Very disappointed with this company. I purchased 2 lazy boy recliners. One was not put together correctly and I returned it. They picked up the recliner, of course with a pick up charge, even though it was there fault. Anyway, they picked it up on 12/18/20. I called on 12/28/20 to see why my card had not received the refunded amount. They said they would start the refund that day 12/28/20. They said that they don't talk to the return people so they didn't know about the return. What? So if I didn't call, I would never have received my refund of almost $900. What kind of company is this? What a bunch of scammers. I will never ever buy anything from them again. All I can say is "STAY AWAY FROM MATHIS BROTHERS". What a joke of a company. Well here I go again. After posting a negative review over 5 months ago and being contacted by a Corporate representative I still do not have a missing pillow. Our sofas and chair were delivered back at the start of July without a pillow that goes with the chair. I have never received a call from anyone at Mathis Bros. I always have to make the calls. They are nice when I call but nothing gets done. I was told many times that they were waiting for the pillow from the manufacturer which I understand. Finally a month ago when I called I was told it was at their shipping dept. When I said why was I not called I was told so conveniently it had just arrived that day. I was told it would be shipped to my house. Now a month later nothing. The warehouse is like 50 miles from my home. I hope that if you special order anything from them that it goes better that what I have experienced. read more

Had to return couch's and now have no couch in house for Xmas. On top of that I have to wait 7-10 for a refund , now have to wait until can get another couch. We bough a bed and they told us 7 to 10 days from Indio!! Are kidding me it's 2hours away. But ok we waited and then I had to call to see where is was and had to talk to manger almost 13 days after purchase. Spoke with Ashley she was great said I would have it the day after Thanksgiving. Called on Friday and the delivery section said someone pushed your delivery till Tuesday Dec 2 are you kidding me WTF!!! I asked the guy can you take off the delivery fee for the inconvenience and he said no so I canceled the order!! And I still had to call back and find out when they were going to refund it. I've shopped here multiple times. The service in the store by Tuan was good. We spent about $4700. On a sofa and love seat. The next day I'm looking on line and it was like $800. Cheaper at the same store. I did call and Tian told me they would fix the price. Then my couches get delivered. The two guys definitely didn't have the white glove treatment like they advertise. They literally dropped the couch and loveseat down from a very high truck on to a blanket. Then quickly bring it in and out they go. I opened the middle compartment and than it won't shut. So I call customer service, she tells me that can deliver a new one in 3 days. It's funny to me that she didn't care they just dropped it off the truck or anything else. When you order in the store they bring it the same day. Anyway we get the camera and it's the plastic rail in side broke ( I assume from being dropped). I told her just come get your stuff back it's not good quality. I'm done shopping here. Update: Today I call to see what time they will be picking up Wednesday and Leanna tells me from 9am-9pm. Where do I start? I read all the bad reviews and had purchased a bedroom set from Mathis years ago and had no problems. I was shocked to see all of the bad reviews but I now understand. I just purchased a new home and needed furniture to fill it so I thought why not Mathis Brothers? So i went to the Ontario store and met with Sam Aviles, who by the way was the best part of my purchase. Sam Was fantastic! No pressure and really helped me make decisions. Anyways my problems started with delivery. I ordered a four piece leather sectional for downstairs, a white sofa, chair and end table for my loft upstairs. I was so excited to get my new furniture. When it arrived one of the pieces of the leather sectional was totally a different color. I ordered a dark brown and this piece was a very light brown and there was very large scratches in the leather. Then they told me the chair was dirty on the bottom so they weren't even going to bring it in and marked it as refused. they took the couch upstairs and the end table. They had to schedule an exchange for the leather sectional and I was told the chair would come with that exchange order. Ok no problem. Well later in the evening I saw a gouge in my wall going upstairs. I know this wasn't there because I just had my whole inside of the house painted and I found the piece of drywall sitting on one of the steps. I looked at the couch and saw a large scuff mark on the back consistent with it hitting a wall. I spoke to 3 different customer service representatives who made me feel like I was wasting their time. They agreed to replace the couch but of coarse it is out of stock and wont be coming in until mid July. So now I have to wait to get the couch. Well then I get the exchange of the leather sectional and no chair! So I had to spend time on the phone AGAIN asking where my chair was. I had to Schedule ANOTHER delivery . It is coming today. Oh and I forgot to mention the exchange on leather sectional, two of the cushions don't match. Needles to say this will be my LAST purchase with Mathis Brothers ever! Oh and as far as my wall was concerned not one of the customer service reps even addressed that issue. That was taken care of by a delivery guy on the exchange who advised me to call a different numebr. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

