So, I had high hopes for this place, but overall it was a bit of a letdown. I ordered 8 tacos (6 asada, 1 chorizo, 1 chicharrón), 1 burrito, and 1 crunchy asada taco. The asada tacos actually had decent flavor -- although the meat was a little on the salty side. Not a deal breaker, but noticeable. The chorizo taco? Honestly, tasted just like the kind you buy at any grocery store and cook at home -- nothing special at all. I was hoping for that rich, house-made taste, but nope. The chicharrón taco was probably the most disappointing -- it was basically a cuerito taco. No real meat, just soft skin, so not what I was expecting. But what really killed the experience for me was the salsa situation. They gave me just two small containers of salsa for everything. The red one was tasty, and the green one was basic but good -- but come on, two little salsas for 8 tacos and a burrito? No limes, no radishes, nothing to help bring the tacos together. We ended up trying to ration the salsa, and without enough, the tacos felt dry. Everyone knows a taco needs to have that salsa dripping down and a good squeeze of lime to really come alive -- otherwise, it's just meat on a tortilla. I'm giving it 3 stars because the asada tacos had potential. But the overall execution, especially the lack of salsa and sides, really brought the meal down. I've been eating here pretty much since they opened. I've always loved their food and been very satisfied with their service. So this review is based solely on my experience today. The food wasn't as close to the quality as it has been in the past. The beans were over salted and the quesabirilla tacos I ordered lacked flavor all together. The girl at the counter provided excellent service but the cook seemed as if she didn't want to be there at all and looked at the girl in annoyance when she pointed out a mistake she made on my order. It wasn't their usual staff today so maybe that was part of the issue with the food I don't know ‍I'd definitely give them another chance based on my past experiences but I'll probably wait to see if the normal staff is there. read more

I use to come to this place many years ago when i worked in Tulare. Now that I live in Tulare I am trying to rediscover all the places I use to frequent. Today I went by on a recommendation from my co-worker. He said to try the Tacos Dorados and I Did with carne asada. They load them up all the way to the top, perfectly fried and filled with tomatoes, lettuce, your choice of meat crema and queso mexicano seco. If you love salsa, make sure to ask for some and keep in mine it is hot. Leaves you sweatin and still yearning for more. Oh, it's difficult to visit a town and find food that, not only doesn't poison you, but makes you want to return later. This is one of those really good places. My buddy and I were at the skate park and I asked someone what he liked, rather than spin the Yelp wheel of cuisine. This was suggested as his favorite place. It's a humble restaurant with folding tables and chairs in an outdoor dining room. You step up to a window in front of the building. Food is delivered to the side window, near the tables and chairs. They have a big selection of items and some deals, as you can see from some of the photos. I selected an enchilada combo and my buddy ordered a burrito, which somehow became a super burrito. I had the sour cream omitted from my order. With two drinks, everything came to just over $23.00, which seemed a bit expensive. When we got the food, the portions were reasonable--the burrito was huge, and super instead of regular, and the enchiladas were completely covered by what I will call salad. The portions of rice and beans were sufficient. While I was digging through the salad, I was enthusiastic about the taste. I could have eaten a whole meal of that. The rice and beans were good, but not unusually so. The enchiladas were everything I expected, although they defaulted to green sauce instead of red. I've tried a lot of places over the years, and most places open a can of enchilada sauce and I never return. I could return several times a week to eat at this place, if i didn't live over two hours away. Even so, I might want to return soon. My buddy considered his burrito very good. I didn't hear "bomb" or "fire", so I suspect it wasn't the best he'd ever had. Given that things weren't exactly as expected, I would deduct half a star, if it was possible. Updated!!! The old review is below. It was prior to COVID-19. This place has had a major change and is my favorite taqueria. The new staff is nicer and the food is so good. Their chilie is hot! Be warned. Lol. They offer American plates too now like burgers and hot dogs for the kids. The salsa is always fresh. The burritos and burgers are huge. Old review: We used to really like this place. Now the service is horrible, the food is just okay and the prices have gone up. I'll explain why I'm only giving them 1 star overall. On my last visit the left out my babies beans & rice. I didn't see