One of our couch set pillows tore and has a large gaping hole in it. We paid $250 for Mathis to order a new pillow for us. They've ordered the wrong pillow 3 times and dragged this fiasco on for over a year. Every time we call they give us no explanation and say they'd check and call us back which never happens. My husband and I have been calling every month because they NEVER get back to us. This store has the absolute worst customer service. I used to come here to buy all my staging furniture and recommend all my friends, family and clients here, but I will never shop here or recommend Mathis again. read more

Spent a large sum of money on a new mattress and have sat around for 3 hours, an hour longer than I was told. I don't know if they are understaffed or just have bad customer service but I will be taking my business elsewhere next time. They have a large selection but if you want it delivered be prepared to wait around all day for it or pick it up yourself. read more

My wife and I have purchased furniture here for the past 8+ years. Until yesterday we never had a problem with a purchase. Problem was we recently purchased a bedroom set for our son and his wife back about 4 weeks ago. Couple pieces were out of stock, but we were told by the salesman the order would be in and complete in about 2-1/2 weeks. That time came and went, and after a month, I decided to personally go into the store to discuss our options. I was assisted by one of their MOD's named Mac McLeod. This manager could not have been more accommodating to my situation. We ended selecting another bed and keeping all the other pieces which were now in stock. He then went on to make price adjustments to make up for the inconvenience we had experienced. This guy really bent over backwards to make things right and showed that while things don't always happen as they are projected, when it comes time to step up and make a customer feel like a company really does want their business they will show it by action, not just words. So, i put money down on a recliner, night stand, sofa table and 6 bar stools. I take home all items except for the bar stools. When I go back to pick up my bar stools they told me that the order was canceled. I asked you then well if it was cancelled then you owe me money back because I already paid for the protection plan they proceeded to tell me that my money was then credited to other accounts to offset shipping of a chair that was delivered to me which I don't understand how that happened. After getting everything straightened out I come to the store today to purchase my stools and the woman tells me that they are now $20 less than they were when I originally came and I asked her are you sure she says yes they are $20 less so I pay and I go to the pickup area and lo and behold they are completely different bar stools I then have to walk back inside to go through the whole thing again only to look at a lady give me a sour look because she has to change everything the error was made from the serial number being 0 3 0 which was entered to the actual one of 330. I'm not too sure who they are hiring in the store anymore customer service has really gone downhill I've learned that my original and the only person I've ever bought furniture from has now been let go and if this is how customer service here is run I do not recommend coming here prices might be great but customer service sucks read more

Had it delivered to my home, stains on couch and love seat leather chair had two holes in it. 2nd attempt love seat and couch good leather chair worse then the 1st one. 3nd attempt leather chair still bad. called and said I would like money back for chair " $1111.45"; well we can come and get the chair however it will take 7-10 days to get your money back. This is and has been the worst service I have ever had. I will never use them again and would caution anyone that may be considering using them. My experience began my getting approached as soon I stepped foot in the door by a Salesman, Ben. This sales associate continued to walk with us very rapidly through the store as I asked for a certain item. He did not seem to be to knowledgeable about the product I was in search of. While we were walking with this sales associate he was on his phone texting making me feel like my time was not important. It turns out another sales associate was interested in showing me around and that is who he was texting. Now a female sales associate, Iris, approaches and reveals how she is interested personally, very unprofessional. But still agreed to have her show us around. I ended up making a purchase of about 4 pieces; couch, 2 bar stools and coffee table. I know the amount is not a lot to Mathis Bros but i still requested if they would be able to help out with deliver, the delivery would be about 3 miles away. The sale associate agreed to "take care of it." When it came time to check out she had informed me the delivery is usually 75 and she would do it for 40, mind you she was implying free delivery the whole time. Not OK. But i left it at that. Part 2 I came back the next day and spoke with the Iris to add another piece to my order, dining table, increasing the amount of my order and i requested a possible discount for this last piece as it was a large purchase of multiple items. She stated that it would not be a problem and it would even be delivered with my initial order however they were about to close and the associate already had her personal belongings ready to go and did not seem like she wanted to help complete the transaction. She also knew I currently lived 50 miles away. I still agreed to come back in a few days to complete the transaction in order for the piece i added to be delivered at the same time. When I returned on the agreed upon date to complete the transaction Iris was not there. So i had to explain everything to another associate. Then go to the cashier who could not figure out the amount for about an hour and had to get a manager. The manager stated since i added an item to the order the delivery price went up to 75. This did not make any sense but by this time i was over it. I contacted the rep who helps me out and all she said was she could not help me out. Mathis has strict policies on discounts and delivery charges. I feel lied to, cheated and disgusted by the customer service i received and the unwillingness to make things right. read more

