They didn't try to advise smth, suggest how to solve my problem. And I left....upset and destroyed. I new I must to find a decision and get my license. I wrote a couple emails to the different schools, one of them was CONTRACTORS STATE LICENSE SCHOOL. I want to say " THANK YOU PAUL. Paul is the guy who called me every day whole week and wanted to set up an appointment with their branch in Sacramento. Sometimes I was pissed of and sick of his calls. Paul was bugging me every day. And finally he made me visit their school. I want to say " THANK YOU STEPHANIE!!!". She was the firs person who I talked to. She said "No problem we know how to help you. You are not the first one who need to prove the experience which was out of the USA." She gave me the steps I had to take, and did my submission. She gave me a hope... I want to say "THANK YOU LORI!!!!" Lori Polisso was with me from the beginning the day I passed my Exam. She helped me to collect the paperwork, she assisted with filling out the applications and other stuff. Lori was always glad to meet the students and solve their problems. Thanks to these people I have my License and I started my business. Good job guys!!!!

"EXEMPLARY PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROVIDED THROUGH SAC-STATE"…read more SIT REP In one of my roles for my employer - the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) - my training-section provides a training opportunity for our licensing enforcement officers & investigators who work in the Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD). These officers must go out to state-licensed Community Care Facilities where they investigate complaints about facility-deficiencies, neglect or outright abuse on the client-populations residing in these facilities. For those officers entrusted to the specific investigations of Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs), and for the Chronically Ill (RCFCIs), California State University - Sacramento (CSUS) provides important subject-matter information that allows our officers to investigate these cases with a far better understanding of the demands placed on the licensed facility, on the staff, and what minimum standards for acceptable care should be maintained for the elderly client population residing at these facilities. In addition, there is a training requirement mandated by the State Legislature that our officers go through so many hours of training on these specialized subject-matter areas. THE SET-UP & CURRICULUM For the last five (5) years, I've enjoyed the experience of working with Dr. Osborn of CSU-Sacramento's School of Gerontology. She and her instructor staff have provided our CCLD officers with great curriculum and in-class training that has helped them get the knowledge base and hands-on skills they need to better interact with the facility staff and the elderly client populations. The various modules in this 40 HR training provide a lot of specific information that deals with the health needs of the elderly, better understandings of mental handicaps and deficiencies, minimum standards for residential living, and better communication tools for interpersonal action with elderly populations. Other specialized modules also discuss dealing with family members of the elderly and being sensitive to their frames of mind, as well as other related issues dealing with end-of-life scenarios. THE LOWDOWN The CSUS School of Gerontology can provide excellent program knowledge on the elderly populations of our society so that greater understanding of their unique needs can be provided.

I had signed up for a CPR class for job purposes a month in advance. Less than 48 hours before my…read morescheduled class I get an email saying the class will be cancelled. Unfortunately, I needed to take the class on that date and could not reschedule. I had to scramble to find another CPR class (and the money to pay for it) in order to be hired on time for my job. I called in order to get a refund only to be told that it would take 6-8 weeks to receive my refund and they seemed perplexed as to why I could not reschedule. I found another class that was shorter, cheaper, and I didn't have to pre pay in advance. After spending 5 years at Sac State, struggling to find work after graduation I was extremely disappointed that they would take so long to refund my money when there was little to no notice that the class was cancelled. I DO NOT recommend taking CPR classes here as instructors are unreliable and their refund policy is unacceptable. Go to NorCal EMT in Roseville for cheaper, reliable classes.

Treat it like your own experience because it is basically a way to learn and practice to apply for licensure/certification. I was in a phlebotomy technician course, and I liked it because we practiced blood draws (including capillary puncture [finger stick] and venipuncture) so many times on so many different vein arrangements and on both the antecubital area (inside of elbow) and dorsal hand (opposite side of the hand's palm side - "veiny" part). I feel like when I came in a lot of people did not have background on health care (e.g., anatomy and physiology, terminology, etc.). I was so happy that I took classes at CRC and SCC (Los Rios) before coming here. After the phlebotomy technician course, I ended up getting my license in phlebotomy and continued to do courses here (medical assisting). It's nice because with the cost of tuition for medical assisting (MA) we get textbooks/supplies (a big textbook, a workbook, a medical terminology book, 1 set of scrubs, and a stethoscope). It's nice to work with all different backgrounds and ages. I would say it is getting better, and I do like the job workshops held by the staff (Lindsay Cosgaya, Jim Wirick, and Mr. Dan Davis). A lot of people should read the license (Certified Phlebotomy Technician I) / certification (for MA it's a certification not a license) requirements and try to get some basic anatomy down! You gotta do lots of work on your own even before. Also: phlebotomy (blood draw) makes people feel weak - make sure you have lots of time to eat and drink and rest because it's a quick course but you have to practice a lot (get 50 successful draws).

This district knows how to teach! The schools are safe and well maintained by the operations staff. When I go by campuses now, I see HVAC workers on the roofs and custodians cleaning classrooms in preparation for the school year. It's good to know that there are people actively workin g behind the scenes to help facilitate the safety of our children.

The district hires and retains inexperienced, rude, unmotivated, privileged teachers set in their ways, racist staff, and have discriminatory practices. I am a parent of 4 students who attended schools in the district since 2008 and it has only gotten worse. My youngest is at Rio Americano and the culture is toxic and dysfunctional. His counselor Sydnee Butcher needs training and support as an academic guidance counselor. Doesn't surprise me being trained by Elizabeth Irwin. When Sydnee first appeared last year, she was very vocal about change and supporting students. She stated she once was a student there and her experience there allowed her to identify areas of improvement. My experience with her is that is far from the truth. Sydnee doesn't perform any research nor does she fact check. She just blindly regurgitates what Elizabeth feeds her. My son is in a unique position and has aspirations for which he has set goals. While trying to reach those goals, Sydnee and Elizabeth have only worked to hold him back with hard stops. They are not helpful at all. You would think your academic guidance counselor wants students to succeed and instead of delivering hard stops, they will use their discretion (they have levels of discretion) to find ways and create opportunities to support students success. If you are able to get your children into a different district. Please do so. You will not regret it. If you are not able, please listen to your children, the teachers and staff lack integrity.
