    Elephant in the water

I'm still pretty new to mini-golf, but I figured I could get a little bit of mini-golf practice in. After all, I volunteered to staff it at my job, so it would only be right that I get some mini-golf play in before I staff it for 6 and a half hours. Thankfully, this golfing course ain't too far from where I live, so this ain't too bad of a drive to get there. You just have to make a U-turn at the end to get there if you are coming from the northbound lanes like I was. Upon arrival, you kind of see the Safari-theme pretty easily here. You have models of giraffes, gorillas, and elephants amongst other African icons on the golf course. The name of the holes also correlate with African themes such as The Tusk, Zebra Crossing, and Kilimanjaro. Pars for every hole are either 2 or 3 shots, and you don't get to your first Par 3 until The Loop (Hole 10). I played two rounds today and I find this mini-golf course to be pretty beginner friendly. None of the holes were so hard that I needed to get to the 6-shot maximum for any hole, and on both rounds I even got a hole-in-one in a hole (Hole 13 for the first round and Hole 15 for the second). In both rounds I even got 2 birdies on 2 other Par 3's. My scores were still over par on both rounds after all 18 holes, but there was a noticeable improvement on my second round as I shaved 4 off my score. If you like mini-golf and want something stress-free, this is definitely your golf course. As for the customer service, the receptionist was pretty helpful. You can even nab some ice cream after the game if you're coming on a hot day like I did. I got a Chillwich that was $7 and locally manufactured. Honestly, for $7, this hit the spot. I got the Thiq Mint, and it is a HUGE cookie sandwich of goodness. For the pricing of the games themselves, you have to pay $10 for one round, and then for the second round, you can get a dollar off. There is a caveat though that might force you to bring your A-game: If you get a Hole-in-1 on Hole 18, you get your second game free which saves you $9. I will say though, if you are attempting for that, it is NOT easy to get a Hole-in-1 on that last hole. Actually, the way it is designed, it is very difficult to pull off. I was able to get a Birdie on the hole, but not the Hole-in-1. All-in-all, a very fun mini-golf course, and it is a great place for beginners to grab their putts and play a good game. I would love to come back here soon to get better at the game.

The course is very nice. It is very long and thought out. Very creative as well. It's a great place for kids. It's a little more expensive than other places but worth the money for the experience.

My family loves this mini golf course.Especially on a hot summer day it has plenty of shade and feels like a real oasis .It has a cute little area with tables and umbrellas where you can enjoy some local delicious ice cream! The staff was always nice and welcoming, very accommodating. The decor could use a little updating ,other then that I definitely recommend it!

Great afternoon at Safari Golf! We've tried many mini golf courses around in CT and this one is really nice. It took us about 45 minutes to complete with our 5yr old son. They have a huge parking lot and bathrooms which is a plus!

Always a fun inexpensive thing to do with the family! Love coming here and look forward to next time on this well maintained course!

Super fun mini golf course, or as the southerners would say, putt putt. Safari themed, with statues of lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants, gorillas, a lion and even a croc. They're great for fun selfies! Great for the kids, but as an adult I still found it very enjoyable. Come on your birthday for a free game!

Went here with someone of my friend for her birthday. First time mini golfing and I enjoyed myself. The course was clean and friendly for kids. I enjoyed the scenery and the great time. The corse was easy to follow with seating at the majority of all the holes. It was very non expensive to attend and it was definitely worth the change! I would go back and gold again.

Very fun mini golf location. Well manicured greens and landscaping. Fun holes. It's on a busy stretch of road which takes away some of the ambiance but it's a very nice place. Better bathrooms and more food/beverage options would be nice but otherwise it's an amazing place! Would definitely go back!

Visited the Bronx Zoo this week and decided to continue the safari theme. Adult ticket is a little less than ten dollars, great value. Nicely landscaped. Conveniently located off major highway. Safe outdoor activity during pandemic.

This place is average and I'd say overrated. The animals are cute but not integrated into the course and neither are the water features.

