Recently attended a work event at Hidden Valley Mini Golf and it was very fun. Hit it right in time before school let out but it was definitely a good crowd of regular patrons along with us. 18 holes, while you can tell it's been around for quite some time, beautiful scenery and nicely kept grounds. All the employees we encountered were very friendly. After a round, we dined downstairs in their outdoor space and the food was pretty good. Different lunch options and I tried the blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich which came with two thick pieces of fish, along with onion rings. They also have an ice cream place connected. We went for Mother's Day. Played a round of golf which was fine but we sat for food and ordered immediately. We waited patiently with 2 kids and a pregnant wife for over an hour and 20 minutes because our server kept apologizing and saying it would be out shortly. When we saw tables getting their meals who showed up 30+ min after us was when we had the issue. Asked how much longer was told 10 more minutes. Paid for our drinks and left. The prettiest mini golf course I've ever been to! The whole course is set back behind the street that you can't even really see from the street, and it's so serene and peaceful with all the greenery and water and buildings. There's also food, drinks, and ice cream to enjoy before/after/in between games! Great place to come with friends, family or for a date spot. As the summer winds down we wanted to get in our annual mini golf excursion, and my son was tired of the same courses we normally visit, so he found Hidden Valley on social media. Well, apparently, a ton of other people did as well. It was absolutely packed with zero parking available, not even in their overflow lot. We ended up in the woods with a lot of other cars, but many visitors seemed to give up and leave. Once at the counter it was a wait for golf clubs and balls, with one poor guy working solo. Unbeknownst to us, rentals are cash only, so we had to hunt down the elusive ATM. Then it became a true waiting game as many visitors stood in long lines for the chance to putt colorful balls. Fortunately, the grounds are beautifully landscaped, with lots of waterfalls, plants, and flowers to distract you while you wait. Plenty of people were taking advantage of the scattered benches to take a rest and a few pictures. There are food options on site. We saw ice cream and a grille offering hamburgers, etc. Mini golf naturally attracts families with kids, but keep in mind that no one under 18 can sit in the beer garden. read more

The food wasn't anything to write home about, pretty basic but considering the beautiful mini golf course we walked first, we GRUBBED on that meal. They did over cook the burger but I should've said something when I ordered but the food, which otherwise was so yummy. The service was also fantastic, our waitress was super sweet and attentive. oh wow - a truly hidden gem! We took our 4 year old out after a day of errands and had such a great time. Definitely try to go outside of a peak day/hours because this place is popular!!! Really affordable mini-golf establishment that was good for her age; we experienced some different layouts for the holes and enjoyed the beautiful views... More like hidden trash. Mini golf is cash only. Too many people. Obnoxious kids out past their bedtime with no parent supervision. There's trash all throughout the mini golf course. It clearly says no food or drink but people get beers and then drink them while playing. Then there's no trash cans so they just leave the cups at every hole. The trees are very overgrown, weeds and leaves everywhere. Very run down mini golf course, not sure why people rant and rave about it. We came all the way from Eastern Connecticut to visit and it was not worth it. We will definitely not be back. Also, it's very dark and buggy. The waterfalls and ambiance of the course were beautiful. The holes themselves are short and nothing special. The grill was a huge disappointment. The wine was served in a wine glass of which I've never seen, may as well been been in a red cup. The flatware is little packages of a knife and fork and tiny napkin in plastic. The water was served in a small styrofoam cup. The fried dough was small and edible when hungry. The salad was basic. I remember when Hidden Valley opened in the early 90's (?). Prior to it, the only miniature golf places around were old school putt-putt places, with flat greens and whimsical obstacles. This was the *nice* minigolf place. I hadn't visited in years, but it's still the nice minigolf place. It's a really nice, relaxing atmosphere. The greenery is all well-groomed. It really does live up to its name. There are no wacky obstacles to be found. The greens were in great condition. The obstacles are all hills, dips, rocks and logs. And who can forget the water wheel and child-sized wooden train? They even have the forethought for benches and even gazebos for people to sit and wait if a hole is still being used. This review is for the waterfront grill. Nice outdoor restaurant with 4(?) different levels. Nice waterfall and landscape. My husband and I had the clam roll with fries which was very good. Our son had fried dough with sauce-so glad they had that on the menu since all the fairs were cancelled and he had been craving fried dough! Service was quick and friendly. Simply the best - we have been all around the state playing mini golf this summer. This place is hands down the best in CT. Caution - be PATIENT if you see many cars, you will have a wait. I haven't been here since 2017 and wow, has it changed. From hole 10 onwards, our party and everyone in line were being attacked by mosquitos, most likely coming from the stagnant water. Unattended teenagers were using the clubs to splash water at each other, hitting other players. I could forgive their yelling profanities, but when they started hitting their balls before our turn was up, we called it quits. My 8 year old said the water smelled like our dog's anal glands. It was truly a disgusting family night. We're itching all over from the mosquito bites! read more

My partner went to the window to express that we were ready to order, the woman said she will send someone to our table. My review is for the waterfront grille only. This is a simple yet slightly elevated snack bar located within a mini golf course, batting cages and an ice cream complex. Covid precautions were all being adhered to-that I could observe. Our waitress was lovely and appropriately attentive. My son had the kids hot dog (Hummel) that came with a fries and drink. I tried to snap a quick picture, but his big hammock hand got in the way. I ordered the lobster roll and iced tea. The lobster roll was a solid 3.5 stars. I wish the lobster meat was heated up a bit longer and had a TAD More butter coating the meat. The other (very very minor) issue was trying to eat the lobster roll without the small pieces of meat dropping to the table. I think i needed some kind of plate- but I realize this is most like a ME problem- I'll grab some napkins :) With an iced tea our order totaled $28 and some change. I was planning on mini golf afterward, but I did not manage our time- so we will return next Tuesday- when my other kid's sport's schedule dictates my life and she has practice nearby.