I wish I would've seen the reviews before spending over 5k in furniture. Terrible customer service, every time I call to ask about my delivery or to ask them about an item I'm waiting for, the people that answer the phones there are very rude. Even to ask about making payments. They sound like they don't want to be there. Terrible system for delivery that by the way, arrives super late. Not to mention no communication on delivery time. Also, I'm still waiting for them to replace a piece of furniture that was delivered damaged. They keep postponing the date of when the item will arrive at their store to have it replaced. I'm frustrated with them. I wish I could take it all back. I'm never going back there again. I'm also telling everyone I know not to go there at all. I just purchased two pieces of high quality pieces, but the store first sold me a used piece without telling me or giving me a discount(!). I had to take it back (we delivered it ourselves) and the store, without any issues gave me a factory wrapped new piece. I wish they'd saved me this trouble and had been straight forward. The used piece had a seriously faded (cleaned??) spot - leather sofa - but I could only see it at home because the tricksters wrapped it for the gullible customer. So ... They have Tons of all other Brand names so you're not stuck having to settle for super low quality 'House brands' like Jerome's! The Mathis Sales Crew are on top of it. We were lucky to meet with 'Roman' He intently listened to our needs and gave us the options and perfect suggestions we were interested in. We only had a few questions that he didn't know off the top of his head. But within less than 2min, he had all questions answered and confirmed. Unlike elsewhere, where you may have to wait around for days until they get back to you! We've been shopping everywhere between Riverside to San Diego. Just to find High Pleasure sales people and low selection junk. Rest ashered you will be treated like royalty at Mathis furniture! And did I mention their amazing prices? Upon reading reviews, I seem to have the same opinion as everyone else who reviewed this place. As I appreciate the help and having someone answer my questions, I do not appreciate being followed through the store when I want to look on my own! It was very uncomfortable and unnerving knowing that I was being followed. I had made it clear that I was not buying that day but I wanted to take a look since I am in need of a new furniture set. As I was walking around, other employees gave me a weird look because I wasn't being escorted. I don't see why wanting to look on my own is a weird concept? I was also disappointed to learn that out of all the options they have, only a few are made out of real wood! I do not want MDF furniture. I want something that's going to last. Although my biggest issue was the fact that I was followed throughout the store. It made me so nervous that I felt like I couldn't open drawers to furniture to further explore. Sometimes people just want to look around on their own. Updated: Mathis Brothers left a comment and said most customers like being escorted through the store. Most does not mean all. Sometimes I just like to look at my options without having an employee right there so I can think on my own. I wish they could have accommodated to my shopping style. Not only that, but being followed throughout the store being closely monitored is really unnerving and uncomfortable. We recently remodeled our home and looked for the perfect couch. We finally found one that we liked at Mathis but because of covid and that it was a custom order we were told it would be 6-8 weeks. This was ordered on 9/20/20 it is now December 3 and no couch in site i called in the beginning of November i was told around the 20th of november. I called November 20th , I was then told the first week in December. I called yesterday 12/2/20 and now maybe the 14th of December. This is unacceptable , as now it's going on "12 weeks " . Along with having to call multiple times as they never answer the phone. I also left a message for the sales associate but no response. I should have shopped somewhere else I would have gotten it in half the time. I would have my sofa for the holidays so that i could decorate . now I have an old couch that no longer match's my new walls and flooring . read more