The delivery men were very courteous and reminded me that if I was not happy in any way that I have 7 days to return whatever I wanted. Beware!!! My experience was a total nightmare!!! I was ripped off!!! Sold me a broken recliner... Floor model but I paid full price... Even though I paid for the 5-year warranty that they razzle-dazzled me to sell me... They would not repair it or even answer their phone!!! The salesman flat out lied to me... I was defrauded... they told me I had to wait for 3 months if I wanted another one... Salesman told me if I wanted another one it would only take one week but after they delivered it then they changed their story and said I had to wait over 3 months!!! Why did they not disclose that to me before I bought it and had it delivered? Avoid this place at all cost They lie through their teeth and their slimey salesmen don't care about anything except getting the sale even if they have to lie to get it!!! I paid for warranties, delivery... and everything They recommended... and when I finally got my sofa and recliner that was broken... and told them that the recliner leaned forward when I sat on it instead of backward... they gave me the runaround and they said if I want to return it I have to pay restocking fees... I wouldn't give this POS company one star but are force to. We went into the store to buy a couch of our choice. We knew it was going to be a special order and was aware that there would be a delay. So we waited. I hadn't heard from them for awhile so I called. "Yes sir. Your special order is here and will be delivered Saturday". So. I frantically tried to sell my current furniture. We did sell it. So I called again just to confirm. That was Wednesday, " yes sir your delivery is set for Saturday, we'll call before delivery". We went into the store on Thursday to pick up our end tables, because they messed that up too. I then AGAIN confirmed my delivery for Saturday. Again. "Yes sir, your all set for the 1st of August". So here it is 1st of August. So I called just to make sure when they be here. They customer service said. " yes your PICK UP is ready". WHAT? OH HELL NO! Do your self a favor. I customer ordered furniture on November 8th. The order has been delayed 5 months supposedly because of the throw pillows. Then they call me to tell me my order is complete and ready for delivery and they tell me ten minutes before they arrive we don't have the pillows. I asked weeks ago is I could have my order without the pillows and they told me no. I asked for a discount. The refused. I asked for a refund. They refused. All they wanted to give me was used furniture to use until I received my delayed order. Oh and I PAID them in full on November 8th! So they made a mad profit off of me and still did not deliver my order complete and the manager doesn't care. In fact he is callous cold and down right rude. I recently visited mathis brothers for the first time after visiting local shops.i found the local stores had very few choices and the salesmen followed me around just waiting to pounce. They were not for me. I decided to make the drive to mathis brothers and quickly realized I made the right choice. The showroom is enormous, there are quite a few more options, and in this case, our salesman, a gentleman named Adrian Becerra was exceptional. He listened to my wife and myself, he answered any questions we had, he didn't pressure us and was very knowledgeable. He let me know all of my options and made us both feel very comfortable. We were so pleased with Adrian, that we returned to Mathis brothers and purchased more furniture. I would highly recommend Mathis Brothers and especially Adrian Becerra. The worse customer service ever experience. I purchased a sectional and the salesperson told me I would have it in 2 weeks...after 2 weeks with no call as to the delivery date I checked again with the salesperson and was told it was on back order. I waited a few more weeks and was told one piece was missing and it would be getting there in a week. Well we are now headed into August and I was told delivery would now be some time in August. I had enough of their nonsense and finally just cancelled my order. Cancelling my order was completed by a salesperson but told I had to speak to someone else to get my refund. Needless to say The whole process took 45 min. This experience has been extremely frustrating. I will never purchase anything from Mathis Bro's again. They are very deceitful, if I had been told there was a 3 month delay, I would have never purchased anything from them in the first place!! read more

