I was so ready to have a new ramen spot close to home that I could frequent and enjoy but unfortunately Taberu wasn't what I was expected. When we arrived, we were seated right away. There were about 3 other tables occupied with customers. I could see they were busy with takeout orders as several people walked out with brown bags. There's a large bar right in the middle of the restaurant and a seating area with couches and a TV hung on the wall. Plenty of parking across the street in front of the roundabout. A nice gentleman waiting on all the tables came over to take our drink orders. I asked for water and my fiancé asked for mango bubble tea with strawberry popping bubbles. Instead, he brought out strawberry bubble tea with mango popping bubbles AND tapioca boba. It was delicious but not quite what he asked for. He didn't want to send it back so he drank it. Our appetizer was... odd. We ordered fried sticky rice cake and we got these little chewy chips. It wasn't what I pictured in my head. They had a mochi consistency but I didn't realize they were going to be that tiny. There wasn't much sauce at the bottom once you ate the ones at the top. Something about the vegetable ramen didn't sit right with me. It looked appetizing but the vegetables either weren't fresh or washed properly. The mushrooms had a slight dirt taste and the broccoli was bitter. The ramen noodles were fine but the broth was bland. I added soy sauce for extra flavor. The tables have pepper shakers but no salt shakers. At the end, we received two free coins for their claw machines. I played both coins and got two Labubu clip-on wrist toys. When the check arrived, my fiancé went to pay and noticed there were two different prices - one price for cash and one for card. This is not something we're used to, especially not in the Rockledge/Huntingdon Valley area. I was shocked to see that they do business that way. All in all, I don't know if I'd return. The inside was very clean and modern and the employees were kind but the food just didn't do it for me.

Fried Sticky Rice Cake (half-eaten, I couldn't wait!)

Tried dining in this time. Great service, quick turnaround. For robatayaki, the scallop, bacon and quail egg, mushroom, and fish tofu skewers were perfectly cooked and delicious. The sticky rice cakes were tender, chewy, and crispy and very tasty! The eel buns were also awesome. Tried the Japanese deviled eggs from the specials board, and the restaurant provided them free as a courtesy! Such a nice place for a great Asian meal. Atmosphere was also really great. Cannot wait to return!!!

I finished my boba in 4 sips. Go easy on the ice next time. Otherwise it was good while it lasted.

We celebrated my brother's birthday dinner and enjoyed it! We ordered mango boba tea, pork soup dumplings, steak ramen, tan tan ramen, black garlic ramen, teriyaki chicken and teriyaki steak. The portions were generous and service was very friendly. The server went above and beyond to celebrate my brother with a surprise dessert and beautifully carved fruit.

The Tantan ramen was excellent. The service was very attentive and friendly. They have completely transformed the inside of the previously hollywood tavern to something modern and inviting. I would highly recommend anyone in the area to give them a try

I ordered the Akamaru Modern Ramen, the BBQ short rib plate, and the mango shaved ice everything was absolutely delicious. The short ribs were incredibly tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with rice and their macaroni salad, which is surprisingly SO good because I normally don't even like macaroni salad from restaurants. The ramen was rich, comforting, and full of flavor as always. The mango shaved ice was refreshing and came topped with popping mango pearls and mochi, which made it even better. The ambiance is nice bright and decorative. Clean. The service is always great, and Jimmy always remembers me and is so welcoming every time I come in. The ladies in the front are pleasant and everyone teams up to ensure you have a pleasant dining experience. Everybody I've brought here ends up loving this place too. My total was about $55, and since I paid cash, I even got a little discount, which was a nice bonus. Definitely one of my favorite spots! If you go, I hope you enjoy it like I do.

Worth reconsidering this place…read more We just reached out to place a large order because we love the food so much. We frequently order from here but wanted to try something new. When we called in to confirm that the Udon noodles do NOT have egg (as we have a child with an egg allergy), the woman taking our order curtly said "I threw out the box, it's white, you have to look for yourself." When we mentioned we do not know the brand to look, she replied "me neither, I threw out the box." Needless to say - the food is great, but honestly, the family owned business officially sucks. There's a way to respond to things and that just isn't it. Especially as someone taking orders. So thank you for ending this streak for us. The crap service made it easy to make this place a 1 star.

Don't expect there will be plenty of parking spot because they don't. Spots are actually very limited. I ordered two of their ramen: Black garlic and Tonkatsu. They were on average. Soup base was not too bad but the ramen is bit the authentic Japanese ramen noodle. That bowl of ramen probably would have taste a bit different if they use the real kind of ramen. Their Korean bulgogi beef rice was something I would reorder. It comes with plenty of bulgogi, a side of kimchi and also salad with a dressing that I like. I also tried their steamed pork bun. It was not bad, quite juicy and flavorful. The amount of sauce was on point. The lady is the only person I saw in there, running as a cashier and a waitress. But the place wasn't that big and not much tables were seated when I was there, she was able to manage and provide my family and I a friendly service. She checked with us a few times in case we needed something. Tbh, if this place is located at another location, maybe a bit more people would notice and want to try. Just by looking at the outside, I don't know if many others would want to go in for their food and willing to return again and again.

Even still we were able to observe the lovely ambiance. Indoors feels really authentic. Like I mentioned, it was very late but we were still welcomed with a great service which made the whole experience even more delightful. I ordered a shrimp ramen and my husband ordered the chicken ramen. I really enjoyed my meal, it was yummy and very filling. My husband didn't really enjoy the noodles, as he was hoping for some hand rolled noodles but everything else he enjoyed as well. We also received a reward card which upon receiving 10 stamps (if I'm not mistaken) we will receive a free meal - so that's always exciting.
