They are very flexible and Poonam, the director of the center, welcomes collaboration with you and your child to make sure the experience is as meaningful as possible. They were even willing to work with us to make sure the work done for Kumon would meet the requirements of my 5th grader's homework from his teacher. The staff (Sidney and Colby) are highly skilled and friendly, and the facility is inviting and very clean. I believe we just hit a year, which means my son started just after his 4th birthday to get a jump start on reading before he entered Kindergarten in Aug 2021. He IS reading above his level with the help of the wonderful tutors. After each class, they give me a status report on what he's working on, how he's progressing and what hiccups he might be having so I can work with him at home. One thing I really love is that the tutors have remained consistent over the last year (meaning, my son sees the same tutors week after week). He really looks forward to going each week, going through the easy-to-follow lessons, and earning reward points. Admittedly, my son did start young and the patience I saw in each of the tutors was admirable. Teachers are gold! Though we briefly stopped attending in March due to COVID, when the facility was able to open up again, the safety/sanitary standards they put place to be in compliance was impressive to say the least. I feel 100% safe and confident they will keep my boy safe. Kudos to Jason, Daisy, Tia, and the whole team at the Tutoring Club of Mission Viejo! I can't imagine not using them as my son grows! She said it was her favorite camp of the summer - which says a lot since she was in a lot of great camps. My daughter now goes once week for 1st grade Smart Start. Despite being in an immersion program where only 20% of the day is in English, my daughter is reading 1-2 grade levels above and what is more important is that absolutely loves reading!!! I got the run around and gave up trying to connect with Ms Frank. Such a scammer! What makes this even more frustrating is that I have received FREE assessments elsewhere that provided actual data, work samples, feedback, and useful information about my child. I expected significantly more from an assessment that cost $350. More than a month without providing a parent with any meaningful feedback or documentation after a paid assessment is incredibly disappointing. I cannot believe the lack of communication and professionalism surrounding this experience, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this service. I should have known better walking into a complete mess and disorganized environment while meeting with me while also taking another students tutoring time. As a Dana Point local I wanted to love this place. I could go on and on.
