I brought my daughter and son to golf today on their last day of school with some friends and my 6 year old daughter can be very shy. In order to get the Ice cream special with the round of golf you have to say "Todel Yodel". I asked her to say it and she backed up behind me and said she was too shy. Both of the women behind the counter one of which appeared to be the owner kept saying she needed to say it. My daughter started to get more upset and eventually started to cry. Even then the best they would do is say that all of us could say it with her. By this time with all of the unwanted attention my daughter was sobbing. I asked for and was refunded my "course fee" and her charge and we sat out while my som and his friends played, but I will never come back to this place and it's pretty sad to see the power trip these two got at the expense of my daughter. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star! The employees that work here are very rude. My husband went with my daughter last year and had an issue and we all decided to try again today and we didn't even make it inside. The woman came outside yelling at us for where we parked, no signs posted anywhere about no parking. If she had been nicer it wouldn't have been an issue. When my husband said this is the second time we had an issue and now they just lost a customer. She said she didn't care and didn't need us anyway! read more

My daughter found this mini golf on Google. Just from the photos alone, we knew we had to go! It was so adorable! The people working there were delightful and their dog mascot, (Mulligan), was so sweet! We played one round and felt as if we had been to Switzerland for a quick trip. It was an absolute pleasure to experience a brand new putt putt course. With all the bells and whistles of a modern location (cooling stations, lights everywhere, pine smelling buildings, clever water traps). Absolutely gorgeous and adorable Swiss themes for each hole. Others must agree - there were many people there, but the pace was great, the course well organized, and everyone was very nice. Beware the line-up at the 18th hole if they are busy, but we skipped it and had a great experience still. I highly recommend - the location is breathtaking. Amazing panoramic views at sunset with nearby forested area, and they have put up twinkle lights to that makes a great date night ambiance. read more

My son and his friends went golfing. My son and one of his friends arrived later and his friends were half way thru the course. The rest of the group went back to the beginning to play with him and his friend. They were not allowed due to needing to pay a replay fee even though they did not finish the course in its entirety. A woman came out and stated they were making others feel uncomfortable and taking part in suspicious activity even though the group was being quiet and respectful. The kids who were half way through were willing to pay the fee but my son and his friend decided to forego the 1st half of the course to be with the rest of the friends so they wouldn't have to pay the fee. The employee kept pushing the group who was half way to stay inside or pay replay fee even after group made the decision to skip forward to be in same spot. This is mini golf for goodness sakes. The kids were willing to pay the fee. The scene made by the employee was rude and unnecessary. read more

This is an adorable mini golf course that is well maintained. The Switzerland theme along with the out-of-this-world detail makes the course very unique. They have fun facts all around and painted goats by local artists and groups. This course is semi-accessible as well. I really want to give this place 5 stars, but 1 star service I received prevents me from doing so. Additionally, the price ($10 - sorry $9.77 for most people) is exorbitant. When she rang us up, I was shocked to have to pay $4 to go in and watch my son play mini golf. When I KINDLY asked why in the world I was being charged to do so, she got super passive aggressive and snapped at me "I have to pay to insure every person that is on the course, so you have to pay to be a 'score keeper'". Sounds like the price of doing business, eh? I figured that cost would be already included in the VERY HIGH price to play the course. She then continued to make sassy comments about how much I will love the course and it is worth it to pay the $4. I paid the $4 to watch my son have a good time and be in the moment with him, not to see your course. I will never return, but I do suggest that if you enjoy mini golf and don't mind spending crazy amounts of money for it, this place is a must see! If you're on the fence about draining your bank account, try Farmington - they have a more challenging course and good ice cream, too. :) read more

Oh, The Matterhorn I love you so. This Swiss themed mini golf course is well worth the drive to Canton. The course is challenging, rolling hills and obstacles-- included faux goat poop-- but that's just icing on the cake here. My favorite hole has you choose between a windy bobsled route or a bumpy ski route. This place is brand new so expect a rough traction turf to slow down your ball; just another factor to add to the challenge if you ask me. The theme is done perfectly. There are fake porcelain goats painted in assorted themes throughout the course. There are fun facts about Switzerland at each hole, with cheeky themes, such as the aforementioned goat poop, a famous water tower that was used for torture, and a reference to Swiss banking. The fun themes really brought our experience to a whole new level. The place is clean, bright and new. It's a really nice space, they're even growing corn for atmosphere. Really cool. My only complaint was the zero shade for the first half of the course. It was hot and sunny. I was melting by the time we made it to the water tower, which not only supplied shade but also a nice fan. I guarantee if I went on a cooler day or later in the evening, this review would have been 5 stars. Keep that in mind and yodel on. read more