First of all the order took much longer to get than originally promised; said because of CO-Vid. Could understand that, however, when it finally came in and was to be delivered they stated delivery time between 6:30 & 8:30 PM at night. However, no delivery, no call. Finally called at 9:00 PM and said they had 2 more deliveries and then would come, which would make it about 11:00 PM.That was unacceptable. When I called today, they said it wouldn't be delivered now until Dec. 7th one week later; not today as one would expect. We have talked to our Sales Person and was no help, tried many times to call the Manager to no avail. Unfortunately, once you buy the furniture, they are no help at all with the delivery. pretty horrible experience, 1 month now still NO solution for a simple problem First we purchased a bed in Ontario back in May with other stuff, when the delivery guy shows up for set up, we been informed a parts for restraining the bed on the rack was missing, need to do a replacement , no big deal. they left the bed there and went back. Second time: 2 weeks later the delivery guy shows up with a new set, still found theres no where for that part, the deliver guy sad he will report to the warehouse and left again! Called customer care several times try to get it resolved, secluded third time deliver, Third time: Same deliver guy from second time shows up with a wrong part, glanced for literally 2 second and left!! Called in once again and express my frustration, but no one there seems have any idea whats going on, i told them just TALKE TO THE DELIVER GUY and they told me there's no way they make contact with them! You kidding right? Then i ask for supervisor all of sudden no one in the office at them moment. keep telling me that they will call me back but nothing, days later after i reach back to my SALES person ( sales! you have to reach out sales for customer care!!!!!!) the sales manager called me back said he will arrange a SPECIALIST over and take a look, then determined which part is missing, then make the replacement. Forth time: SPECIALIST(apparently work as a contractor for them) came over, indicate just 2 simple ring that was missing took photo and said he will reach me out by end of day, nothing happened ever since. week later i texted my sales she said someone in customer service will reach back to me, NOTHING again！！！！！！！！！ Called in next day, reach out the person, been told that the report just came in after a week! for less than 3 sentence and couple photos, nice! but guess what ? The girl told me the part will be ordered from factory and take 4-8 WEEKS? WHAT PARTS ON EARTH WOULD TAKE THAT LONG EVEN YOU MADE AND SHIP FROM CHINA DIRECTLY WOULD BE FASTER, plus is not some crazy special made parts just some thing that suppose to came with the box which it doesn't!!!! Asked for ANY MANAGER once again and they just HAPPENED AGAIN not there or in a meeting!!!!!!!!! and been told someone will call me back AGAIN! I thought i was very patient in this matter since the sales person were so nice and helpful but this is just ridiculous, not even mention EVERYTIME someone have to present in the house for a 4HOURs window just waiting for they guy to show up. I have a fantastic experience with Mathis Brothers. As a gift may parents are buying my daughter a new bed for Christmas. We decided a full extra long would be best for her size and the size of her room. She's 12 and 5'6 1/2. Unfortunately, this is not a very common size and we've had serious trouble finding any bed frames for a pre-teen a true full extra long. We called down to Mathis Brothers to see if they offer anything of the sorts and Val Serrano was the lovely saleswoman would took our call. Val was able to give us some ideas and a direction to start. My daughter was interested in one of the options so we made an appointment to check it out in person. Having never been to Mathis Brothers, I was shocked how big it was. It was like Disneyland for adults. Temperature checks were taken at the door as well as a sanitation station to use before entering and we were given wristbands to verify we were checked. Val met us and showed us our options. Val was so patient, my daughter wasn't in love with what we chose over text so she showed us other options for several hours. Once we found the perfect bed, Val explained which pieces we could used to create what we needed. We bought the full size head and foot board and queen rails for the sides. After months of trying to figure this out with endless frustration, Val made it look effortless. We ended up buying the whole bedroom set and she gave us ideas on finding a full extra long mattress. Unfortunately due to covid my daughters furniture won't be available for pick up until end of December but I'm still in contact with Val as she continues to update us about our furniture status. I was so impressed with both the amount of furniture options we had to choose from and Val's knowledge and experience in the furniture world. I highly recommend Mathis brothers and Val to all our family and friends! read more

We bought a Serta from them, and within a year it began to break down and sag, we moved to Vegas, when we tried to get a replacement, ( it's only been a year mind you ) Mathis bros said they will not provide transportation for the replacement, I asked if they had a service contract with Serta in the Vegas area, they said they had nothing, so a company like Mathis Bros does not honor warranties unless you do all the work. I don't understand why they don't get in contact with a Serta Dealer here in Vegas and have them do a Warranty replacement? that is the way business should be done. ITS A WARRANTY REPLACEMENT... Our family had the most wonderful experience at the Ontario Mathis Brother location. We had a bit of a furniture emergency over the weekend when Ashley Furniture failed to tell us our order of 6 weeks wouldn't be ready for pick up until after the Thanksgiving holiday when we were promised it would be. We had zero furniture in our living room and needed it immediately. We decided to drive to Mathis Bros in Ontario to see what they had in stock. Upon arrival and after our Covid screening, we were greeted by Mario Solis, furniture salesman extraordinaire. He spent 3 hours