My beautiful mother was failed by the very people and system that were supposed to care for and protect her. I watched her suffer while feeling that our concerns were not being taken seriously and that she was not receiving the care, attention, compassion, or basic human dignity she deserved. I am still pursuing this matter, so there are details I cannot discuss publicly at this time. But I have not forgotten what happened to my mother, and I will not be silent about it. I hope every person responsible for the way she was treated is someday forced to understand exactly what helplessness feels like: to depend upon someone for care and compassion and receive neither. Perhaps then they would understand what they put my mother and our family through. No family should ever have to walk away from a hospital knowing their loved one would still be alive if they had done their job. I intend to pursue every appropriate avenue available to me for answers and accountability. My mother mattered. How she was treated mattered. And I will continue to fight for her.

Guess BMW's are getting pretty expensive. Time to press on the patients. Or Maybe that shiny new building is a bit more costly than estimated. There was a time when Strand GI was a great place. Now your only given a ticket to ride if you can pay up. I'll have to search out new Dr's or take my chances. Health care today is out of control. It all changed when Drs stepped out and allowed office managers to run things. People with no medical training making decisions based on $$.

Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach is the facility to go to. Their scheduling is efficient. They call you when they say they will. Procedures are done at the scheduled time and the pre-procedure intake is smooth beginning with sign in and very efficient in preparing for the procedure itself. All protocols designed to assure patient safety were clearly explained in easy-to-understand terms. The procedure team was professional and caring. Post-procedure needs were effectively managed and discharge/follow up instructions were clear. Preliminary results were available to take home and also immediately posted to the patient portal. All staff were friendly, compassionate, and professional in their demeanor throughout the whole process. This what they do, and they are good at it. The 7900 N. Kings Hwy. facility functions as a well-oiled machine. Or perhaps well-lubed.
