They took very good care of me and I definitely recommend this place for anybody who has issues

I cannot say enough positive attributes about the Strand GI Endoscopy Center. I had a colonoscopy performed there in December of 2025. The entire operation of the Center is of the highest professionalism. From the time I entered and was registered by the receptionist, Cassidy, to the time I left everyone I interacted with was a consummate professional. The nursing care under the direction of Leigh, Shannon, April, and Brigitte was outstanding, as was the care I received in the recovery room from Thania. Dr. Naren Nallapeta, who performed the procedure, was first rate. Each of the health care professionals possessed a fine bedside manner and were highly competent. The Strand GI Endoscopy Center is a first rate organization, we are fortunate to have such a resource in our community. I'am new to Myrtle Beach and have had a GI doctor in NC for 7 years and began to look for a local GI doctor and googled GI doctors in Myrtle Beach as I have acid reflux and a hiatal hernia and choose Stand GI. I called and made am appointment to see one of their doctors and they informed me that Dr Edmison had openings and could see me quickly I was ecstatic to hear they could see me the very next day that I made the appointment due to me having a flare up with my hernia not so much with acid reflux the hernia was my main concern as it was effecting my breathing. When I was called into the back to see the Doctor the nurse took my blood pressure which was 200 over 112 and she informed that she did not even want to write it down it was so high and she guided into the room to wait for the doctor. Dr Edmison came in asked what was the reason for my visit and I told him that I have a hiatal hernia and acid reflux and he pressed on my stomach a couple of times asked if it hurt I said no and he wrote a prescription for omepsole I asked if he thought my hernia had gotten bigger and he said he couldn't tell he mentioned if I wanted he could do an endoscope and I said yes but I wanted to wait until my blood pressure came down as recommended by my primary physician. I called back because I was having muscle spasms in my esophagus and asked for a muscle relaxer to calm it down and the medication I asked for was one my mother took and I was told no because it was a controlled substance (I get it) but I asked for anything that would help with the spasms and was told by the nurse no the doctor said he wasn't going to give you anything for the spasms get your primary doctor to give you something i called my primary doctor who gave me a prescription for baclofen which is commonly used to treat reflux episodes, refractory Gerd. A week later I called back to Strand GI and left a message that I wanted to get scheduled for the endoscopy procedure and never received a call back I waited another week and called back on 3/27/2025 and left another message saying I was calling to get an appointment for a endoscopy i did not ask for any medication I only left a message saying I wanted to make the appointment for the endoscopy that I discussed with the doctor and received the nastiest message back from what I guess is Dr Edimison's nurse saying Dr Edimison said he's not giving you an medication and your not getting any thing from him and that I can find another practice if I don't like it. I send a message back saying I never asked for medication and yes I will look for another provider with a practice that cares about their patients.I plan to report this doctor to the SC medical board as I have never encountered such horrible treatment steer clear of this doctor he is a pure ass I had to choose a star rating and didn't even want to give him 1 star when he deserves 0 stars read more

I recently underwent an endoscopy at Grand Strand GI with John Edmison and it was to say the least a very unfortunate experience. Getting in for an appointment for an extremely short, and extremely unnecessary doctor appointment was very frustrating. This served as a painful reminder of how disjointed and frustrating the healthcare system is in the United States. Instead of the hope for quality health care this establishment is run more like a factory churning procedures with zero regard for the actual patients and their health care needs. Paying out of pocket was hard enough for me saving up for the procedure only to be told I would require an additional visit which would the same charges once more. I could barely afford the first charges as it were. The anxiety in surrounding healthcare in this county is unbearable enough as it is. And is shocking to think that something as essential as health has become a transitional nightmare. Had this been any other business or company I would demand my money back for their lack of performance. I honestly cant think of any other company that would be allowed to get away with something like this. read more

What can I say no one wants to have to go to a place where you get endoscopy sand colonoscopies if you have to go to one this is a good one. My doctor dr. Edmondson is amazing. Very thoughtful and very caring of his patients. He takes the time to sit down and talk to you about your history things you like you don't like your family and so on. The staff there is also very nice and friendly. They are affiliated with Grand Strand Hospital which I believe is probably one of the Premier hospitals in this area so if you need something done to this nature I highly recommend this location read more

I saw a physician at Strand GI a few weeks ago for the first time. We are new to the area so this practice was new to us and it took six weeks to get an appointment. We waited in the exam room for over 40 minutes for only 5 minutes with the doctor. He was just fast and in a hurry instead of listening to my concerns. They told me I needed a colonoscopy and we could schedule on out time frame. Then he sent the nurse in and said it needed to be done next week. The doctor also said he would not be doing it but anyone there could do it. We had waited over a month to see this particular doctor. Who wants to show up for that kind of procedure and a stranger you have never met be the one performing the procedure. I have had this procedure done twice in another state but always the same doctor I saw did the procedure. I found this very odd you see one doctor but whoever has free time does your procedure. This reminds me of an assembly line and they do not want to miss a dollar. I am in healthcare and picked up on this very quickly. Needless to say when I called to cancel they tried their best to change my mind. I told them I had to many red flags to let them do any type of procedure on me !!!! Rude & Very Judgmental if you have tattoos. Never had a doctor use cuss words while talking to a patient . Plus because you are nervous about seeing a doctor that makes you crazy & need to see a psychiatrist. Would never return or recommend. read more
