Food was good but wow, haven't had such awful service in a very long time. It seems like I'm not the only one that feels this way so I'm not certain why management is not addressing this. Drinks took forever and most notably because the server forgot about them, and when we needed condiments after our food arrived she forgot we had asked for those as well so eventually we just got up and got them ourselves. Other servers saw us doing this and still...no assistance was offered. We were in Rome/Florence for a week and this was the ONLY meal we just did not enjoy. Shame. read more

What a wonderful find on our first day in Rome. The food was just outstanding. We started with Suppli and Bruschetta. The Bruschetta sampler is enough for more than the two of us, but we gave it our all and only had one piece to take with us. The Suppli, well superb. The fettuccine is the best either of have ever had anywhere in our travels. The staff put up with our poor attempt at Italian always with a smile and a subtle correction. We had a great meal, a great time and hopefully we will get back before we leave. read more

Yes!! Great food, but probably a low rating cause of the indifferent service, I am presuming? One waiter was great, the other younger bloke was okay but overall out table of 3 had a fantastic meal with desserts especially being absolute standouts! Starters: We got Tomato Bruschetta (I felt it needed more oil), the Salmon Bruschetta (great olives, wish more generous serving of salmon was given) and zucchini flowers croquettes with cheese and anchovies as started. All were decent, but nothing jumped out. BTW, if you are staying at the Hilton next door, they give you a free voucher for the Tomato Bruschetta, so make sure u get that deal! The food items we got for our Mains included: 1) Pasta Special of the day - home-made fettuccine with mushrooms and sausage: this was superb! My personal fave of the night with gorgeous variety of mushrooms with wonderful sausage and perfectly fresh al debate pasta with a dash of olive oil. I loved every bite and if had an extra tummy, would have ordered a second serving of this dish. 2) Big Portion of Grilled seasonal vegetables -my 2nd fave dish of the night! Beautifully crisp potatoes and superbly grilled bell peppers and zucchini in particular just hit the spot 3) Vegetarian Pizza - lovely crust, and a decent variety + amount of vegetables. However just needed something from a salt taste perspective to bring the taste up a notch for me. Didn't enjoy this dish as much as the other two main menu items Dessert Menu: - Crostata con fruti di bosco ($5.90) - blue fruits pie: my mother loved this dish. You could taste the fruits in every bite! The pie tasted very fresh, but for me the crust wasn't as tasty. - Tiramisu al pistachio ($4.90): oh my gosh!! Just an amazing dessert! I want to come back and try the strawberry one next. The pistachios are sprinkled on top, and the lady fingers are limited, so instead you get this gloriously rich and lovely mascarpone creme! I am a fan of this interpretation of the Tiramisu dessert but can understand it may not be for everyone. Definitely recommend and might end up coming back again, since it's located so close to the hotel! While on vacation we were recommended to this local restaurant within walking distance. We could not wait to try the pasta. Fettuccini with meat sauce was my favorite. They have menus in English which made ordering easy for the kids. The menu accommodates young children with items such as hamburgers if they choose. This place has a real family feel. We ate here several times as the prices are reasonable. There is also free WiFi. read more

Below average food. I had high expectations since it was our first meal after landing in Rome. The staff at the Hilton talks it up because it's next door and convenient. I wasn't impressed with the pasta here. We went twice just to see if maybe it was just an off night. Go if you are desperate for something to eat and there is nothing else open. read more

This is a great resturant! We had an incredible waitress, who was fluent in English and who was so very helpful. If you are lucky enough to be able to drop in, ask for Silvia, as she made the dining experience so much better. We had pizza (superb), fettuccini (2 different and both great), zucchini blossom (unbelievable), cheese cake (very different but good), baked cheese dish (extraordinary), tiramisu (perfect), great house wine and of course limoncello. This place specializes in fettuccine as they make their own pasta noodles. It seemed to fill up starting at 8:30 when a lot of families come in. We got a pizza and half bottle of wine. The pizza is made with a very thin crust. It was big enough for two people. This restaurant is next to the Hilton Claridge hotel and they gave us a coupon for two free bruccetta. read more