with us, moving furniture around so we could see different styles, drawing pictures so my wife could see exactly what our living room would look like and having the absolute most patience I have ever seen any person ever have. We purchased a sectional, Lazy Boy recliner and 2 end tables when it was all said an done. We ended up spending way more money that we did at Ashley and we're happy to do so knowing the much better quality of the product and great service we received. A huge thank you to Mario Solis! He is a great person. He did not waste any of our time showings us things we couldn't get immediately or we're not the style we told him we wanted. Mathis Brothers needs to recognize him amongst his peers and at a corporate level. Needles to say, we cancelled our order with Ashley Furniture and will be receiving a full refund and will never return to Ashley nor purchase anything Ashley makes. Next up, bedroom furniture. It seems this store is not interested in selling us furniture. My wife and I saw a bed last Sunday. We wanted to do a little research before buying so got the sales persons card. We emailed him on Monday with a few questions. Never heard back. Called him on Thursday. Asked our questions and was told he needed to look into it and would get back to us on Friday. Never heard back so I called him today, only to get a voicemail box that was full. Called the store asking for an associate that would help us. Were transferred back into the full voicemail box. We purchased a sectional in January 2020. Four months in, I notice the cushions were starting to sink in on one part of the sectional. Come August we go to sit on it and we sink all the way in. The FRAME BROKE in less than a year. Mind you, I have no small children to say they were jumping on it or anything of that nature. I couldn't believe this had happened smh. I even chose this sectional because it has nothing mechanical and wanted to avoid having to get any repairs done in the future. Called customer service and they came to pick it up the following week. When they were taking it out, I happened to look at the bottom and notice there was a hole. It looked like that piece had been patched before we even bought it. I am furious at this point because it was not a cheap purchase. Weeks after when we finally get it back, it comes back dirty with two black stains. The sectional is an ivory color, so yeah you can see it a lot. I get that resolved and just try to move on from that ordeal. Well, It's now November of the same year and again the cushions are starting to sink in. I decided to look at the bottom and notice it is drooping. I proceeded to touch it to see why it's drooping, and there's a long metal piece bouncing around. IT'S FALLING APART AGAIN IN LESS THAN A YEAR! They won't come to get it until next week, so most likely will not have it back by Thanksgiving. Not to mention customer service is no help either. They seem to think it's our fault instead of it being a defective product. My other sectional lasted ten years. I will not recommend this place to anyone. It has been a headache and we are not even a year in! I will post an update because as of right now there's no resolution besides repairing a "New Sectional" over and over again. I purchased a three piece reclining set at he Ontario Ca store...Upon delivery the the power wasn't working. I allowed them to bring another it wasn't working either. I decided perhaps it was simply the brand, so I purchase a more expensive set, after deliver I noted deep indentations in the leather. I took pictures and contacted the store. I was asked to except a replacement, but decided three was a charm. I was made to pay a placement fee for defective furniture. I will contact BBB just because... had I looked there I don't believe I would have ever purchased anything there. The unit was well over $ 5000.00. This is my first yelp. Don't allow people to deliver substandard product and follow with sub standard customer care. Go somewhere else. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. My experience has been absolutely terrible with this company. I only wish I had read their abysmal customer ratings on yelp before I ever made the over 50 mile trip to their store. My experience was horrible from the moment I walked. The sales associate Damas focused on us and made it his personal mission to stalk us as we tried to look around the store. He said "wherever you go I will be right here behind you" after I EXPLICITLY said to him I would like some time to look around without pressure. Nevertheless, he persisted. We even took the elevator when he looked away for a second and he still manged to find us. From there, no other salesman felt comfortable approaching us because we had a dark cloud lurking behind us. I explained that my previous bed had creaked and that I did not want this bed if it would do the same. We spent hours of wasted time because low and behold the bed now squeaks. The first time they delivered the bed and they were missing pieces and had the nerve to have an attitude because the drive was so long even though it was THEIR fault they left the missing pieces. Unfortunately, the squeaking began AFTER their apparent 7 day refund, which Jennifer a customer service manager gladly relayed to me. When asking why their reviews were so bad and why her name was mentioned so often she responded with "Oh well". If her response does not tell you everything you need to know about this company, I don't know what will. Be warned. I now have to wait for a service tech to come out from a third party, listen to me roll around in this squeaking bed and then the service tech will send a report to Mathis​ brothers who then has to schedule a time to come pick this bed up. This will take weeks. And do I get my money back after all this hassle? NO. I get store credit. So I can now waste over $500 and pour it back into a company that has no regards for its customers. Great. There are so many opportunities for growth in this scenario, from Damas the first person you encounter to Jennifer, the worst person I've encountered. Had the company resolved this issue with care instead of an "Oh well", I would have been able to leave a better review. read more

