The host gave me a glass of ice water, a heating pad for my neck, and the option of aromatherapy oils. My nail tech, Taylor was intuitive and friendly, sparking conversation in appropriate times while also allowing silence and relaxation. She took her time to ensure my pedicure was how I liked it, and didn't rush the process whatsoever. Over the past couple months I had two separate alarming experiences with Elements Massage, one here…read moreat Sandy, and one in Cottonwood Heights. Here I will describe only the experience I had with Sandy location. I was greeted by a young male therapist whose name I can't remember. I will edit this to add his name when I find that out because I feel the need to warn you not to go to him, especially if you are a woman. I requested a deep tissue massage and for the first 20 minutes my therapist used only one hand, extremely light pressure, and barely moved at all. He was touching my body lightly with one hand and I could hear him shuffling his other hand doing something else. It sounded like he was shaking his hand around or something and it was really disconcerting. I felt confused and unsafe with him. I asked him if he was ok and the shuffling sound immediately stopped. I asked him to increase pressure and he went from a level one pressure to a level beyond what I would consider deep tissue. It was painful in a way that felt it was going against the grain of my muscles as if he were not trained in how to open up the muscles through deep tissue, instead making my body tense up against his movements. Although I was in pain I could see that he was not going to be able to find a balanced approach so I decided I would rather endure the extreme pressure rather than hardly any pressure at all. So I encouraged him by saying "this feels better". Then he said "I'm enjoying myself too". I felt horrified when he said he was enjoying himself and I froze, not knowing what to say or do since I have PTSD due to a history of being sexually assaulted. All of this being said, I am very concerned with the two people Elements has hired who have mistreated me. Whoever this male therapist was who made this sexual comment to me needs to be reprimanded and I don't think he should be allowed to practice.

In the stone massage, they literally only massage you with the rocks. No hands. So it wasn't really as relaxing as we had hoped. We both had the 60 minute "Relax" massage with scalp add on and it was one of the BEST massage experiences I've ever had! My massage therapist was Jordan. I've never had a male massage therapist before so I was pretty nervous about it. But Jordan was extremely professional and did a great job of being respectful and putting me at ease. We talked about my preferences before he got started and he did an amazing job with the exact right amount of pressure and time focusing on problem areas. He had such a calming, peaceful presence and wonderful touch as well - truly was the most relaxing experience I've ever had! All of their treatments include heated stone work which was just heavenly. And the scalp add on was definitely something I'd get again - as you'd imagine, it's a more focused massage and included some lovely aromatherapy. My DIL's massage therapist was Harmonie and she was SO happy with her experience as well. This was my DIL's first massage so she was also nervous lol. Harmonie was super friendly, bubbly, and welcoming and immediately made my DIL feel at ease. She loved it and we'll definitely be back for another girls day out. The space is small with sleek minimalist spa vibes. And while they don't have any room for saunas or baths or anything like that they do have a nice boutique area with spa products and other items like locally-made jewelry. I got some really cute earrings and some fantastic soaps and lotions which I've been loving! Booking online via their website was very easy. Prices are what you'd expect for the level of service and the quality is totally justified. Like most spas, they have a cancellation policy of 24 hour or more notice to cancel - if less than 24 hours they charge 50% of your scheduled service but that's pretty standard for most places. They're located in a small shopping center with a few parking spots out front and plenty of free street parking in the surrounding area. There are some stairs required to get up into the spa area and I didn't see any elevator options so there may be handicap access issues. A couple days before my appt I get a text to confirm my massage so I did. The day of my appt I show up 15 minutes early, doors are locked and no lights are on. So I text the number and they said Mara is supposed to be on the way to the appt. 10 minutes after my appt is supposed to be, I get a phone call from the owner apologizing and saying the receptionist booked on a day Mara is out of town. Do they not look at the schedules ahead of time?? They could have called to reschedule me, I booked this appt a week ago? Makes zero sense.. I had to drive 30 minutes to even get to this appt as well as try to find a sitter for my baby.. So I told the owner I wanted a refund and she gave me attitude and said I haven't paid. This was a gift so you know and even if I didn't pay yet that wasn't the right way to respond. I'm just super disappointed because this place had good reviews but nothing about my experience was great.