I went here with 16 university students last week and they were all very happy - from the chicken steak to the homemade fettuccine. It truly was the best pasta we have had so far (and I am not just comparing it to tourist places!) It was a great choice for a group. My 11yo son is a connoisseur of pizza margherita - he's had it every single day for at least one meal during our recent trip to Rome. In the spirit of providing the most accurate reviews, he has rated each one - I'll post this same review for each restaurant in order of quality. 1) Rosa & Rosae, Trevi Fountain/Pantheon area - Via di Pietra, 88, 00186 Roma We joined him in pizza here and had one with spicy salami. It was very good, although only three large slices of salami. 2) PastaMore, Trevi area - Via arcione 71b, 00187 Roma We intended to go to That's Amore - I know, the names are goofy. Instead we opted for this place and had a nice dinner on their patio. Large salad was big enough for 4 to split and the pasta was very fresh. We had linguine w/ clams, and arrabiata. It was nice to choose your own noodle and sauce separately. I wanted gnocchi, but they were out of it. 3) Mattarello, US Embassy area - Viale Liegi 64, 00198 Roma Our first night in Rome and we wanted something quick and easy next to the Hilton Garden Inn. The pizza was very tasty and hit the spot after a long day of traveling. We also had arrabiata that was tasty with fresh pasta and a smoked salmon pizza that was terrific. I ordered gnocchi, but they said it's summer and didn't have it. 3) Luzzi, Coliseum area - Via di San Giovanni in Laterano 88, 00184 Roma We also ordered a calzone, minestrone and pasta a fagioli here, but they said they weren't making them. All on the menu, but not available. We ended up with lasagna that was okay and I had a capricciosa pizza (mushroom, olive, hard-boiled egg and prosciutto) that was good, but a burnt crust. The thing that killed this place for my son was the burnt crust, gobs, I mean gobs of cheese, and the 20 minute wait. All of us received out food within about 10 minutes -and he sat there watching us eat. The waiter didn't care - it was pretty sad. The pizza that did come came with gobs of cheese that wasn't fully melted. He had a couple slices, but we ended up with more than half wasted. We choose this specific place because of the other positive reviews. What a shame. BTW - they only serve gnocchi on Thursday, so no luck for me again! read more

We visited here on our third day in Rome. The food was really good. I had always heard how good the food in Italy was but until this meal I wasn't sure. Everywhere I went the food seemed very bland and I took that to mean perhaps Italian's don't season their food as much, but this place changed my mind. The bruschetta was perfect, pizza was yummy and the tiramisu was wonderfully sinful and delicious. Service was slow, but we weren't in a hurry and I'd certainly give up a little extra time in exchange for a great meal. All in all, I'd come back. read more

It may have been the closest restaurant to our Hilton hotel, but it was the very best pizza we've found in Rome or any other stop on our MSC cruise or on the ship. Food was good but service was horrible! They get busy late at night and staff seemed very inexperienced. Worst part was waiting for the check. Waitress apparently couldn't do it herself. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked her again and she said she already told "him" that we needed our check. It took another 10 minutes before we got our check, then another 5 before "he" came to run our credit card through. All told, it likely took us an hour longer than it should have for a two course dinner, and this was day 15 of a trip to Italy so my idea of service speed had already been adjusted, this isn't the typical "people take their time in Italy" thing. read more

AWFUL food and AWFUL service. Menu is too large, therefore food was subpar at best. I had a salmon salad. The greens were not fresh. The salmons as REPULSIVE. As an salmon lover I know my salmon, and this salmon was old and past it's expiration, was overly fishy. I sent back and when I talked to the manager she tried to blame my bad taste for not liking. The other food ordered by my fam was awful, chicken tasted like plastic. read more
