I have been trying to cooperate with customer service since March of this year to have someone help me with a couch my mother bought with warranty. Repeatedly, I have been told that my ticket has been submitted but every time I call back nothing is on record. I am frustrated because while I know with covid things take time, customer service can't even follow up to submit my issue! I call every time and it's the same. I email them with no follow up. I had high hopes for this store since my sister purchased furniture here and she had great service and a great deal, her anecdote is different than what I experienced while shopping here. Upon entering the showroom, I was greeted as usual like everyone else. After that though is where my experience was different than other customers. I had the chance to walk around and even find some pieces of furniture that I did want to purchase but it became apparent to me that the workers here already had preconceived ideas of what I would be able to afford. Even though the floor has countless associates that were speaking with each other and sitting down, no one asked if I needed help with the things I wanted to buy. Associates would even walk away and then continue their conversation with their coworkers when they noticed that I needed help. By the time I had an associate helping me, he informed me that the furniture that I wanted was not in stock and if I wanted to see other things that were in that price range. That is not how it works for me, if I like something I get it, even if it's not the original price range of what I was looking at. I understand that I am in shorts, sandals, and a shirt but it is also 80 degrees and my day off. I am pretty sure that if I came here wearing my clothes that I wear to work or if they saw my car outside, the experience would quickly change from walking away from me to wanting to help me. I'd rather take my business elsewhere where associates actually have customer service and don't have judgements based on what I can afford by what I am wearing. read more

Mathis Brothers has lost a loyal customer!! Customer service is a joke!!! I purchased a 5 year protection plan for 1. Inconsiderate reps who need training 2. Lies from the costumer service manager Lisa Gotta and the director Justin Lewis ! I purchased my kids bunk bed and my kids are unable to use the top bunk because the metal bracket broke and had cause damage the bed frame. As a parent I will "NOT" have my children use this latter or sleep on the second bunk because I am worried for their safety. Which I stressed to their team several times. I have called and no one calls back. I have emailed and no respond in a timely matter. Several weeks ago Justin Lewis said he got the brackets and his rep maria will call me to set a service appointment. Welp, several weeks has gone by and no call and no repairs have been done!! I emailed Justin Lewis earlier today demanding a refund for this fake protection plan I purchased. I want the furniture fixed and repaired now!! Went to Mathis Bros to shop for living room furniture, purchased what would be considered fairly decent quality furniture (2 items). Arranged for the delivery which is very slow when it comes to deliveries up to the High Desert. Long story short, both items (one of the items was replaced twice) were defective (power controls & frames) and returned to Mathis for a Full refund. I am giving them a 3 star rating for doing the right thing! Even though it was a very time consuming ordeal it was final resolved, pleasantly. read more

Furniture quality is lacking. Within the first week, my coffee table was stained in two spots as a result of water drops. I had covered all of my tables with the furniture protection stuff they gave me. Not sure why a drop of water immediately wiped up would ruin my tables. Having purchased the protection plan I submitted a claim. The tech came out, looked at it and said "I can't fix this, it's too difficult." And left. So wth? I feel Like i need to cover everything in plexiglass to ensure it remains intact. I didn't buy furniture to stare at it from behind a velvet rope. I purchased it to use and apparently i can't. I paid for two sofas, one arrived damaged, I reported it right away, They promise to replace it, after three and a half months, I was told that they will not be able to do so, that I have to keep both of them the way they are, because they wouldn't be receiving the replacement. I asked to replace both and be given credit to get something else, same answer, keep the damaged one. In other words, they stole my money. 1 star for the customer service. This was the 1st time I ever bought a nice bedroom set and was excited. My dresser and nightstands came in weeks before my sliding chest which was fine. I finally called and asked about chest and they said it was ready. No one had told me. Fine we set up delivery for Saturday between 10-12. I sold my old set and they picked it up. Then at 9:42 they called and said it was damaged and not coming. They would have known prior to that so I believe they damaged themselves. No one would tell me if they were fixing it or what was going to happen. I called again on Tuesday and was just told they ordered a new one and it will be 5 weeks..my clothes are in laundry baskets!! Update may 5-2018 So I decided to go back because I loved some couches and I couldn't get my mind off of them. Not only that but who ever I messaged with that had commented on my previous post was really nice and i didn't want my bad review to reflect a certain way because of one person. So the first thing I did was grab the attention of the first employee I saw, to avoid any of the issues I previously had. She was great! She even walked us through the clearance side, something we missed the last time around because we were too busy trying to get rid of the creep. We found exactly what we wanted. We paid around $2000 including tax, delivery, and 5 year warranty for a 3 piece electrical sectional with Italian leather hand rest. I could not be happier. My boyfriend and I have been checking furniture places for about a month and finally found one we loved here. We stopped by 4/14 around 8 pm. We loved a couch but wanted to continue looking because it was one of the first ones we saw. Unfortunately an employee by the name of Miguel would not leave us alone. It's one thing to stay close by to try to be helpful and another to do some serious stocking throughout the whole store. We even went upstairs to look at patio furniture to try to lose him. We had to fake using the elevator and open it when we saw him take the stairs. I have horrible anxiety and previous issues with being followed, this was the worst experience at any store I've ever experienced. I will never be going back because of this creepy disrespectful man. Let me start off by saying that the service upon entering the store was decent. All of the associates were welcoming. We purchased a dining set and, due to COVID, it was expected that there was going to be a 6-8 week delay. That was not a huge issue. However, it has been longer than 8 weeks (August) since we have purchased the dining set and we still haven't received the last "special order" item. The salesman seemed eager to make business, but not eager enough to follow-up with our order. It is frustrating that I have to reach out to the Mathis Brothers customer service to make sure my order will still arrive. No one has followed up with us. VERY DISAPPOINTED. A woman greeted us and took us to the beds and then all of a sudden had a conference call and said she would be right back and never came back. It was really weird and rude. Excellent Service. I ordered a rug with my sofa and chair. When loading the truck they could not find it. I was called by customer service to inform me of this. My initial reaction was anger. I quickly apologized to the young lady ( I said nothing bad ) and told her it was not her fault. She thanked me for being a customer and we hung up. An hour later. A young man called to say they found the rug. I was happy. He had one of his team members drive it from Ontario to Los Angeles. Just for me. Kudos. Finally the crew arrived and removed the items from the boxes. NOT ONCE DID THEY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PUT IT TOGETHER. Only one was completed to satisfaction. The other not. They called the office and said someone would call me that day. NEVER DID. Called on Monday, Tuesday and today Thursday. Each time I was told that someone would get right back to me.... ONCE AGAIN, NOT SO. The one remains in the garage and is not useable. I NEED AT LEAST A 50% CREDIT SO I CAN HAVE A THIRD PART VENDOR REPAIR, OR A 100% RETURN ON MY $400+/- PLUS MY $60 ADDITIONAL FEE. We bought a custom order leather sofa and two recliners. When the set arrived, I was disappointed to find that the color looked much lighter than the swatch had. We called our salesman, Jake Gutierrez. He immediately called us back and provided us with his cell for future contact. Jake was great. He always responded quickly to our calls/texts and bent over backwards to make sure that we were happy with our purchase. He took care of speaking with management and having the set re-ordered. I ordered two sofas and two chairs back o December 12, 2020. I was told one sofa and chair would be delivered before the new year. The receipt showed it was estimated to be delivered by January 10, 2021. Well here we are almost 4 months out and still no furniture. None. The worst part is Mathis Brothers has not reached out to me one time to let me know what is going on with the furniture. I did call a few weeks ago and asked why no one has contacted me to keep me updated about my order and I was told it is up to the sales person to do that.
