I went to Boyd's and they were able to order a garnet in the color I was originally expecting for the same price. They also replaced a stone at the bottom of the heart and resized it. The art deco emerald and diamond ring I purchased from Boyd's estate collection in 2017 and it is still as beautiful and sparkly as ever. I have had it resized by them as well and it is my favorite ring I own. I could not recommend Boyd's enough and will choose them over any big box jeweler or any other local jewelers in the area - hands down the best craftsman's ship, honesty, kindness, and professionalism. A disheveled young girl was assisting and had a nasty attitude. I asked for pricing and she gave me a higher price than the previous day. I said no thank you, I'll come back another day. She called for some young guy to ask about prices and he gave an even higher number per gram, showing inconsistent prices based on the employee you ask. My mother asked how the diamonds work and the young woman said I'm not getting into that because he just denied me. So I said "you can't answer her question because I didn't buy from you? What's your problem, what are you giving attitude for? She responded are you serious right now and then asked to get some boy out who came from behind the counter, not to de- escalate or actually give some customer service but to ask us to leave. He's apparently the owners son and couldn't provide any service or consistent pricing. If you see an older white gentleman or an older guy with jet black hair, buy. If you see children who look like they have trouble speaking to people, leave! Very disappointed considering I was going to spend 2500 on a silver chain and a gold bracelet. Wish I bought it yesterday but now I doubt I would be back again. Lost a repeat customer today.

After meeting Mr. Cortes and feeling more than comfortable with his skills, professionalism and overall personality, I entrusted him with some pretty special requests. My husbands wedding band was missing a stone and looked like he had taken a hammer to the poor thing, he was against replacing it as it meant too much to him. I took it to Mr. Cortes and asked if he could work his magic and magic is putting it lightly to what he did! It looks like a brand new ring! Dents were built up and filled in, stone was replaced and setting built up to avoid ever losing a stone again. It so was amazing that I broke down in tears. I then took my wedding set to have it sized up along with the first ring my husband ever bought me, they all came out perfect! Then, I had a request from my son to help him design a unique engagement ring and band for my now future daughter-in-law. He wanted unique stones (not the traditional diamonds) and Mr. Cortes helped me (and my son via phone) to come up with an amazing piece. It was challenging because the ring was a size 4 which a lot of jewelers want to limit what they can do that small but Mr. Cortes was confident he could make it happen.
