After numerous failed attempts at teaching myself, I booked a private lesson with Colleen. Over the course of two hours, she taught me all about operating my machine, basic stitches, entry-level sewing tools, and I even made a drawstring bag! She was kind, patient, encouraging, and a FANTASTIC instructor. I can't wait to take some of her group classes!! The store itself is great. Lots of sewing supplies that are of higher quality and will last you a while. The people who work here couldn't be nicer or more helpful. If you feel intimidated by learning to sew, this is a perfect spot to start learning. Even if you're already a great sewer, you'll find everything you need here. They have a spacious section in the back where they teach group and individual classes; you can also rent a desk/machine if you need some higher end equipment to work with. Everything you need to make a quilt! The staff is knowledgeable, are willing to help you pick fabric colors to work for your quilt. The also have a long arm quilter- unsure if they offer quilting services at this time. These types of stores are getting quite very rare- I believe this is the only quilt store in the gorge for 60 miles- there is one in The Dallas (60 mile) and then Hermiston (176miles). Of course there is Portland, Lake Oswego and Vancouver Washington which wins for the most quilting stores in a single city!

Cut to today: they are my favorite yarn shop as a local. It's also the farthest from where I live so I don't get to visit as often as I would prefer. The shop is inviting and well laid out. The folks working there are friendly and helpful, and it's smack in the Alberta Arts District which is one of my favorite neighborhoods. Close Knit has a fantastic variety of yarns from basics to luxury ensuring that no matter your price point, you will find something delightful. They're one of the rare places that carries Noro Kureyon which is one of my favorite yarns and they offer it at a fair price compared to other yarn shops I've been to in the area. They are my go-to yarn shop for objective purchases and subjective yarn wandering. :)

Classic blue and white vases, gilded mirrors, luxurious pillows and throws, plus some occasional chairs, benches and tables. I particularly loved the gold and glass bar cart and all the barware! As you walk in you feel as if you are entering one's home with 3 connected rooms, each designed to showcase the delightful items within. One of the rooms is dedicated to their florist business and the flowers are so romantic! Peonies and roses were in abundance the day I visited. The houseplants were so unique! Trailing String of Turtles and the tiny leaves truly had markings of a sea turtle! Same with the beads of coins, string of hearts, and beads of dolphins. I want them all. Lots of gorgeous coffee table books dedicated to all things beautiful in your home and your garden. Any one of them would make a lovely gift. Hint, hint. I told my friend all I really wanted was a small box or dish for my nightstand that I could put my promise ring in. I am notorious for losing items and I definitely don't want to misplace a piece as important as my promise ring. We searched around the whole shop, which by the way is GORGEOUS, and didn't find anything like I was picturing. Just as we were heading out my friend was looking at some earrings and I spotted this box. For $21 I was over the moon with this purchase. It is so timeless and unique it was instant happiness. The owners of the store were so kind as well! I can't lie, my friend and I looked like bums walking in with our sweatpants and messy hair, but they treated us so kindly and wrapped the box meticulously for my travels back home! I would highly Recommend C Squared Quilting!…read more To start my husband recently passed away and one day someone suggested I make a quilt. That got my mind thinking, what a wonderful way to remember my husband and always have him close to me. I searched the internet for a couple days and it was like my husband helped me find Corrie. My husband's name is Craig and the name of the business was "C" squared. The website was easy to use and Corrie answered all my questions (and I messaged her a lot at first) she was kind, respectful of my loss and told me what to expect. I shipped my box of my husband's treasured Tommy Bahama Hawaiians( his signature look) and I knew the time frame and Corrie always kept me updated of what she needed to do and how long it would take. When the quilt was complete, she contacted me and asked me what I was doing that Saturday? She was going on vacation close to where I lived and would personally deliver it to me if I wanted her to (I couldn't say yes fast enough) The quilt was breath taking, it was handled with care and love. It was like she knew what I needed and it showed in every stitch and of course I cried as soon as I saw it and touched it. She went above and beyond what I ever expected and I could never thank her enough for helping me wrap my husband around me every night I fall to sleep. Also, before I forget. She also made a pillow for me with three special shirts. She made it so special and I will forever keep them with me where ever I go

Jessica, the owner, greeted me right as I walked in the door and let me wander around, picking up everything to smell from perfumes, hand soaps, candles, lotions, bath bombs, room sprays...I smelled it all and it was AMAZING. I love that she works with local PNW vendors for many of her products and has a huge assortment. I especially loved her fun signs - I am a complete sucker for signs and wish I could buy them all! She will even make custom signs for you which is a huge plus cause you'll get exactly what you want. The store has so many unique gifts for men, women and children. You will not be disappointed in this cute, boutique store! I've added a two pictures of three things I bought while there (not all that I bought) that are amazing and would buy again! The My Fave Sweater perfume, Lavender White Sage room spray and the Saltwater Mist candle are musts!
