Omg! This shop has so many interesting items! I had no intention walking into it, but I glimpsed a cute coffee mug in the window display and I thought it would be a great gift for one of my friends. After walking through the store, I realized it has so much more than I expected. You can definitely able to find a unique piece for your funniest friends (hopefully understanding the sarcastic humor) Also many beautiful clothing items for women and children too! If you can't find your size, they will order it for you! I found really nice reading glasses here, although I didn't buy them because I should get my prescription glasses first, and maybe after I will buy some of these and maybe get the lenses replaced, because I loved the frames. This has been a favorite shop of mine for YEARS, it's now my MOST favorite and I'll tell you why. I don't always buy things when I go in, but I do make sure to go in and check out "the goods" They carry well-made quality clothing and accessories and the price reflects that quality. You won't find 6billion other people wearing your same outfit at an event. Why are they my fave? Here it is- I placed an order online for a couple basic pieces, some tank tops I love and a couple new tops to try out. Well, one of the tops I ordered, they didn't actually have my size. Instead of just cancelling the item someone at the store reached out to me. A HUMAN BEING TEXT ME TO LET ME KNOW THE PROBLEM. Not only that, they helped me pick a new option, sent pictures, measured things, gave helpful opinions... and the option I went with has become my new favorite shirt. This was absolutely fabulous and invaluable to me. It may not sound like much to some but I hadn't ever had an interaction like this resulting from an online purchase and it's won me over. I've known the owner since she had her store R+D Hipster Emporium over at Boca Park. I had moved to Vegas from LA the year prior and hated that I could never find any fun boutiques that gave me the same vibe that those trendy boutiques and stores on Melrose and Robinson had. I was eating at Kona Grill and wandered in and have been hooked since then. I always found the best clothes for my son and discovered awesome brands like One Teaspoon, Wildfox, UNIF, Stylestalker, amongst many others when she was there. Right before Covid she moved her store to Tivoli and opened as Matriarch Life. The inventory stayed consistent but the brands changed a bit and she brought in some new ones I'd never heard of before such as Venti6 (their joggers are a closet staple) Mustard Seed, Daydreamer, Amanda Uprichard, Junkfood, as well as some great children's brands. I'd never heard of this amazing dress company out of Australia called Marlo until I saw it at Matriarch. The most beautiful dresses for little girls and older girls. Rowdy sprout which have been my tried and true since my son was a toddler years ago and now my daughter is rocking their shirts and pj's, Vintage Havana always has great sweats and their sneaker game is on point! A couple hundred less than those Golden Goose kids sneakers with the same rocker/worn styling. Munster which is another fun Australian brand and a lot of Posh Peanut. She expanded her children's gift section and added a great makeup line for kids that's fully vegan, pediatrician and dermatologist recommended called Petite N Pretty and some other great finds. They also have art for sale now! Any of the art on the walls is available for purchase. Every piece I've seen is unique and beautiful. Although I'm not a fan personally I also noticed she carries Magnolia Pearl. I haven't seen that brand in stores and only online. I wish I was cool enough to adore their one of a kind pieces but I think I'm just stuck in my comfort zone of leggings or joggers and band tees or flowy button downs. read more

I LOVE this store! Beautiful clothes, great finds for gifts, cool books, and awesome selection for hip kids clothes! You won't find a better selection of cool toddler clothes anywhere else. Good quality too! Just wish they had more infant sizes. The inventory here is awesome. This is a must see store if you're a mom with a sense of humor and love to shop for yourself or kids. The R+D Hipster Emporium... where to start ~ originally unoriginal. Walking in this place, it's clear they copped the sewing machine installation in the front of their store from Allsaints, and the overall look of the store from Urban Outfitters. After living in LA for 10 years and seeing true hipster stores in Silverlake, Echo Park, and DTLA, it's hard to get that authentic "hipster" vibe in Vegas, but I can't blame the store for trying. It's like a watered-down, faux hipster store with trendy, crazily over-priced clothing and tsotchkes. If you're looking for vintage-looking hipster clothing and have $130-$175 to spend on a pair of jeans with a brand name you and i have never heard of, then this is your jam. $80 for a ripped up sweatshirt, or are looking for a book called "The Big Butt Book 3D," this is your spot. I'd still give it 3 stars... I mean, where else in Summerlin can you find a fart card game, kids clothes, over-priced boob books and trendy flannel shirts in one place? If you're in the area and want to visit this place for entertainment value, I'd recommend it. If you're in the area and looking for a ripped up sweater or a pair of faded, high waisted jeans; I'd recommend the Salvation army on Durango at Flamingo ~ They have a whole designer section and you can get those same looking jeans for $10 and save that cash for something that really matters... like food and alcohol ~ lol. read more

