They both sincerely enjoy their time here and love the confidence the extra training has given them. As a parent, I am eternally grateful. My 8th daughter wants to enroll in the JSerra Medical Magnet program. Math is a critical component of these entrance exams and is very challenging. I learned very quickly how challenging high school math is with my older son. We worked with Roel to show him where she was and where she needed to be - specifically she needed tutoring in concepts she was not going to cover in her normal curriculum. I was skeptical at first - but Roel was completely confident. They placed her on a program and within in 4 months she was testing 20% higher. Her confidence was through the roof and she became a sponge to learn more. She just received her HSPT results and scored in the top 10% mathematically!! She is not in GATE or Honors currently - but with the help of RSM Mathnasium you would never know it. Her growth in math has been incredible. I also have a 5th grader here that loves it just the same. Her confidence is also sky high and her performance has improved tremendously. She enjoys the reward system and being able to track her progress. They feel at home here. As a parent I could not ask for more! I chose Mathnasium for their hours flexibility (yeah for Sunday hours!) and their ability to have a curriculum separate from the school norm - so the can learn at their pace and not be limited or rushed. Came here to seek help for my 10 year old who experienced anxiety over math and specifically the methods used to memorize math facts. The program has taught my son how to quickly calculate rather than memorize, which has done wonders for his confidence. His anxiety has been significantly reduced when it comes to math and he's progressing right in line with his grade level. My 3 girls love Mathnasium! We have gone to them for support and tutoring a few times over the last three years. Whenever I tell my girls that it's time to visit Mathnasium again, they get excited. The staff makes learning math exciting. They also assess each individual student to see exactly what concepts they have a full grasp of and what concepts need help. They then fine tune each student's tutoring to exactly what they need to grasp a specific concept. The student works until they think they have a full understanding of the concept and are then assessed again, to see if they truly do. If so, the student moves to the next concept. If not, they work more with the student to fine tune their understanding until they have a complete grasp of the concept. Also, Roel and Elizabeth are amazing people that care so much about the kids. Daughter went here. Very expensive $$$ compared to other franchises in Mission Viejo. Daughter stated she shared time with 3 -4 students per instructor per hour. There only 20 mins each while you pay for an hourly rate. That's 40 mins we paid and other 2 kids parents paid and they don't get dedicated time either. We took our kid to the place in same city that gives her full hours that we pay for and on all subjects. It's paying off for her. read more

My son is in 10th grade at Santa Margarita catholic High School SM. He's taking all honors classes and one of them is honors geometry. I wish I could give them more stars. My son has been going regularly for the past 8 months and my wife and I couldn't be more pleased with every aspect of their program. He was having trouble in geometry when we enrolled him and in only six weeks his grades went from C-D to A's. After the initial evaluation, Roell sat down with us and lined out a plan that made sense and has kept us constantly updated on his progress and any changes. My son now actually looks forward to having math homework and the confidence he has developed has spilled over into all of his other subjects. My 9yo daughter is now enrolled, even though she has no problems with math. They pre-teach chapters directly from the book she uses in school and her confidence has gone through the roof as well. We went to discuss our boys need... the methods sounded great and it seemed like what we wanted to do... until I heard 99 for assessment, 99 for registertion... really?? At 299/month I think there will be a commitment from us specially since we are saying go ahead with the assessment... we are coming from Kumon so we are committed to spending the money. We are looking for more effective program and are willing to pay the extra money whatever that is, but to pay an assessment fee because the director of the program tells me they are like a lawyer, and we have to pay for his 13 years of knowledge in math to assess our kid is a cheesy, used car sales man way of doing business. read more

Our daughter, a high school freshman, was seriously struggling in Geometry. Each day was met with new frustrations. When looking for a math tutor for both of my sophomore girls, I never thought Mathnasium would fit their needs. This tutoring is not only for the elementary and middle school child, but for higher math in high school. My 5th grade son has been coming here for about 2 years and I attribute Mathnasium for his consistent A's in school. They not only help with current assignments, but they teach ahead of grade level for kids that are doing well and understanding concepts. This has helped a ton because by the time my son learns something in school, he is already familiar with it from Mathnasium. Roel has been great about communicating progress and holding my son accountable for quality work. Scheduling is easy with lots of flexible times and they are fantastic at accommodating busy schedules and confirming appointments. I would love to see my son continue all the way through high school. Great folks over there. Kids like the environment, and they learn a lot. Really pleasant environment and people. I have a messy situation with my ex-wife, they are very good and work with on scheduling. I have two kids in class there twice per week. I have definitely noticed an improvement in both kids. I would not recommend using Mathnasium. Way over priced. Most tutors are high school students. You can easily find your neighbor high school student who is just as qualified and pay less than half the price. Not to mention there is not one on one attention. Director of the center is extremely hard to work with. Save the money and go somewhere else! read more