This course is amazing! Kudos for an awesome job. However, a couple of concerns I have- the pricing is over the top. Yea, this a great course but to have to pay as a spectator is a bit much (6.00?). Also, I do agree with others that our first impression was the owner being a bit curt, however I feel she softened up when we went on and on about how beautiful the course is. Lastly, we bought ice cream after we golfed. We paid the 4.50 price yet we were never told that if you golf you get an additional 1.50 off the price of ice cream. We saw the sign posted after the fact and feel the owner should have known enough to make this offer to us - instead this was never mentioned to us. 57.00 to play golf - absolutely should have offered the 1.50 off for three cones. Great business and I'm sure you have to run a tight shop, however families are your typical customers so I suggest softening up your approach just a bit read more

We have never been to a nicer, more fun mini golf course - ever!!! We learned many new fun facts (on boards all over the course), enjoyed the mister half way though that cooled us off on this hot day, and enjoyed the ice cream at the end. My friend and I each brought our two kids here for mini golf. Our party of six was told after we paid that we would not be allowed to play together, we would have to split into two teams. To prevent our kids from having to separate, my friend and I agreed not to play and get refunded. Then after a very rude older woman practically threw our golf ball at us and snapped at us for questioning the rules, we were on our way. As we are going through the course an email receipt was sent to us. We were not refunded our money and were charged more money for simply walking with our young kids as they played. At the end of the game it was explained that our refund would eventually process and for "insurance purposes" we had to be charged as "score keepers" because we were on the course. So beware, if you have young kids who can not go without an adult, you will be forced to pay simply to stay with your kids. Not a super family place. We will not be returning. read more

Don't let the underwhelming, kitschy visuals from the road dissuade you. While this charming little golf course may lack the curb appeal of a high budget adventure golf tourist taps, this hidden gem is the best course I have ever played. At a first glance, the course looks very simple, but it has a subtle complexity that makes it a wonderful challenge. There are several holes that are not what they seem, as well as interesting new takes on classic tropes. Two holes that stand out in particular are a ski slope themed hole that plays with the effects of surface texture, and a river themed hole in which "losing" your ball in the water hazard is actually the best course of action. Simply put, the course design of this course is sublime. They're not arbitrarily hard, but nor are they childish. While it is not a course for a true beginner, an amateur will find it just as engaging as an expert will. To cap off the charming experience, the owner/creator is just a delight! She is so friendly and engaging I found myself chatting with her a decent amount of time both before and after we played the course! Hearing her talk about her inspiration when designing the course was just wonderful. Thank you very much, Autumn, for making such a wonderful little escape. Your passion for bringing joy to others has shown in every aspect of your work, and it was an utter delight to visit you. As a mini golf connoisseur, I have been to a wide range of mini golf places all over the US. I can say with ease that this was the coolest mini golf experience I have ever had. The entire course is centered around the theme of being in Switzerland, which starts when you pick up your ball and club in a Swiss-style cottage. Each hole has a different theme, accompanied with facts about the Central European oasis. The course allows the golfer to choose their own path instead of just giving the standard "trick path" to get to the hole. The creator of the course was there when we went and she could not have been more welcoming or energetic which got the playing off to a perfect start. We drove 45 minutes just to play and I would have driven double that because it is so worth it!! (Worth noting that we visited in June during COVID-19 and they wore masks and gloves and had each customer put on hand sanitizer before selecting their clubs and balls.) read more

This was a such a fun date for us. The theme is adorable; golfing through the Swiss Alps. Everything is brand new and well constructed. The obstacles are quite fancy and high tech. For instance, the lighting, which was fantastic, is all solar powered. There is a water misting station, which was a LIFE SAVER for me in the summer sun. There is also some holes towards the end of the course that provided shade, which again was a life saver because I was melting. The owner was very personable and made sure everyone had a blast. This could is very well maintained. One of the nicest mini golf courses in the NE area.