Do keep looking some more because the quality of furniture isnt the best. I purchased new furniture for our families new home and from the kitchen table to the couches its been a headache. The table came chipped and we thought lets just get an exchange but the same thing happened with the second delivery the table was black and you can see the pine in places chipped etc. We end up going back inside the store and chose to go with a "higher priced" table that was gonna hopefully be better quality and it isn't even though we paid more. My child got a splinter on the hand from the chairs not being sanded enough. Plus table gets scuff/scratch marks SO VERY easily..the wood isn't solid and its cheap quality. The paint job/gloss is so cheap that when I clean it with a sponge the table gets scratch marks. After drinking hot tea or coffee the table has white scuff stains that are hard to get out it takes some time days to a week or so for it to not be noticeable. Sadly our couches we ordered "custom made and designed" didn't come how we wanted. The pillows didn't come correctly made with zippers and when we addressed it the manager never called us back. I'm not sure how couches are made but the couches dont have any padding on the back where your back is resting when sitting, so the hard wood frame you can feel against the fabric.. when your pillows are off. You can get hurt (like I did) or in time the fabric will begin tearing from the wood rubbing. My couches are pretty but Mathis bros. quality is poor. Only have had them for a year and a few months and they are tearing where the stitching is! (Underneath the cushions) its unbelievable... no wonder why they try to sell you extra insurance. Sad over all Mathis bros wasn't what we expected and the price tag isn't worth the quality. read more

Totally agree with Anthony S. We places an order on 4/28. It says "in stock" online, but the expected delivery date was to be 6/13. When that date came, we had to call in to check and found out the date was to be 7/5. Same story goes, we called again on that day, and there it was, a new date. Essentially, they took our money when they don't have the goods to deliver. The tough part was, every time I called, I had to chase around sale reps from Ontario to Irvine to Okalahoma City in Oklahoma, each time, no less then 5 of them. And guess what, when they do not want to talk with you any more, they will put you on hold long enough for you to realize that they are just tricking you and never planned to get back to you. So, make sure you ask for name before you talk to anyone over there. We got so frustrated that we decided to cancel the order. And that's not the end of the story. It's been 10 days, and we haven't seen the credit to our account yet. Checked with the sale person 2 days ago, she said she sent it to the right department, but never heard from her again. When they took the order, the charge went in immediately. Now with the refund, another waiting game. And it's not like it's a big piece of money, it's under $200. Total disappointment!! I wonder if the two Mathis brothers who own the business know about all these, how their business is ran and how his people is driving their business name down like that. Our family bought a 1,200 couch. After 4 years the handle that you pull to release the foot rest broke. I called Mathis Bros to check in our warrenty. We had bought the insurance so I asked them if someone could come out and fix it. They sent someone out and and he tried to fix it but couldn't so they called and said the would replace our couch!! So we were all so happy because we can't l dit comfortable because the leg rest does work on our couch this couch is defective!! So the worst part is that they came to deliver the couch and came in and looked at our couch and said we can't have the new couch because there was a dog hair on the couch!!! I was in shock !! There people came in and looked at our couch and said we can't take this couch and give you the new one because they saw a dog hair they even took a picture of the dog hair and got back in there truck and left without giving us the replacement couch!! This is terrible customer service they were determined not to honor there warrenty we had bought the extra insurance . I'm so dissatisfied and very upset. I recently moved to a new home and purchased an enormous amount of furniture from Mathis Bros. I have experienced numerous issues and continue to struggle to have a resolution. Tonight, I spoke with the sales manager, Dan who was incredibly rude. When I told him that I'm still lacking a cushion for my outdoor furniture, his comment was "I'm not surprised. I hear this all the time. Call back tomorrow." When I told him my leather sectional was delivered with different colored sections, he stated, "Well, what do you expect? Cows come in different colors." I told him he was rude and insulting. He told me I needed to get a sense of humor. I don't find any of this funny at all. I would not recommend you to anyone. I simply would like to receive my orders and be done with Mathis Brothers. This type of customer service leads even big companies to their demise. If anyone at Mathis Bros. actually reads this, I sure would appreciate a phone call from a serious representative who would be able to resolve the issues I'm having. read more