Low Key Not Impressed. I had been wanting to check out this store for a while but never had time to drop in. I found myself with a few extra minutes before my nail appointment a little while back so I decided to go in a browse! I felt underwhelmed. I was expecting and "Emporium" of goods and this felt more like a casual trinket shop. Not a lot of stuff to chose from and not a very large shop either. I did find one thing I really liked it was a perfume of sorts and of course the only one I liked was out of stock. The employees were nice and checked the back for me but there was none in stock and with that being the absolute only thing that caught my eye besides a pair of $100 sweat pants that I couldn't justify purchasing I left empty handed and less hipster than when I first arrived. read more

WHERE: Located inside Boca Park, right across the street from Kona Grill. WHEN: Monday through Saturday from 10am-8pm, Sunday from 11am-7pm. WHY: If you like the whole "urban-y" look, then this boutique might have it! WHAT: I know the name of the boutique does not serve its justice, I was pretty hesitant to walk inside myself, but why not man up and walk into something new! I actually walked inside the store yesterday, and was surprised. Well, the thing that caught my eye was the huge TOMs sign they had, since I have a TOMs shoe collection started. Lol. They have some of the newer styles in stock, so if you're a TOMs shoe lover like myself, go and check it out! It's a small shop with different styles of clothing for men, women, and even children! The kids clothes are extremely cute! 8). My friend purchased this small sac with a baby onesie inside. The outside of the bag said something like.. "the sex of your unborn baby is predicted upon opening this bag." So, the point of this story is... there are random things in the store, and you may be lucky to find something for you! Oh yeah, in addition to my TOMs story, I found some cute teal ones in my size... and they were 50% off!!! WINNER!!! SO KEEP AN OPEN MIND, AND TEST OUT THE WATERS. A good spot for TOMS hunting! I admit: I have a bias towards locally owned boutiques simply because I want to see more of them do well in Vegas. Ultimately, it leads to better gifts for everyone! Despite the somewhat disconcerting name (because who really wants to self-label as a hipster?), I have visited R+D on two occasions. On the first occasion, I thought things were a tad overpriced, but the selection was interesting, very LA. I was store neutral. Most recently, I have been on a quest fo shimmery TOMS. I don't own a pair and quite honestly, had thought them pretty darn ugly. However, when in need of a flat to wear with socks, I decided they were a good option, especially when they shine! When I noticed a sign in the Boca Park lot announcing R+D carried TOMS, my husband coaxed me into perusing their selection. Their selection of TOMS is huge! They have a variety of colors and styles for children, women and men. They even had a limited edition metallic style that I had not seen anywhere, and after being told they didn't have my size, the owner stepped up to try to help find a replacement. She had them run an inventory of everything in my size, and voila: it indicated they did indeed have one pair of the shoe I coveted in my size! The owner went in the back and found the elusive pair, and I left the store elated with my discovery and purchase. In additional to clothes and TOMS shoes, they also have jewelry, some cute gift possibilities for your trendy pals and even their kids, other shoes, TOMS sunglasses and some items from local artisans. If it hadn't been for the owner, I don't think the aloof staff would have found my shoes, but the owner was helpful and knowledgeable. Overall, this trip was store positive! read more

