Let's start at the end-Jan 25, 2020: the delivery arrived and I got my sofa after 12 weeks. If you ever shop here start backwards and ask about delivery dates etc. and when you have to sign the 2 pounds of contracts to buy your furniture, bring along your own contract and hold them to some ridiculous terms like they do to the customers. I know I would've just for fun. I'm writing this with the full intention of never ever buying anything from this company again and I would be doing a disservice to everyone I know or people who don't know what they're in for when they go shop at Mathis Bro's. Here's what happened before that day... 1. Jan 23rd 2020: My delivery request when speaking to the Sales Manager Sean Davison included me politely asking if I could get an early delivery-interrupted by Sean..." let me stop you right there. That's not gonna happen." Go ahead and review the call recording and tell me that did t happen. Very rude, unprofessional..and a manager? I have an old vacuum that does a better job at cleaning up messes. If there's an opening for that job, maybe you can hire my vacuum cleaner. 2. Dec 20-something 2019: Called for any update about my order Two months after paying for the order-I was told my order details weren't even in the computer. I thought maybe this was a mistake but no... I was told that the order wasn't in the system and I could try to check closer to my delivery date. Confusing huh? How am I supposed to check delivery when Mathis Bros doesn't even have the order in the system? She was rather short with me but that makes sense now faced the same short/rude cut off the customer manner of speaking as the namager-so what not? The boss speaks like that to customers... why shouldn't she? Am I right? 3. Nov 9, 2020: walked into MB in Ontario. I'm briskly approached my sales staff and ask for some space. Then I'm stalked by that same gentleman for about 20 minutes. I pretended to be a plant and finally ditched the surveillance. Once I figured out what I wanted an decide to purchase, the paperwork comes out and it's like I'm buying a car or a gun... maybe the same amount of paperwork as both? When did this happen-it's a $1300 sofa, or did I inadvertently commission a Michael Angelo painting? I was then told, it's 8-12 weeks... yes. 8-12. I went ahead and agreed. I wasn't in a rush and I would suggest no one ever be in a rush if you shop there. read more

UPDATE: I contacted Mathis Brothers via the email address suggested below 3 weeks ago and have heard nothing from them. I helped my mom pick out this "genuine Italian leather" reclining sofa and loveseat set about 7 years ago from Mathis Brothers and this is what it looks like now. 5 years ago, little pieces started to fleck off and they are as thin as tissue paper. Now it is really hideous. I really fail to understand how anyone could call that leather, especially a company that markets its products as high end. I can't remember what we paid for it, but it was the most expensive piece of furniture my parents have ever purchased. read more

BUYER BEWARE, make sure you inspect the stitching and cushion on every sectional couch piece that you purchase from Mathis Brothers. BEWARE of Mathis brothers 1 year warranty.. first they sell me a defective sectional over a year ago.. none of the cushion was memory foam like they advertised online even floor model. I had to send each pieces at a time to have it re- stuffed after I noticed months after I purchased. After they stuffed the sectional, I notice they did a half ass stitching job than began to unravel. I cant make this up, I literally was going to furnish my new house with Mathis Brothers . It took us 6 months to get our dresser after we bought a whole set and received everything but the dresser. We had to make SEVERAL calls for them to tell us next month every time we called. We asked for a supervisor to call us about another issue and no call back. Very bad customer service. We spent A LOT of money there too. read more

I'd give them no stars if I could. I purchased a custom order with the understanding I would need the sofa within 8 weeks. While the sales order says 10-12 weeks my sales person Amir said I would indeed have it by 8 weeks. Reality, not only did I not get it within 8 weeks but I also did not have it for Christmas. I've had to call multiple times to check on it while the sales person Amir has never called to give us update. I still don't have my sofa going on 10 weeks. Mathis has offered no compensation other than to say sorry. Avoid this salesperson at all cost. I will no longer purchase anything from Mathis nor would I ever recommend them. Buyer beware! Update - Mathis followed up with me to send them an email and still no response. This has got to be the worse customer service I have ever experienced. Well, it's been nearly two years since my original review. I did contact Rick S through the email he provided, and included all documentation. Never heard back. We have a pretty busy life around here, and unfortunately I couldn't devote hours a week to following up. As seen in the photo below, when the cushion cover is made of good, durable material, the chair is very nice. When sub-standard material is used though, which is the case with 6 of our 8 chairs, the result is rather disappointing. I ended up going here as 4 months ago I bought a couch from Bobs Discount and it continues to get delayed, I went to Mathis Brothers to see what they had, within 4 days I got my couch delivered and it is perfect! the delivery personnel were amazing too, very friendly, clean and helpful, I will def. be back to Mathis brothers and to see Corey for all my Living room furniture, he has also text me, followed up to make sure I loved my couch. This is a review for their furniture warranty which I paid extra for. DON'T GET IT!!!!! I was told by my salesman Rickie, that if and when the couch gets dirty, their service would clean it and if they cannot get it clean, they will replace it. We had some stains on our couch which were covered (some stains are not). It took about 3 months to get someone out, but the first guy was only assisting the situation. The following week, someone else came out with a bucket and a brush...he made it worst. For the last six months I have been given the run-a-round by everyone at Mathis, and I mean everyone. Now Mathis is saying that no one ever came out!!!! I am so frustrated with them, I will NEVER SHOP AT MATHIS BROTHERS AGAIN. They do not stand behind there product. read more

