Specialties
MATRIA Midwifery provides personalized home birth midwifery care for women and families who desire a natural, physiologic birth in the comfort of their own home. Care includes comprehensive prenatal visits throughout pregnancy, continuous support during labor and birth, and attentive postpartum and newborn care.
Our approach centers on relationship-based care, offering longer, unrushed appointments that allow time for meaningful conversation, education, and individualized support. We focus on supporting the natural physiology of pregnancy and birth while ensuring families feel informed, confident, and cared for throughout the process.
MATRIA Midwifery is committed to honoring each family’s unique path, providing experienced guidance while respecting the autonomy and instincts of the mother and family.
History
Established in 2024.
My work supporting women began nearly two decades ago through nutrition education and guiding families through meaningful lifestyle and dietary transitions, helping them navigate food sensitivities and build a strong foundation for health.
In 2013, I expanded into hands-on bodywork through Petrichor Bodywork and began training in traditional midwifery. Over the years, my work naturally shifted toward supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum season. I have been attending births independently since 2019.
MATRIA Midwifery grew out of this journey and reflects my commitment to relationship-centered, personalized care for women and families choosing home birth.
Meet the Business Owner: Rachel F.
Hi, I’m Rachel Fracassa. I’m a midwife with over a decade of experience supporting women through bodywork, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.
My work has always been rooted in a deep respect for the natural physiology of the female body and the wisdom of the birth process. As an independent midwife, I provide relationship-centered home birth care that prioritizes informed decision-making, individualized support, and trust in the mother’s instincts.
I believe birth works best when women feel safe, supported, and deeply known by the person caring for them, and I’m honored to walk alongside families during one of the most meaningful seasons of their lives.
