We had an excellent experience here. Our sales rep Gabriel Hall was awesome! He walked us through our purchase and return of damaged merchandise. He returned our phone calls promptly and was very helpful. All of the young men(Anthony,Eliezer,Matt) in merchandise pick up and returns were very helpful and accomodating in getting our furniture loaded, unloaded and returned and wrapped. We found chairs that seem to be good quality for the price. We specifically asked about delivery charges and communicated the city we live in. We were told $99 for both chairs. During the checkout process the salesperson said something about joining a delivery service membership for $69 to get a delivery discount. We declined because it was our first purchase there and didn't know if we would be back. After checkout we discovered we were charged significantly more and questioned the person at the concierge desk located by the front door. We were told delivery was actually $149 plus 3% of purchase price. He told us we had to join the membership to get the $99 delivery. Say what??? The delivery charges are high and the process is very deceptive. Adding three percent to the overall cost is just a sneaky way of charging a higher price after the sale is made. Bought a beautiful sectional and after a few months the buttons on tucking started falling off, one by one. Mathis replaced each piece two times, but finally had to replace it. We picked out another beautiful sectional and less than one year after receiving it, it started to "pill up" in the places we sat to watch tv. Such a shame, little pieces of thread sticking up all over those places. The original cost was over $2000. What a waste! Never buying from them again. read more

My wife and I went to Mathis Bros. looking for a recliner. We had already shopped LazyBoy and Ashley. Expected to be shadowed by salesperson. John Sawyer met us at the entrance, asked what we were looking for and took us to the recliner area. He left us look on our own for quite a while before returning to see if he could help us find what particular features we were looking for. We never felt any pressure nor did we feel he was steering us to pricier chairs. John was exceptionally helpful and helped us find the perfect recliner. My review is based on the customer service today that myself received while purchasing my new bed...my sales rep was Manny (who was great) my issue was that he informed us that we would qualify for $150 gift card, after confirming with the cashing out rep he asked his supervisor who informed him we were not eligible due to the price...We called over Manny to let him know it didn't qualify and the supervisor Daniella informed him it wasn't, but It's a way to to talk to a person she was very rude and combative with him, when the sales rep was informing him he spoke with someone that it did...it was the most unprofessional and most uncomfortable situation I have been in watching her go back and forth with the rep(manny)to the point I wanted to totally cancel my sale and leave, I had even told the young man who was helping us to just forget it I want to go, I'm not that pressed over $150...after I went immediately to tell my concern about the sales supervisor desk where you pay to the manger on duty...we talked to Dan giacomazza (manger) who informed us that we wouldn't be eligible for the $150 but qualified for free delivery, I let him know I wasn't concerned about the $150 my concern was how your employee was rude and combative with another sales rep in front of customers and that Daniella should maybe be trained on how to speak amongst other employees and a training on professional verbiage in the workplace....that type of going back and forth should never happen in front of customers...it's not what you say it's how you say it...other than that I thank manny and dan for there help and professionalism... thanks read more

I bought a beautiful dining table and 4 chairs. The quality was and still is in excellent condition. I was watching a friends dog. The dog chewed the leather on the corner of one of my chairs. I called and spoke with a female manager who was totally unconcerned and unprofessional. I was honest and told her what happened. I told her I bought an extended warranty as well. She said " Every thing you purchased is void of any coverage." I said you mean I don't get my chair covered and she said "you get nothing". You have animals and that voids all your coverage. So if you have animals and if anything happens to your furniture don't tell them you have animals in the house. She said it was in my contract. All I had was a big receipt yellow or orange and nothing about animals was mentioned. I asked to speak to someone else but told I couldn't because she was the manager and there wasn't anyone higher. If I could give no stars I would but had to give one. read more

I was treated well when buying a lane recliner that had to be custom ordered and cost around $900. I love the recliner but the material was fraying after 4 months. Their customer service was friendly and said they are going to replace the chair. I am happy with them but it took a few follow up calls and maybe the salesperson could have known this material wasn't very durable. read more

