Came down on a work trip and stopped in for a quick bite, service was great and the two sushi rolls I had were excellent. Great vibes overall and will be back again before I leave!
We were here for lunch on two different visits within a two week period. Both times, we were lucky enough to get in before the lunch rush. When we got in, it was empty, but filled up quick. We understand why as the food is delicious. The star of both visits was the sushi pizza. We go for sushi a lot, and that's the most creative thing I've seen in sushi for many years. The dish is visually stunning as well as tasty. My only complaint is I want more! On the second visit, we were 4 people, one of whom does not like sushi. We got the Sushi Boat for 2, which was plenty for 3 of us, along with that sushi pizza. The non-sushi eater got some steamed vegetables and a lump crab and avocado roll. That was the only roll I did not like. There were pieces of crab shell in there, and the crab and avocado mix was just too mushy. It needs something to give it texture and to break up the mushy feel. I'll be looking forward to going back and trying other rolls. I don't remember the name of every roll we tried, so we'll have to go back again. It was the sushi pizza that stood out the most and got everyone's attention.

When I picked up a different person was picking up their to go order so maybe they do a lot of take away. Ordered king salmon sashimi and the spicy kani mango and sex on the beach sushi rolls. It was OK. Nothing amazing. Ordered two orders of the king salmon sashimi and it was a little.... Mushy? It didn't smell bad or taste bad just a little more mushy than I'm used to. Not all of the pieces, but half were like that. The rolls were better. I would have liked some mayonnaise in the spicy kani roll to make it a little creamier, but I enjoyed it as is. The sex on the beach roll was really good. I'd go back for the rolls and probably skip the sashimi next time. Service was friendly and she helped me pick my rolls.
Wanted a place for a quick lunch and found Matsu Sushi. Nice place that offers sushi, ramen and other foods. The place was quite packed with a lunch crowd when I arrived, but there were still seats available for sole diners like me. The service was great. Food came promptly without much waiting which is suitable for folks looking for a place for a quick lunch.
I came here twice for lunch so far. I like the plaza the restaurant is in. Even though the parking lot seems a bit packed during the lunch hour, there are plenty of spots in that parking lot and we were easily able to located one. Restaurant itself was very clean and relaxing. This place does close down after 2:30pm and reopen for dinner around 5 or 5:30pm. I got there at 2:20pm and was still able to be seated. And yes, I did call ahead of time to find out what is their last seating for lunch. In my opinion, I feel their service could have been better. It definitely ain't the best. The staff was either tired or just not passionate about her work much. Food wise I think they are not too bad. Typical Japanese restaurant to me. I ordered a Tonkatsu ramen for my kids. The portion seems normal with an alright soup base. I had the Alaskan poke bowl. Now that one the portion was pretty decent. I did substitute edamame with extra avocado. My husband ordered their Chirashi. The sashimi are fresh and well sliced in size and thickness. Portion seems pretty good too. Will I come back? Possibly if I am around the area. But there are definitely better food quality and services Japanese restaurants options out there.
The food was delicious, Quick service and plenty of parking $130 for 3 people, included 4 rolls, 2 apps and one sushi pro platter with soup.
Was craving sushi & a neighbor recommended we try Matsu. Really enjoyed the sushi & our experience. Food I ordered the salad to start (ginger dressing was fab!!) and then two rolls. One was the sweetheart roll & the other was the spicy tuna roll. Both were incredible! Service The staff was very nice & helpful with my shellfish allergy. They were attentive & the food came out quickly. Ambiance We made a reservation because we were worried it would be packed. It wasn't busy when we arrived at 545pm on a weeknight but quickly after, the place was packed and lively. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the sushi chefs make everyone's rolls!
Came here last night with a friend. Ordered the New Zealand Roll, New York Roll, and Rainbow Roll. Also ordered a side of Takoyaki balls. The takoyaki balls were served fast and then immediately after the sushi came out. There was very little buffer time in between to eat our appetizer before the sushi. Some of this sushi just tasted bad. I've been to many sushi restaurants and the sushi here was bleh. Not a fan of the tuna or yellowtail. The New Zealand Roll was pretty gross. The New York Roll was Good. Salmon was good. Would not suggest ordering any of the special rolls again. Very expensive and not very good. The atmosphere in here gives you the sense that it's fine dining. I think that's just the overall appeal businesses located in the Promenade are trying to portray.
I shared 2 cooked rolls with my wife. The veggie roll was delicious. Rice and an assortment of veggies. Seaweed salad, carrots, red peppers and rice. It was served with a sweet mango puree. The matsu roll had cooked fish and crab.
Amazing food! The sushi was really good and you can tell the fish was fresh. The "steak from the grill" comes on a sizzling plate and was cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean and organized. Great casual sushi spot!

