El Tapatio doesn't waste time with frills. You walk in, order at the counter, pay first, eat later…read more Respect. The staff is patient, even when you're staring down the menu like it's a test you didn't study for. The place fills fast. By the time I was halfway through my meal, the room was packed, heavy wooden tables, yellow walls, colorful figures scattered around, ranchero music cutting through the chatter. It's the kind of noise that tells you people actually want to be here. I went with the chile relleno. The rice? Basic, nothing to write about. The beans? Solid, especially with cheese melted over the top, the kind of detail that makes you nod mid‑bite. The relleno itself was the star: tender chile stuffed with cheese, soft breading, and a sauce that carried real flavor. Every forkful reminded me why this dish is a staple. Drinks come in to‑go cups, which threw me at first, but it fits the vibe, practical, no nonsense. El Tapatio feels like a place you can drop into for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and know you'll walk out fed, satisfied, and maybe humming along to the music. It's not trying to reinvent Mexican food. It's just serving it straight, and serving it well.

Driving past, the building almost waved me down, like it knew I owed it a revisit. Locals know this spot for one thing above all: tamales. Holiday season turns this place into a waiting‑list destination. People tell me they sell out fast, and every year there's a sign posted for tamale orders. If Farmersville has a tamale headquarters, this is it. Walking in hit me with childhood memories. The wooden tables and chairs looked exactly like the ones my grandma used to have, and of course the laminated translucent table covers, a staple in every Hispanic household. It felt like stepping into a time capsule. I ordered huevos rancheros from the breakfast menu. While waiting, they brought out chips and salsa. I always think of chips and salsa as a lunch thing, but honestly, I'll take them any time of day. The chips were average, but the salsa was the star, flavorful with a hint of spice, the kind that makes you keep dipping even when you know you should save room for your meal. The plate itself was alright. The rice and beans were standard, nothing to write home about. The sauce smothering the eggs started off just okay, but it grew on me as I kept eating. By the end, I appreciated it more than I expected. This place has potential, and maybe that's why I felt a little conflicted. They've been around forever, yet sometimes when I drive by, the lot looks empty. Maybe I'm passing through during slow hours, maybe it's just the rhythm of the town. Either way, I hoped for a bit more but I also can't deny the nostalgia and charm that still live here. Ana Maria's is a gem in Farmersville, even if it's a quiet one. The tamales are clearly the main attraction, and I'll definitely be ordering some during the holidays. And honestly, I might come back just for that salsa, it's worth the stop on its own.

On a very hot day, it was so nice to walk into the restaurant and enjoy their air conditioning, which felt like a breath of fresh air. The place was getting busy, but our service remained good, and our food came out quickly. Everything we ordered was tasty. I didn't manage to finish my meal, so I took it to go and enjoyed it the next day. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was still delicious. Overall, Los Panchos is a solid spot for a satisfying meal, especially on a hot day, and I would definitely recommend it!

On top of that, his own burrito was missing three ingredients that he specifically requested. When he politely tried to address the issues, the owner of this location was very disrespectful. Several customers who witnessed the interaction even commented that the owner should not have handled the situation that way. Instead of trying to resolve the problem or simply remaking the burritos, they refused to serve him, even though we had already paid $51 for two burritos and two drinks. Save your money and spend it somewhere that values its customers and is willing to make things right when there is a problem. By far one of the worse restaurants I have been too.