Hello I bought a computer desk online on October 8 and was told I should receive it in 5-7 business days and it was coming from a vendor. Almost 25 days later after numerous calls and a trip into the store and getting different stories as to why and when I would receive it I finally received it on October 30. I had to pay someone to put it together and low and behold was missing a part. I called in and was told to send it back,, Did the person not hear me when I said I PAID SOMEONE TO PUT IT TOGETHER ?? and was not going to have them undo it and pay for that. OMG.. I finally got back to a person I had previously spoke to on one of the 10 or so calls I had made about the whereabouts of the desk and whom I believe had some common sense and she said she would contact the vendor and have someone contact me about the part. I do not believe I will buy anything else from them. I got nothing but the run around the entire time and they acted like they were doing me a favor. Eugene- a Mgr in the Ontario store and Natalie a Supervisor in online Customer service tried to help but it just got worse.. VERY DISAPPOINTED.. Should have used my first mind and bought the desk at Ashley Furniture where 97% of my furniture has come from but found a desk l liked at Mathis Brothers so I thought I would try them... If I had the option of no stars, I would select. This review is solely on customer service, which by reading the hundreds of reviews, I would say that Mathis Brothers has a serious problem in this department. From the moment I walked into the facility, I already felt overwhelmed. I was instantly greeted by a female associate Cathy Lee. I honestly didn't think she was an employee because she was on her cell phone and carrying around a purse. She proceeded to walk me through the facility, not once asking what I was looking for, rather showing me furniture I had no use for. I politely made it clear I just wanted to look around but was constantly followed. I was pressured I to running my credit score to finance furniture. I had told her I was wanting to pay cash but again persuaded into running my credit, which instantly dropped my credit score. After being denied credit, I was pushed to see my options for other financing. I spoke with someone at the acceptance now office and was basically told that I would be paying double in interest if I signed with this company. I didn't catch his name but he was the most honest person I spoke with at this point. Realizing that I wasn't going to go with that option I told Cathy that I needed to speak with my boyfriend before purchasing anything with cash because the item I wanted was a large amount. She not only mention it three times that she was working on commission and wanted to know when I would be returning because she would be be getting the commission off my purchase. I was in such shock of how unprofessional she was I was speechless. She then proceeded to say that she was leaving for the day shortly and that her partner would be able to "help" me out when I returned at a later time and that I need to see him if she isn't present because she would still get a commission off his sale, if I was to buy. Again, so UNPROFESSIONAL. After telling me this again, she introduced me to her "partner" Albert. In mid conversation with Albert, he walks away from me and starts to use his cell phone. I honestly felt like I was in the twilight zone. I didn't know if I wanted to cry or vomit. I was completely sick to my stomach at how I was being treated. After walking out completely disgusted, I was informed by a very good friend that if I wanted the proper customer service I was to speak with Lawerence Jenkins. I immediately called after I left and was transferred to him. I can not tell you the instant satisfaction I felt after only talking to this gentleman for the 12 minutes I was able to speak to him. I'm leaving the rest of this review in the hands of this sweet man in hopes that he can turn this horrendous experience around. read more

I ordered a bedroom set back on May and I got the delivery date two weeks after, long story short after a month going back and forth I had to cancel the order. Again I went back to the store and choose a set and I asked if they had the set in store and they said yes. The delivery date was the day after (Sunday) since is the only day off I have. surprise when they got there they couldn't put it together, and said that they will deliver the next day (Monday)I work 1 hour from my house and my schedule is literally from 8 to 8 (reason why I requested Sunday) I accommodate to leave early and Waited from 4 to 6. I had a called and have to leave my house, before I left I called them to ask if they knew approx how long it was going to take the driver to get to my house. They said they are doing the 2nd delivery and you are number 7.your delivery time is between 7;10 to 7;40 I asked if there was a way to schedule after 7:30 so I will have plenty of time to come back, she said she was going to ask the delivery department. 10 min later I got a call we are 10 min away from your house. anyway I couldn't come back before they left. MY PROBLEM is that the furniture is all over my room I am sleeping in the living room on the couch and my closet and restroom is blocked because the pieces have not been assemble. I cannot take another day off. I will wait until Sunday for them to come and PICK EVERYTHING UP!!!! read more