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE! We visited looking for a simple recliner for my dad as an early Father's Day present. We must have walked in with our don't bother us shirts on because we were ignored by the 30+ floor staff, none of which were helping other customers. It seems that the personal conversations between employees and checking twitter were more important than helping out a customer. My husband and I found a great table and chairs earlier today at this Mathis Bros. Our shopping experience was good that is until we realized we did not get charged or given the chairs that we had picked out. We realized this 15 minutes into our drive home. We turned around and headed back and my husband proceeded to tell the sales rep that we had not been charged or given the correct chairs.It took almost 2 hours of our time to go back and forth and get the chairs we needed. Cancel the entire order, unload the truck mind you it was just the chairs that needed swamping out. Go back into the store and get charged the right amount and then go back to the receiving area and load back the same table and the correct chairs.It was a ridiculous process that was so inconvenient that I almost cancelled the entire order. Here it was almost 2 o'clock and we were finally headed back on the road. Furniture purchases don't happen often. We usually go to Living Spaces to buy our home furnishing but thought we would go to Mathis Bros but it was a big mistake. Please review your receipt when checking out. I was very disappointment with the service i received. I had to use my furniture protection . Tech come out twice to try to remove stains and was unable to . Finally, they told me they had to replace my love seat and coaches and they would be delivered on 7/5/2020 . A few days later i received a email telling me my couches were on back order till 7/26/2020. Then on 7/5 i received a text my coaches were going to be delivered to my home in 20mins . I rushed home and called Mathis i spoke to customer service and she advised my window was between 2:40pm and 4:30pm and i asked if she can get a hold of driver to get more of a firm time . She put me on hold for 10 to 15 mins and she gets back on the phone and said she spoke to driver and they would be delivered within the hours. MInd you this was 2:30pm so i said ok . I waiting till 3:40pm and i called back again spoke to another customer service and she was going to brush me off too and again she said you should be getting delivered today by 4:30pm . SO i told her can you call and ask where driver is at . She said sure and again on hold for 10-15 mins she gets back on the phone and said she is not sure why they told me i had a delivery scheduled today when my sofa's where on back order till 7/26 /2020 . I spoke to a manger and she was not concerned about the service . She just said sorry . But we can reschedule on 7/26/2020 . Ruin ,my whole day because they did not want to do there job and gave me correct information ... I told them after this i will never shop there . This is not what they promote . I bought a recliner last year and my shopping experience with Mathis Brothers was excellent! The selection was great and I was fortunate enough to have a very professional sales person help me through all the options. Five Stars! Then it broke.......no more reclining. I called customer service over 3 months ago and it still is not fixed. First they had to send the repair notice to a technician who was supposed to respond within 72 hours. That never happened. Back to customer service. After over a month, finally got someone to come to my house and try to repair the chair. No luck, a part was needed. Another month goes by waiting for the part (hey haven't you heard of amazon.com!). Finally the part comes in now its more than two months. Once again a technician was supposed to call within 72 hours. Well, two weeks later and multiple phone calls to customer service the chair is still not fixed. I know everyone is busy but don't make commitments you can't fulfill. So tired of hearing someone will contact me within 72 hours. So a week later the part is in and repair scheduled! Repairman shows up with only part of the part and can't fix the chair! Back to customer service who was so rude! Offered a store credit but I have to bring the chair back myself or they will charge me a $200 delivery charge. Wow. read more

Ordered a custom bed frame. Told it takes 6-8 weeks. Bed frame was delivered at 7.5 weeks. Delivered was a king size bed slat (holds the bed) for a queen size bed. One week after deliver customer service dept. still can't tell me when the correct product will be delivered so the bed can be use. Was told it could take another 8 weeks. I was informed by customer service dept. the request was placed to the manufactor a week ago but they had not heard back. How hard is it to call them to see that they received your electric order and show your customers care to them. They have my money I have an un useable product. read more