I bought a dress at this store and did not notice it was ripped until I got home to wear it I called the store said it was ripped tags on never wore it and they would not give me a store credit basically saying I ripped it. I stopped by here last week on a whim to get some birthday presents for a girlfriend of mine. I'd driven past a few times and always wanted to go in but hadn't. I figured gift shopping was the perfect time. Let me start by saying the decor is AMAZING. The clothing and gifts are so perfect for every occasion. You can tell that the owner handpicks all the items for their style and quality. Now let's talk about JJ, the man working that day. He was TREMENDOUS. He was working All by himself and already had customers when I arrived however he took the time to introduce himself, make sure I didn't need help. He was just so helpful and kind. He generally cared about what I was shopping for and made sure I was happy with all my purchases. He even wrapped it for me and it's so cute!!! I attached a picture! I'm not sure what the other yelpers are taking about! Every time I'm in town, this is one of the first stops my girlfriend and I make! (Right after In-N-Out, of course.) There is always an amazing selection of stuff (my girlfriend LOVES Freebird boots) and the staff is super courteous and helpful. We always end up buying what they suggest and we're better off for it! They can suggest items we'd never spot, and how to compliment a dress or denim with the right accessory. It's half the reason we love Vegas so much. Honestly, there is a ton of mega-brand stores at the malls and on the strip like McQueen or Channel...but very few well curated, independent boutiques that have a real perspective and a point of view. AND that are courteous and engaging. Next time you are in town, check it out for yourself. (And make sure you hit In-N-Out first!) read more

My most recent experience with this store was less than good. They had a 20 percent off an item if you checked in. Once I showed the cashier she said the owner was trying to get the promotion off of yelp and couldn't apply it to my purchase... I told her I have used it at this store plenty of times and asked why they refused to honor it all of the sudden. After whispering with her co- worker and rolling her eyes she gave me the discount but clearly seemed irritated and had an attitude so I just walked out. I refuse to be treated or talked to like that. I won't return because of this. read more

R+D Emporium is probably the only good boutique in all of Summerlin or in Las Vegas as far as I'm concerned. The owner Mariah is a really talented buyer and stylist and is a real delight. I think they have very inexpensive and fashion forward clothing without being the low quality disposable typed featured in H&M and other similar retailers. They now have an online boutique and you can have it shipped for free to the store or your house if it's over $100 but I think going in to the store is a must if you are local and parking is usually no problem at all. An example of their price points are a darling gray fitted python print blazer I purchased which was $120, a magenta raw fringed blouse for $39 and a tweed double breasted jacket for $78. I saw similar styles for sale at Neiman's for $500-$1,000. With most of the shopping going online these days it's a real breath of fresh air to go shopping for fun and have a real professional help you put together a cute outfit. I'm 50 and always find cool and nice things in this shop so don't think it's just for the 25 year olds. There is also a really nice children's section with fun clothing and gifts. I have shopped here numerous times over the years. I have always loved their selection of kids' wear. Great brands, especially for little boys. They have great sales and a friendly staff. I was SUPER disappointed when I visited last week and found several kids shirts with really racist Native American imagery. It's not ok to sell tshirts with war bonnets on skulls and the like (there were 3 different shirts with various appropriated images, that is just one of them). I let the girl that was there know at the time and I hope they remove the shirts and stop carrying things like that. This is 2014, they should know better. Personally , I love this store. I just moved out to Vegas from LA after 21 years and I must say no other store has pleased me as much as this little store has. In LA i'm used to little fashion stores w/ this sense of style everywhere so when I found this store I felt very excited to check it out. I enjoy shopping here when I'm in the market for an item that is from an LA brand or brand that you usually have to buy online. I usually come in to see For Love & Lemons, WildFox, Show Me Your Mumu, Bedstu and Quay; Which they always carry. It's the only place in Vegas to find Show Me Your Mumu which is great if you don't want to order something online. Majority of the items are a little pricey but you can find deals when they have sales. They are limited when it comes to sizes of an item. Sometimes I can only find one size of an item left but maybe that's just my bad luck and I come when the rest have sold out. The staff is friendly and the owner is often in the store and interacting with customers. Sarah is great and always helps me when I shop. In addition to women's clothing, they also carry men's, boys and girls, shoes, and accessories. read more

True enough, the tees and jeans are more angeleno than vegan, and it's locally owned, which is awesome, but the prices are pretty high. This boutique is awesome!! They have a great selection of eclectic clothing for women, men , and children.