MATHIS BROS. is the worst place to buy furniture!!! I would give the ZERO STARS if I could. They are very attentive & helpful in purchasing furniture. But, God forbid, you need help due to a faulty parts on your furniture!!! I purchased a "sofa & love seat" & in less than a year, the motor stopped working on one end of the sofa leaving the foot part up. It obvious will no longer be useful. I have called dozens times for help. All they do is give me a run around. No one cares I spent a couple thousand dollars & now I can no longer use one end of my sofa. Needless to say, I am furious!!! NEVER BUY PROTECTION PLAN..... I spent a significant amount of money at this place a few years ago and bought a five-year protection plan since my furniture is light in color. An accident happened, and I called customer service to take care of it and was given the service company number to call. I called them, and they denied it even though I still have 3+ years left in my warranty. I called back the Mathis brother and spoke to a very kind person named Shantal, and she tried to help but was unsuccessful, so she brought her manager for further assistance. The manager told me she could not help because I bought the warranty from a third party. Say what? I paid the money to Mathis's brother when purchased the accidental warranty, not the 3rd party. I don't care about the 3rd party. Mathis's brother's manager literally blew me away by saying sorry. Please take caution and do not buy any warranty from them, or you will regret it. read more

She was professional, knowledgeable, patient and most importantly she listened. She made our customer experience second to none. Don't purchase anything here!!!! They have shady practices. I ordered a couch and wasn't able to make a payment via phone because their Sales person made a mistake on the address. The sofa wouldn't have been ready for 3 months long enough for them to know if my payment wasn't valid. I spoke to the Sales Manager who said "sorry I can't override the rules"...... Worst Service ever. Got the same sectional for less! UPDATE 1/26/2020 Can't believe this one.... the sales person called back explaining that the sectional wasn't ordered because we didn't make a payment. I told her she was correct. I messaged a sales member with the exact specifications I wanted in the recliner I was looking for. I also requested that if that particular person couldnt assist me either because of time or knowledge on what I was seeking then to pls forward my list of specifications to a colleague that could. I received a phone call from someone else sometime later saying they got the message but at the same time didnt seem to know what I was looking for. After explaining it a bunch of times and being made to hold forever on the phone while they do their job of searching. Finally I said I couldnt stay on anymore. I later received an email with the most hideous chairs I have ever seen. None looked even remotely what I was looking for and my google search was 1,000 xs better than the 3 pics this guy sent me. I replied again with my specifics and told him none of the chairs matched my description and were ugly and unusually expensive although I was prepared to pay for the right chair. Came in last weekend and was greeted with a big smile from a women named Loura, my boyfriend and I were looking for a dining set, and she was so amazing, she was very knowledgeable, and seemed to have very good taste, unfortunately we did not purchase anything just yet but I will be requesting Loura from now on. I didn't feel like I was talking to a salesman I felt like I was talking to a friend, seems trustworthy. The store section is pretty overwhelming at first but luckily she was able to give us a tour of the 2 story furniture beast of a store lol. On 1-29-18 my dresser and night stand were redelivered. The delivery men placed the furniture on my driveway after I asked them too because I wanted to inspect it before bringing it up to my bedroom. The furniture looked great and the delivery men placed it where it needed to be. This should of really been done correctly the first time. No reason such a large hole on the back of the dressed was missed the first time around. Needless to say everything turned out fine. 3/7/18 purchased a 3 piece coffee and side Tables set and once I opened the box at home to start building the first price I see is damaged. First, we purchased two side tables Feb 19, and were supposed to be delivered to us on Friday Feb 21. After waiting till 3pm on Friday, I called the store to get an update. I was told that Friday delivery was just an estimate, but they could deliver on following Monday. DO NOT BUY EXTENDED WARRANTY!!! Absolute rip off!! We bought a 5 year extended warranty on two recliners that were not cheap to begin with!! Completely falling part after just 2 years!!. Leather or whatever fabric or material it is, has begun to completely break down. They lead you to ineligibility during warranty interview. When you have a problem (broken or defect) they just say "sorry that manufacture is out of business but we'll give you a credit to keep the furniture" not a refund so you can get something different a credit and you keep the broken furniture. Purchased a couple couches 7 months ago the recliner has never worked. They try fixing it a few weeks after I purchased it and they tell me that I need other parts so I waited another two months technician comes out says the part that the guy installed previous was not right, so I waited a few more months and here I am 7 to 8 months later a couch I spent close to $7000 on and still doesn't work. No one here in the service department or the manager will help me they tell me I have to wait four more weeks for more parts but I'm like couches never worked. We just had the greatest shopping experience at Mathis! We were greeted near the front entrance by Brandon Berendsen and he asked us what we were looking for. He was just phenomenal and took us throughout the entire store looking for a sectional. We are pretty particular and he showed us exactly what we wanted to see without wasting our time. He was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. He was also very engaging and easy to chat with; which made it a fun outing and not a stressful chore. read more

2 and a half months, I was able to find the correct bed for this set online at another furniture dealer, Mathis did refund me the amount of the bed, since i could not get it from them, though it was not an even trade, technically Mathis shorted me 8 dollars on my bed refund but I'm not going to worry about it, just glad I found what I've been looking for somewhere else, and never have to deal with Mathis ever again. At no point during this process has anyone from Mathis called or tried to follow up with all of my complaints, as far as they know I have all the dressers and still no bed to match! , Mathis continued to refuse to return the set and issue a refund for an incomplete bedroom set. This is a place that you should run away from. My furniture that I have received so far is beautiful. Customer service and communication on delivery sucks. I have been extremely patient. I have never received an explanation of delivery except next week for the delivery. Next week has been next week for weeks. Today again I called. Again next week. I was told manufacturers are in Orange County. I then asked about cancelling. 40% fee because it is special order. I will say with all the people I have dealt with that Robert the sales manager has been the absolute best. Thank you Robert for your help. We do appreciate your professionalism.