I came to Mathis without the intent of buying anything even though I bought nearly all of our furniture from them in the past. I came because I happened to pass by and, honestly, I just want to relax and look around and mind my own business. When I came I went all the way to the side of the store so nobody could see, approach, and influence me into buying their stuff. I was successful at first (lol) but then Joshua (Josh) saw me. He smiled, greeted and, basically says to look for him if I needed anything, then walk away. Basically giving me the space. I like that approach because it honestly gave me the freedom to look around and think about what I like/and don't like about certain stuff at the store, and then have it stored in my head and retrieve it when I needed it. But then, I found this patio set, voila! I was in love. The style is a contemporary sofa in oatmeal.The color, comfort, and quality of the sofa and chairs are superb. The legs and arms are solid and strong, at the same time, it has that feminine touch. The cushions are covered with beautiful, nuvella soft fabric, and the chairs came with beautiful mix pattern throw pillow. I chose this set because I was hoping it will able to stand this crazy super windy weather in IE, so far it still holding. Ultimately, what convinced me buying this product is (1) quality and style, and (2) quality of service I received from Joshua. He explained everything to me including quality, prices, other options, warranties, etc. without being too pushy. He is also super funny so I had the great time. I considered Joshua's customer service as the best I have ever received so thank you!!! read more

Terrible customer service!!!! They have screwed up the pick up and delivery of my couch cushion repair 6 times now. We moved and I've called them a dozen times to correct our new address and they keep going to our old address. They say it's a glitch in their system. So I'm not the only one? And I've been told the manager would call me and I haven't been called yet! This place just wants your money and won't go out of their way to make things right after they've got it. I've received my email confirmation this morning that I'm scheduled for delivery today from 2-4pm....AT MY OLD ADDRESS again!!!!!!!!!!! This place is a joke. My wife and I are so upset with their customer service, we purchased about $18,000 worth of furniture, we have been dealing with my two chairs, each $1,700, they promised to fix or replace since the beginning of 2017, also they refused to replace a $2200 marble table that was delivered defected since last December!!!! They said it was never documented but they never read the notes on receipts the delivery guys noted when they dropped off the furniture! Customer service almost never returns phone calls, except for one that helped us get store credit for other pieces we exchanged and was nice, management was very rude, we were being tossed around from one manager to another for over a year, and being lied to. i wish we would have read all the other negative reviews they had before we went there to shop, PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF FROM ALL THE STRESS, DO NOT SHOP THERE!!!! read more

Waited 15+ weeks for a couch that was supposed to take 8-12 tops. Called weekly only to be passed around each time, with the blame being shifted from person to person. Seems the "correct" person I was supposed to talk to was always "gone, doesn't work that day, left early..." Couch finally came only to have the delivery person put in the wrong address and show up an hour and 10 mins after my phone conversation said 20 mins. My wife visited this place several weeks ago to purchase a sectional couch. She sent me pictures of the couch as I wanted to make sure that it was leather. Both the signing as well as the salesman Derek stated that the sectional was leather. Upon delivery I took a good look at the couch and noticed it was faux leather and not real leather. I visited the Mathis Brothers website and sure enough the website stated it was faux leather as well. Over $5k for a faux leather couch!!! So my wife called back and they agreed to pick up the piece delivered, cancel the remainder of the order, and refund the entire purchase price. Today my wife called to inquire on the remainder of our refund and spoke to a Jacqueline, who was adamant that we would not receive the delivery price back, enough though my wife thoroughly explained that they had misrepresented their product. After a little back and forth my wife asked to speak to a manager, and Jacqueline stated that a manager was not available and that they had all gone home for the day. No manager on duty? Who is tasked to close the place up at the end of the day? At first I appreciated that they owned their mistake and felt like all would end well. I am so disappointed trying to reach service department to know what are my options to switch my mattress, have not heard from a person that works there specifically I was told that Deborah does not want to talk to me regarding this and to wait 30 days so I can talk about this. My sales rep Rosa Ortiz is not help at all once she got her commmision she forgot about me since I can't talk to anyone else, as of now I have not received the furniture protection plan that i paid on 12/28 Deborah from Services said First this was supposed to be given to me at the time I paid for my furniture so she blamed it on sales Rep Rosa Ortiz and she said she sent it next day UPS today is January 8 and never received it, sorry I used to be a loyal customer but your store has changed so much on customer service and satisfaction I will NEVER EVER purchase furniture from you again, no wonder I saw so comments reviews from customers that went to your store at Mathis Brothers at Ontario. The Ontario store's sales person Christina Esposito always want sale expensive furniture to you but next year she will say : all style is not old fashion . You should put to yard sale . She also show pretty picture to cheating client and driver ugly furniture. But the company's customer service all don't take responsibility. They deliver a shake bed that keeping say they try to fix . But after 3 months they say: thru can't fix and already over 7 days so can't return . They want me show why another company's bed stable and not shake . I emailed picture to them . This place has the worst service and delivery department in the world. First of all, our recliner broke and we asked them to pick it up and repair. We were charged $200 which we didn't mind since they do have costs. I get it, However, they were supposed deliver it on a Wednesday and didn't even show up! No call, nothing! I then called Scott (the service manager) and he told me they would deliver it on Super Bowl Sunday so we spent the day waiting for them to show and Nothing! So we are still wothout our recliner and have not even received a call. This place is garbage. read more