that until we got home. When I called the worker had to let me know 3 times "she put it in the bag". We had a large order, it was not in the bag. She then had to tell another worker she put it in the bag. We just needed what we paid for! They finally said we could go pick it up. This was the 2nd time they've left food off our order but the 1st time a worker was so "bothered" by us calling them about it we just let it go. Second issue is we paid extra for guacamole that was not in the burritos. The chips were very stale. Sadly we will not be coming back. They need to learn customer service. Taqueria Guadalajara looked to have all the elements of a dirty-good authentic Mexican roadside meal. Tulare is known for south of the border cuisine authenticity, so I was excited going in. Unfortunately, the end product didn't quite live up to my expectations. I was rather amused by the look of the place. You can tell that Taqueria Guadalajara wasn't the first occupant. A cheap paint job covers up old signs advertising burgers and shakes. The sign is even just a hand-painted title next to a soft-serve cone, which they don't even have on the menu. It all just adds to the charm. That's why I was somewhat disappointed by the food. My super burrito was huge, enough for four people easily, but it lacked a good variety of ingredients and was heavy on the cabbage. The carne asada was extremely flavorful though. My chicken taco was delicious but contained a couple bones. Others who ordered here thought there food was quite good. Maybe it's worth a second visit. Stopped by when we were driving home from Visalia to Ventura County based on the Yelp reviews. Pros My husband had the bean and cheese burrito which I thought was kind of boring until he gave me a bite. Wow was I impressed. The best bean and cheese burrito I have ever had! The beans were flavorful and the cheese which seemed like a mixed variety was melty and amazing. They gave us both green and red salsa and I still am not over how delicious the green salsa was. It was a roasted salsa verde that was the best I have ever had. I am from Oxnard and I am a salsa snob and this was it! Cons I had the tacos dorado which are crispy tacos with carne asada, lettuce and a dried cheese on them which was very salty. The asada a bit dry but the salsa verde totally saved everything. Cons I had the tacos dorado which is a hard shell taco with carne asada, lettuce, and some kind of dried Mexican cheese which was kind of salty. First thing first CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! I waited 30 minutes for my food just to be told that my number was called a while back. I was standing by, waiting , and not once heard my number get called (even if it was called that person needs to speak up because I was 3 steps from the window). When I was giving the food it was cold. My nachos looked like an elote, it smelled like it's been there for days, and I saw no asada on it. I came the day before and got tacos (which I didn't like either) but didnt recieve my change. Even though it was a couple of cents it's not right for the lady to keep it and try to be slick about it. Took a little trip around my hometown to see if their was some tacos. Tulare is an even smaller town outside of my hometown of Visalia that has plenty of mexicans so I figured there's gotta be some tacos around here! Well, I believe I had to pay $1.50 for a taco which is kinda ridiculous but it was the bigger size and they filled em up so.. (I got the trio, asada, pastor y carnitas) The carne asada wasn't that great. It was cut kinda big and I found a huge piece of fat grisle in it. I'd pass on this one. The Pastor was actually an "adobada," and wasn't that great either. It actually just tasted like their carnitas but with their "marinade on top." Ok, the star of this meal was their Carnitas. Cooked properly, low and slow, then taken out and fried quickly on the griddle right before they serve it.. which gave it that super tender and moist texture with crispy/crunchy edges that added great flavor. These are 3.5-4 star carnitas. The salsa here is really spicy and the tacos are topped with onions and cilantro... and chopped cabbage, which seems to be a big thing here in the San Joaquin Valley. read more

Stopped by from the road. Taco Friday! $1 tacos! 1.75 for the ones I like tho which is fine by me. I got a fish taco which is a Friday thing, a buche taco, cabeza taco, and asada. They were all so good and surprisingly packed with a good amount of meat. Perfectly hot and just the right amount of flavor. My fish taco was overflowing when I picked it up and I made a big yummy mess. The cabeza taco was on the spicier side for sensitive me so I was blowing my runny nose and my mouth was burning by the end. We only came here cause we turned into the wrong place but happy we did! There is only place to sit outside and it was pretty cold the day we went lol. That was the only downside and service for a taco place was slower than what I am used to for tacos.
