We purchased four barstools last summer and one was on back order for five days. The salesperson promised he would call us to schedule delivery. Needless to say, after two weeks, I phoned and was told it wasn't in. I never heard from the salesperson and it wasn't until nearly two months later after a text indicating I would escalate the matter did I receive a call. We finally received the barstool after several weeks of waiting. Last week we decided to give the Mathis Brothers another opportunity and purchased a bedroom suite. The salesperson indicated it was not in stock and would be in stock in three days. Well, after a week and three phone conversations, we were told the bedroom set is delayed for several weeks. My issue is Mathis Brothers trains their personnel to MAKE THE SALE regardless of providing the customer accurate ETAs for out of stock merchandise. This store is insane. Where else can you find everything you need to furnish a home under one rood. Seriously, this store is crazy big with lots of cool stuff. I came here looking for a recliner chair and ended up browsing the rest of the store with my mouth dropping to the floor half the time amazed at how many cool items their were inside the store. The sales rep CANDY was very very helpful and walked me around the store pointing out items that I might like based on what I told her I was looking for. I have come here several times and purchased furniture and never have had such a warm welcome this gentleman gave us. He values customer service and it's his passion to be where he's at. Just left Mathis Bros in Ontario and though I didn't buy anything this time I had the most enjoyable shopping experience there because of Sales Associate Doug Silverstone. In fact I even looked for him on my way out to say thank you. Doug greeted me at the door, asked me what I was looking for then let me go on my way to roam around the store. He checked on me once then let me go back to roaming. We purchased a new dinning set and a chest from the clearance room last week. Overall experience was good. The sales guy did follow us from the entrance, but stayed away when I was talking to my wife and came to answer questions and even moved chairs around to let us see how things would match. Entering from loading or coffee shop will skip the sales people if you want. We were not successful in reducing the price. We tried! We may not have enough negotiating leverage at $1600. I did my research before coming here and their prices were good compare to Ashley and Living Spaces. They sell Ashley brand (LA Home) items here cheaper than Ashley. This place has 10x more customers in the store than any Living Spaces. We didn't like Ashley's sales practice of adding over 20 pieces of dishware to their dinning sets and their sales prices were a bit different at different stores. Prices were negotiable. We also checked Macy's, but had limited selection. Ikea didn't offer large dinning sets. I was targeting solid wood sets, but most use veneer on top of real wood or MDF. I gave up and went with the look, texture, comfort, and price instead. Delivery service from Mathis Brothers was excellent. I would buy from this place again and check out their clearance room whenever I get the chance. read more

Went to Ashley Furniture three times and was accosted every single time. So darn Pushy!! We decided to try Mathis Brothers and we were allowed to browse unaccompanied. We asked a young man Guillermo Cruz for some help with sofas and beds. He was knowledgeable, helpful and anything but pushy. We learnt that he was a newly wed and he even shared a photo of his beautiful wife. He had so much patience; helping us, not only once but twice. We ordered 2 items in March, the sales person entered the order incorrectly into the system and we paid a deposit on the listed total. After reviewing the invoice at home, we noticed the sales person's error and called to clear the matter up twice and was told the order would be fine. Mathis Brothers finally corrected the error internally and it increased the total due. Went to the store to request a $40 adjustment as a courtesy since the error was made by the store. Spoke with a supervisor and manager. Both were condescending and had very poor customer service skills. Kyle said there was nothing they could do and would not provide the courtesy. Based on how we were treated, we cancelled the order. The bright spot was Jasmine in cashiering, who provided amazing customer service. It's a shame the supervisor/manager staff lack those skills. Sunday, 11/6 we shopped all over the inland empire at Ashley, Living Spaces, Jerome's, etc. We finally got to visit Mathis Bros - wow! Wish we would have gone there first. and we finally met our sales person that knew what the heck he was. KEVIN was amazing. Very knowledgeable, he knew exactly which questions to ask, showed us at least 20 sectional sets. we took up at least 90 minutes of his time. Both my mom and my wife are picky - I know it wasn't easy for him - but he kept his cool and we ended up buying 2 sets and spending over $3000. I purchased a queen mattress, a box spring, the bed frame and a mirror dresser back on 4/30 the delivery was done on 5/17/19. AT the time of the delivery we knew something was not good with the mattress my son and I were puzzled since it didn't felt like the one we had originally selected at the store. I immediately contacted the sales person by the name of Kat Carter and she stated she will check to see if the correct mattress was deliver. On her end she said it was the correct one. Well it happens to be that she notated the incorrect mattress from the initial selection on 4/30/19 she input the wrong mattress and my son ended up with the wrong mattress. Kat Carter mistake not ours that we had to go through all this unnecessary back and forth and un happy customers just because she notated the incorrect mattress. I have spoken to Ben and Robert one of the mattress managers at the indio office. I have spoken to Hayley who rudely hung up the phone on me I have spoken to Nicole this AM and to another lady from corporate. No one has been able to resolve this issue as to why did my son and I had to end up with all this mishaps and unnecessary charges when it was the sales person mistake initially we could have avoided the back and forth and the reselection fee of $199.95. How can Mathis brothers help me?? this is NOT fair its all a sales person error. I know what we picked initially my son was there my parents were there and we know which mattress we picked and it was NOT the one that was deliver to us. I'm asking for a reimburse or credit of the $199.95. I am a frequent customer at Mathis brother yet after this awful experience I will no longer buy there and I will sure warn my family and friends of the unprofessionalism they display. We came to Mathis Brothers after shopping at other big name and small name furniture stores-the store is approximately 20 miles away from our home. We found what we wanted at a great price. After having our furniture delivered we had an issue with one part of our sofa breaking. When I called Mathis Brothers they offered either to replace the sofa or order parts and come fix it. They ordered the parts, came to our house and fixed the breakage. Great service to go with low prices. We love our furniture and Mathis Brothers! read more

I'm happy with the furniture I bought there. Sophisticated design medium grade furniture at a reasonable price. Sales help was decent, and warehouse guys were great! We met Dillion on 6/1/21, when searching for a unique rug. He was very helpful and he flipped a lot of heavy rugs, we were impressed with his eagerness to help us find that special rug. We spotted the rug of choice and we were pleased! The rug was not available in the Ontario store, had to be shipped from Indio store. Dillion contacted me to inform me that the rug was delivered to the Ontario store, I drove over to do a customer pick up and the rug could not be located and there were a few more issues! The beauty in this was how Dillion stayed with it and contacted me and informed that the rug was available a few days later and that he would confirm that the merchandise was correct item and inspect it, wow! Dillion suggested that I come inside the showroom meet him and he would carry the rug out to my vehicle. 5 Stars for Dillion, he made was on top of this matter, Thanks Big Time Dillion. We went today to look at furniture for my Mother-in-Law. We weren't quite sure what we wanted and started in the clearance section to see if we could find a bargain. It was there that we encountered Joshua Bowman...what an amazing young man. In my experience, customer service is a dying art, with most people just looking to make the quick buck. Joshua was extremely patient, even when our choices changed due to my Mother-in-Laws style preferences that threw us for a loop. Joshua walked us through every step of the way, moving us through the showroom and pointing out different facets of certain pieces. We finally settled on a sofa and love seat combo that everyone loved. Joshua then assisted us in getting a mattress that was absolutely perfect and well priced. He was super outgoing, I think he greeted everyone we walked by. He truly makes the customer feel special, getting to know them, finding out their wants/needs and offering himself through the process.