This place is like the Disneyland of furniture shopping. The location is MASSIVE and everything in it is so nice. The low end furniture is still very nice and quality made and the high end stuff is just gorgeous! The displays are so nicely done to get ideas of how to do your own home. The sales staff is equally top notch. Our Salesman, Jair Luna was excellent. He wasn't the least bit pushy and gave my Mom plenty of space and patience to shop around and look at everything. Very polite and knowledgeable, a real pleasure to conduct business with. The staff at the payment area was equally awesome - they had all the answers to our questions and were so nice! Again, same story with the dudes that loaded our truck up. They wrapped up all the furniture in plastic and tied it into our truck very professionally. Great experience in addition to the fantastic furniture we totally SCORED on. They have the best prices and we saved SO much money on very nice pieces. I came in to purchase a bedroom suite. I had already looked on line and wanted to see a particular suite. I was fortunate to have Steve Hermansen as my sales associate. He was professional and extremely helpful during the entire transaction. I wanted to use the zero percent interest program and Steve knew exactly what to do to get the account open for me. He even went a step further and gave me his cell number to call if I had any questions. I did have an occasion to call him and he took care of my questions immediately. Later in the day, I decided I wanted one more piece of the bedroom set so I called Steve and he took care of getting everything ready so I could pick it up the next day. I have purcgaed two rooms of furniture from the Ontario store. Large Selection average prices. No quality control. All but one pice came with some damage. They are good about either replacing or discounting but it's always a hassle. The bed frame shown in the store would not fit a standard queen.so they had to bring one that I did not like as well.mwaited over two months for sofa and it had a stain on the arm. Dresser had a large scratch. Check your furniture before they leave or before you take it. Throughly inspect each piece read more

Mathis Bros selection was good, but they did not have all items in stock. The first time they delivered they only brought 2 of 3 items. The missing item was supposed to be transferred from another store. It took four more weeks to get it. The delivery guys were prompt, courteous, and efficient. Customer service for solving problem with couch bought 3 years ago was amazing! Above and beyond call of duty!

Beware of the warranty! Bought an 1800 couch and was convinced to buy a very expensive warranty that seemed like a good idea. Now that it is time to use the warranty, cannot seem to get the work done in a timely manner. I was quoted 3 to 5 days, not done on day 5, told it was done on day 8 , drove 45 min to pick up only to be told when I got there it was not done. After the in person apology, I was told it would be done next day. I called on day 10, a Friday, and I am being told they have run out of material and need until Monday. Wow, exactly when did they run out if material? And why am I always calling for an update? And of course when I call, the alleged material just came in. ...what a coincidence. I have spent over 10k in this store and I like the furniture and have referred people that I know have spent thousands in there. I am no longer a fan. I think the customer service has gone down hill and that is a sad thing. read more

I agree that the salesmen follow you around but what Im most unhappy about is the purchase of their Lady Americana brand of bed. Spent nearly $1300 on a pillow top mattress and it sucks. Salesman was saying how it compared to Sealy, etc. In store it felt great. We have had it since Dec of 2013 and the corners of the mattress as well as the sides of the mattress bend downward. So its like we are sleeping at a downward sloped angle with our heads below the level of of our torso and feet, or the middle of the mattress is up high so when we try to roll over toward the middle of mattress we are going uphill. Im sooo pissed to have wasted this $$$. When you get off the bed the mattress looks ok but as soon as u get on it it slopes in. DONT BUY A LADY AMERICANA BRAND MATTRESS EVER FROM THEM!!!!! Rip off. He was very knowledgeable and conscientious about making my purchase from the clearance floor one I would not regret. He even went out of his way to locate a specific dresser that he knew was on clearance but we couldn't easily find. We have purchased high end leather from the upstairs section as well as a sofa and love seat from downstairs, and I was given the same exceptional customer service then as with my recent purchase from the clearance room. The manager, Eugene, was very helpful and also assisted Charles in helping me find what I was looking for. This store is the only place I shop for home furnishings. read more

My husband and I recently purchased some furniture from Mathis Brothers. Our experience was outstanding! We went on a Tuesday afternoon so it wasn't busy. Our sales associate, Lawrence Jenki, really listened to our needs and showed us pieces that met our needs. The selection was incredible. We found several pieces and had a difficult time trying to make a decision. Once we got home and remeasured our area, we decided that the loveseat was going to take up too much room. We called Lawrence and he was able to change our order over the phone and swap out the loveseat for a chair and ottoman. He sent me pictures of the pieces to ensure I was 100% satisfued, Customer service took care of the delivery and we got what we wanted. The furniture was delivered yesterday and it arrived during the 3 hour window that it was promised. The delivery men were pleasant and professional. I found a spot on the chair that looked like a factory defect and they said it would be exchange with no problem. They left the chair and the new one will arrive tomorrow. No hassle, just courtious and professional service. We will definitely buy form Mathis Brothers again. The selection, the prices and the customer service can't be beat! read more