This establishment is a part of a new complex and I know if I lived here, the majority of my meals would be from Matsu. Parking is super easy and convenient. I arrived during a weekday lunch and it was not crowded but had 2-3 other patrons groups dining as well. The staff was attentive and helpful throughout the experience. We had 1 signature role in which I can't remember, spicy tuna roll, and a California roll. All were delicious. We also had a green tea fried ice cream which was okay but not the best I've had. This place was a good find and would try them again.
Located in apartment complex, clean and spacious inside but tables are placed little too close together and loud inside Place was pretty packed at noon on monday We orderef two rolls from lunch special; spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls And shoyu ramen and spicy tan tan ramen Rolls were very good and ramen was decent Price was average, I think i will revisit :)
We were in town for a wedding, and after a four hour drive we needed a quick lunch before the festivities began. We figured sushi is always a good idea and ordered ahead for pickup. Pick up was seemless and the employees were lovely. Between the two of us we ordered four rolls, a pork bun, and a shrimp tempura bun. Everything was absolutely delicious and if we ever find ourselves in the area again we'll definitely stop by. read more

As soon as you walk in you are wowed with the theming of the establishment. The ambiance takes you to Asia. The service was amazing and very assertive to clean up and refill drinks. You have to get there at a certain time. This places fill quickly. You will enjoy! read more
Matsu is located in the new Promenade complex off of Welsh Road in Dresher. The interior of the restaurant is an open concept with modern design. As you enter the sushi bar is along the right side wall and tables & booths fill the middle and left side of the building. The menu is robust and they have a plethora of specialty rolls along with the traditional rolls such as spicy tuna etc.. My friend and I ordered 7 rolls and we thoroughly enjoyed all of them. The rolls were well constructed, didn't fall apart and were above average in size. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Absolutely delicious. 4 of us were there last night (including my 5 year old) and we all loved our dinners. I had a salmon avocado roll and the shoyu ramen. The fish was so fresh and the ramen was amazing. Can't remember what the other two adults had, but they loved their food. My daughter had tamago "sashimi" and the dumpling soup. She loved everything. Service was prompt and attentive. The only slightly negative thing was that we were told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table, and it was more like 45. It was worth it though. read more
Stylish place with quick and friendly service. On this visit I opted for the Hawaiian poke bowl, which was amply portioned and nicely presented. I enjoyed it for the most part, but with three of the toppings being acid-marinaded/pickled and the sauce being citrusy, the dish ended up being slightly too tart (and salty) for my palate. I'll return, but when I do, I'll get sushi instead. read more

This restaurant is new to the area. Wanted to try it out. Love that it's down the street. When er entered we were greeted and seated immediately. It just opened and we were the first customers. Hostess was very nice. She took our order. My son ordered spicy tan tan ramen soup and 2 sushi rolls. I ordered beef Yaki udon. We waited a bit. Our 2 sushi rolls arrived first. The roll were huge. The r sushi rolls were well made. Fresh ingredients. And tasted very good. When our main meal arrived it was piping hot. Excellent! I love when the food comes out like that- great job! read more

YUM! my husband and I found a gem! I guess not a lot of locals know about this spot but let me tell you how good this place was -- I finished everything off my plate even when I was full! It was that good. I didn't take much pictures because I was literally living in the moment. Also the service was great and the employees were super nice. Food: Overall, it was good. However, I'd probably only order the sushi, soup, and apps again. The "Kitchen Grilled" Steak was disappointing :( The quality of meat was chewy and tough, the vegetables were not even cooked at all / too hard to chew, and the white rice was a little over cooked. Sad there was only half an asparagus spear. Not worth $20+ at all. The Udon was just ok bc the steak meat in it had the same hard/chewy texture. Flavor was bland. Veggies in it were nice and fresh though. The sushi was great! Both rolls had fresh ingredients and nicely portioned. The shrimp was sweet and the avocado was nice and ripe. You can tell they were in a rush bc of the sideways pieces on one roll, but that doesn't bother me. Definitely coming back for the sushi! The dumpling soup was excellent :) Really enjoyed the flavorful broth and fresh veg thrown in it. Apps were ok. Standard dumplings and shumai. Cleanliness: Super clean and nice interior. Not a big place, but feels spacious with the high ceiling. Service: Very friendly and had masks on during service, which I personally like. Would come back again to try more sushi :) read more

I noticed a new place opened up and I decided to come try it. The ramen soup was good and it filled me up. The only thing was that the soy sauce was very salty that i had to drink lots of water after it. The place is also very small inside i wish it was more spacious but other than that i like this place to go on a date. read more