Horrible customer service, I had trouble from the beginning. Two days after the purchase I called the sales girl that was very helpful IN THE BEGINNING. When I asked her for the corporate number she said she had no idea what the number was, I than asked for a manager, she hung up on me. They will not allow you to call corporate ever. When employees behave this way, they are usually following their leaders. This lack of care for the customers, will cause this company to fail, not today and perhaps not tomorrow, but eventually, it will happen, THEY DONT CARE.... I special ordered couches 3,500 dollars purchase Sept 9th, should have been ready Dec 3rd, got the run around ie hang ups, to find out they haven't been made and will be ready Feb 3, 2018. Called with a question regarding a sale my husband and I seen on TV and the sales rep sherell was extremely rude and did not know her promotions. When we asked about the deal she stated she didn't watch TV commercials nor did any of the other associates, she stated if it's on sale it's until we run out. We have purchased multiple items for our home from Mathis brothers and always have a great experience until today so if you want to purchase from a sales rep make sure it's not Sherell or you could be missing out on promotions since she doesn't know what they are. read more

When you first go, you can see that they are taking COVID-19 very seriously by adhering to CDC guidelines. They screen every person before entry with a verbal questionnaire and take your temperature (device doesn't come in contact with your skin). They provide complimentary masks and blankets to use to sit/lay on the furniture. Rosemary was our sales agent and she was the best! We let her know that we were going for a coastal farmhouse look in our new home and she took care of the rest. We looked for a living room couch set and a bedroom set. Within a few minutes, she found us an amazing deal on a designer sofa, loveseat, and matching chair within our budget. One of the items was marked as sold, but not in their inventory system. She spoke with 2-3 different managers to point out the error on the floor and to ensure that we got the discounted price. She also showed us the bed set we wanted very quickly. She got our vision and understood our wants and needs. Just be aware that some shipments are delayed due to COVID, but luckily we only have 2 pieces of the bedroom set that will be delivered in 6-8 weeks (we move in 2-3 weeks so it works out pretty well). If you go to Mathis Brothers, ask for Rosemary! Especially if you have a design and budget in mind. She was very honest about the quality, knew what we wanted for interior design, and was able to match us with pieces very quickly. read more

Upon entering the store we were mobbed by the sales force.We actually got lucky and hooked up with someone not so pushy. We Were immediately rushed upstairs to the higher end merchandise but found furniture to our liking and made a purchase [cash]. Thats the good news. The bad is that a portion of our furniture was forced delivered [some items were backordered & even though we wanted everything to be delivered at the same time,they insisted that we took partial delivery]. Of the few items delivered, two were damaged and one piece was not even close to what we ordered. 4 weeks later we're still awaiting delivery of the bulk remainder. read more