Never judge a book by its cover ! Loved the selection, especially a dining room table I fell in love with. However, the experience & comments from the sales associate was uncalled for! He automatically assumed by looking at myself and husband that we could not afforded anything in the store. He kept letting us know that we were in the expensive side of the store & then pointed out the section that was less expensive. He returned to point out where the "clearance" section was, he goes on to say you can find more affordable items over there RUDE! I was looking to furnish my entire home, I've never been treated in such a manner before! It was my first and last time going there ! Mathis Brothers you may want to have some customer service classes to teach your employees on how to treat people. If you work with the public then you should have good customer service! Just bought a couch and chair on Memorial Day the sales lady was great. Helped us answer all our questions and showed us what available colors were in stock. It was the shipping dept that I had a problem with. First of all we paid for the furniture protection plan. Which we were informed that they would spray the couch and chair before we were to pick them up when my husband got there on schedule pick up day the furniture was "wet" not damp but WET . So whatever they spayed on the furniture wasn't even dry and the bottom of one of the couch had 2 rips . I'm not one to make a big deal about things but I wasn't happy at all. My husband fixed the rips ( with tape) but that still didn't make it ok!!! I was still not happy! Would I recommend Mathis brothers to friends and family MY ANSWER IS "NO" and I hope this doesn't happen to any one else so buyer beware!!!!! read more

Based on our research, found the prices to be about 20% cheaper here than going to a La-Z Boy showroom. We drove from Simi Valley to Ontario, we were met by Lawrence "Bob" Jenkins.(I also would like to say that upon arrival to the store, we were screened, temperature taken and asked a series of Covid-19 related questions, they tried to take every precaution to keep us and the others in the store safe and comfortable.) Buyers beware of purchasing a furniture protection plan from Mathis Bros. If you do, make sure you fulIy understand what it covers because I bought a Broyhill couch and loveseat from their Ontario store on 9/16 with a furniture protection plan for $199 as a warranty to cover my purchase for 5 yrs. I noticed a seam breaking lose from the loveseat a few months after purchase but it was small so I didn't call it in at that time, my mistake because now it's much worse. I notified the store but it was too late because I was told by their customer service that this warranty didn't cover a manufacture's defect and that the manufacturer covered their funiture for only 1 year. They didn't bother to send anyone to check it. So now I'm going to have to replace furniture I bought from them that's not even 3 yrs old. This afternoon I entered the store and was greeted by a sales person. He asked If I had been there before. I said yes, thank you and kept walking. My first stop was on the first floor, towards the back in the office furniture section. The same sales person walks up to me and asks if he can check inventory for me. I said, no thank you. I proceeded to look upstairs and after a little while noticed the same salesman, who had already approached me twice, was now stalking me on the second floor. I don't know about most women but I certainly don't like being stalked, whether it is in a store or out in public. If I need help, I am certainly capable of seeking it. This is the second time this has happened to me at this store. I am interested in purchasing a couple of items but I would rather call from home to check inventory than be preyed on by sales people. This behavior is extremely unprofessional and cheapens the store. Let me teach you how it is done. Simply welcome the customer, tell them your name, hand them a business card and tell them you would be happy to help if they have any questions or if they need you to check inventory. After that, LEAVE THEM ALONE!!! High pressured sales sends a lot of people running in the opposite direction. Think about it, is this how customers are treated in high end stores? I can assure you it is not because I managed a store on Rodeo in BH. A good sales person knows when to approach and when to allow the customer freedom to explore merchandise. Most customers will buy more if they don't feel rushed, pressured or uncomfortable. Based upon other reviews, perhaps Management should hire more employees in their Customer Service area and reduce the number of Sales people. read more
