancake combos with their choice of buttermilk or chocolate pancakes, bacon or sausage, and their style of egg. SERVICE On the slow side. Friendly. Just slow with everything to getting our order, drinks, food, and especially the tickets... Actually we went to the register to cash out because we had been sitting with dirty dishes for more than 15 minutes. MY FAVORITE PART... Breakfast served all day long + spending a rare weekday brunch with my daughters! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The wait. TIPS - We missed the Willy Wonka (new version in theaters right now) menu by one day, but it looked interesting and sugary. + Kids eat free daily 4PM-10PM. Restrictions apply.

*** enjoy pan dulce with your coffee in this super cute Hobbs, New Mexico-based Mexican café ***…read more The Coffee Shop had its grand opening a couple of days ago in Hobbs, NM. This has been a long time coming! I absolutely love how small and quaint this place is at the Hobbs Plaza (south of Albertson's Market). Brought to you by the same owners as What's the Scoop? which is the ice cream and chocolatier shop next door, this cafe also serves chips and salsa before your breakfast meal. That is, if you can score a table or a high-top chair at the bar! This place is already so popular. I had a meeting I was headed to so I got my order to go, but I would love to just sit and be served here. The staff members were all very kind. My French vanilla latte ($4.25) was creamy, but I still tasted the coffee! I also grabbed a cheesecake pastry as well as a pumpkin filled pastry with sugar on top. Both pastries came out to $5.98. I'm saving my pumpkin one for a midnight snack, but the cheesecake was no overly sweet. The bottom was just a bit overdone, but still really good. I only wish that they would have a QR code for the menu or a menu posted at the register. The menu was being passed around amongst the patrons that were there before me so I really didn't know what they offered for breakfast before I just settled on grabbing my own pastries from the self-serve area. Love the bright colors. The coffee. The vibes. Happy October! TIP + Their hours are Tuesday-Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 4.5| Price: 4.5

I had marked these GPS coordinates months ago, making a note that Rene Anthony's was notable the highest-rated restaurant on the long drive between Dallas and Tularosa, NM. But I began to doubt myself as glimpses through the thick fog revealed no civilization, nothing but empty fields. Was there really a restaurant out here open at 5:12 a.m. or did my typically methodical road trip research contain an error? And suddenly, there it was, an oasis of an eatery standing alone in an ordinary building on the south side of the highway surrounded by nothingness. I strolled into the small dining room filled with a dozen truckers waking up to a vivid discussion about the NFL. A city slicker seemingly out of place, I was welcomed with open arms and placed my dine-in order at the register. The only breakfast option was a lengthy list of breakfast burritos, a dish I don't normally enjoy. But this was different. Chef Anthony Sanchez is making magic here. Ordering the porky pig, a massive burrito absolutely stuffed with fresh chorizo, onions, and peppers, this is pure deliciousness in the middle of nowhere!

Meanwhile I was out for coffee and a hair dryer to keep at his house. Lol. Chiquita's turned out to be a blessing in disguise and a small business was supported! This little place is easily missed if you're not looking for it on the south side of Hobbs, NM, on Dal Paso St. MY FAVORITE PART... How hot & massive the foul-wrapped burritos were. Very filling. Chiquita's does not skimp on any ingredients. MY LEAST FAVORITE PART... They are open most days at 6AM, but close everyday at 2PM except Sundays. Sunday they are open from 7AM-1PM. THE GRUB + Asado, beans and rice. That's probably my favorite burrito in town! + They can do just about any burrito you request... one of my daughter's wanted sausage, egg and cheese. The other wanted bacon, egg and cheese. They were super yummy. The salsa is hot and spicy and comes in the small containers, but it's so good. TIP They have a drive-thru! They included some old-fashioned peppermints in our bag. My 7-year-old was not a fan of them. I've decided she's not my kid after all. Lol. Thanks, Chiquita's!