We were simply told that we could not throw the larger items, only the cups, and then left to figure everything else out on our own. To make matters worse, we paid extra for the "360 video experience," only to find out it was nothing more than our own phone being placed on their device -- something that was never properly explained beforehand. Charging customers extra for that is extremely misleading. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of care and professionalism from the two staff members working. After sitting around for an extended period with no communication, we literally had to go out and ask whether our session was even over. That level of disinterest and poor customer service was obvious the entire time. My family and I came here to celebrate a birthday, and instead we left frustrated and disappointed. Spending nearly $300 for this level of service was a complete waste of money. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone.

We went for the $200 room, which came with one large item, one medium, one small, and a variety of plates and cups to smash. The process starts with signing waivers, storing your stuff in a locker, and suiting up with a helmet (with a face guard), gloves, and a thin jumpsuit. They also give you a wireless speaker so you can blast your own music while you rage which adds a fun personal touch. Inside the room, the rules are pretty straightforward: don't break the walls, don't hit each other, and keep communicating. You get a choice of "weapons" including bats, pipes, crowbars, a skateboard, and hammers. For about 30 minutes, we were on our own with plenty of room to let off steam and smash things to our hearts' content. Was it fun? Absolutely. Smashing stuff is as therapeutic as you'd hope. Was it worth $200? That's a tougher call. It felt a bit steep for what you get, but the experience did match what was advertised. I imagine you could find similar rooms for less money outside of Manhattan, but this is New York; just about everything is pricier here, even breaking stuff. Overall, I had a blast, but if you're on a budget, keep in mind that the cost is definitely part of the thrill in this city.

I surprised her and brought her here. We had a time! They allow you to bring your phone into the private room and the Playlist we had just added to the experience. I was throwing my plates. Then I chose my bat Lucille (TWD reference iykyk lol) and beat my electronics down! After you fill out the waiver you lock your thing in the locker and then get suited up.They offer larger suits just ask the staff. They were chill and friendly. The 20 mins seems fast before you go in but honestly it was just enough time. Id love to have some bigger items to beat like furniture or a large TV. Ooo or those school building style long light bulbs lol. Great girls night, date or solo date.

I booked the Double Trouble package, which was $89.99 + tax. It included two large electronics, two small electronics and ten plates (which were my favorite part). There's a cord to hook up your phone for music, which was a nice touch. One thing I'll say is that we overheated--the room was way too hot. With the gear on, being active, and no air circulation, it got uncomfortable fast. It's definitely something fun to do every now and then or decompress in a unique way.

But before I talked about that, note that this place is both wrecking club AND break bar combined. Front of the house is the bar and the back is wrecking area. We were sent liability waivers to sign prior to coming. Once there, was when it was weird. Emails prior to going said to arrive at 15mins prior to our time which we promptly did. But it was odd because I had to ask the bartender twice what to do and we were told to wait in the back by the doors to wrecking club. Nobody came the first time and the second time it was past our time slot. That irked me. Once in, we put our stuff in lockers that don't lock by the way so I could have easily opened that previous wrecking club door and stole stuff but okay... how i know? Because i peeked in and tried the door and it opened bc we waited so long. LOL. We geared up with gloves and a hard hat with a shield. My head is funny shaped apparently because I tried so many hats. This hallway where we geared up had dell monitors/printers to be smashed. It led to one big room where we caused destruction. According to their site, Rampage includes the following: 1 premium electronic (game consoles, monitors, printers, etc) and 8 smaller electronics (office phones, keyboards, speakers, etc) and 30 breakables (glasses, plates, mugs, etc). What we got was monitor, printer and a bunch of glass cups which def didn't add up to 30 for sure. Available tools for destruction that we had were 1 crowbar, 2 metal bats, 1 sledgehammer and something else that I can't remember. We got to play our own music so I blasted the rock music of my youth. We had a blast smashing sh*t to smithereens!! We just wished had more glassware to break because it was so satisfying to hear/see it shatter. Fyi: Dell monitors are hella difficult to break. Who knew?!?! We were told of our time up and by time we were done, I was sore haha. Arm workout of the day haha. I would definitely come back if I had another coupon. Best way to get out the stress/anger inside.