This is the best mini golf in CT. Each hole has a a fun fact before you putt. There is also a large misting Station and shaded areas. The last time I was there, they had portable misting fans that were set up along some holes. It looked like they were also purchasing more (I saw a few boxes unpacked in their lobby). There is a chance to win a prize at the end, which is not skill related like other mini golf, thus children may actually have a shot to win something instead of just being able to win a conventional hole in one 18th putt. They have soft serve twist flavors of ice cream, and a neat way of paying for it by dropping a token in a chute that ends up in a dish on the other side of the window. Par is very realistic, and they keep track of daily and all time low scores! read more

I'm incredibly lazy and because of this it takes a once in a lifetime experience to get me to write a yelp review, especially on a Friday night. However, immediately after leaving Matterhorn Mini golf and successfully defeating my fiancee I decided this was a must. Canton CT does not deserve this level of minigolf, however here we are. Matterhorn is the Augusta of mini golf- a true bucket list checkoff. All kidding aside this was an amazing experience and a great start to a beautiful Summer weekend. If you want to be belittled by an owner of a business, then Matterhorn Mini Golf is for you! I took my sister here and when the owner asked what color ball she wanted, my little sister said "purple" and before she could say please, the owner goes "I think you meant please" in a snarky tone. She was going to say please if you would've let her finish her sentence! My sister is a teenager and knows her manners. When we finished our overly priced game of mini golf, we walked back into the main building all excited because my sister, we noticed, got the high score of the day! When we walked in and told the owner/workers the awesome news, the owner started to question us whether or not the score was real or if we faked it. She kept saying "are you sure you got this score?" in a very degrading voice. So, no, I do not recommend this place. read more

The course seems great and the kids had fun, but the owner and employees were super rude and very off-putting! We were all ready for a fun day mini golfing and in a great mood when we walked in the door, but the greeting we received just put the wettest blanket on our spirits. 1. I never said that arranged for the families to come with "food and beverages". I mentioned waters, juice boxes and perhaps a picnic table to put them on. It's interesting that your response notes that people can bring waters when you told me there were only vending machines and no outside food or drinks of any kind allowed. 2. You did NOT say at the start of our conversation that you were "grateful" we considered Matterhorn for our get together. It's just not true. In fact, when I told you what I had planned (kids golfing and parents hanging out) without preamble you blurted out that the party space was booked in a very unpleasant tone and offered no further information, guidance or indication you cared (except to make it clear you weren't happy about the prospect of us coming and "wished you'd called sooner"). At no time did I feel you were grateful about anything I had to offer. It is important to note that I never once returned your attitude and on the contrary I felt like a chastised child and I could hear myself sounding like one as well. 3. The part about telling me about the details of your booked party never happened. Telling me about a family reunion didn't either. 4. When I asked if you if you could accommodate us for golf there was no indication this would be anything but a problem. 5. At the end of out conversation I stated that I was confused because "I thought I was doing a good thing bringing a group to a new business". Only then in a fake friendly voice did you say "oh yes we can't wait to see you!" Uh huh. Sure. 6. I'm not an unreasonable person and am very friendly to people in the service industry as our family has a service related business as well. I didn't imagine being spoken to in a very unpleasant tone throughout our conversation. Why the heck else would I change locations last minute! I didn't WANT to do that. Trust me. I have no reason whatsoever to misrepresent our interaction. Perhaps you were having a bad day and felt overwhelmed. I get that. And of course if I had it to do over I would have called ahead! Fun, friendly, and filled with flare and facts about the landlocked country the size of NJ known as Switzerland! I learned that fact while on the practice putting green shaped like the country. Every hole is beautifully and expertly designed and offers first timers and old fogies a guaranteed good time!! This is my far the most immaculate mini golf I have been to, actually it's the most immaculate place in general that I've ever been. So many mini golf places are run down and just dirty where as this place was so clean I could have slept on it. The water at most minigolfs are full of algae, the water here seemed to be filtered. Beyond the cleanliness, this place has paid attention to every detail. Each hole is extremely unique and likely not appreciated as much as it should be for how much thought they put in. My son wanted to stay at every hole. There is a hole where your ball could end up in a stream and they built a filter/bridge that carries the ball back on to the course. I've also never seen a mini golf made to look like a lake with realistic ducks as part of the course so that was cute too. There are also fun facts about Switzerland and all different goats scattered throughout. The landscaping here is well tended too and the sunflowers were beautiful. I have to add that the owners (and dog) were present and pleasant. And I have to add that there is a tiny community library too. This will be the only mini golf place we ever go to in CT. read more
