Excellent pizzas. Dude, LOVED the Pastrami pizza. At first I was a bit nervous about pickles on my pizza but it actually turned out to be AMAZING. Definitely need to come again. The pizza came out pretty fast (although it felt so looong since I was so hungry and it smelled soooo good haha). You gotta go to capt. fatty's and you order at the back. It was kind of cold cuz we got there late and were near the back door but it was fine and the atmosphere was great! I honestly cannot say enough good things about this business and the owner Stephen. While I have enjoyed their pizzas on multiple occasions, it is always spectacular. 100% perfection from the crust, to the ingredients, to the service! They experiment with exciting recipes like Biscuits 'N Gravy, Banana 'N Nutella and popping some local seafood in their stone oven. The cherry on top was today when they were camped out at Captain Fatty's Brewery and I was at Samsara Winery. I called to place a pizza order and the wife delivered my hot, fresh pizza by hand! I went to settle and she said that she would stop by on their way out. I finished up and came by their tent to pay my tab and because I was a First Responded nurse wearing scrubs they wouldn't take my money! I attended Taste of Old Town Goleta today and LOVED Woodfire Catering's pizza! I tried the tomato basil option and it was fantastic. I really loved their set up too. The oven was easily moveable but safe. They were professional and got the pizzas out fast!! Woodfire Catering was definitely a fan fav at Taste of Old Town. Hands down I am a believer in the wood oven making a dynamite pie. They have some unique combinations as well like this tri tip finished with a chipotle sauce. I have seen the Woodfire pizza around town and breweries and finally got a chance to catch up with them at the SB Cider house. The pizza is really good. The kids got a cheese and it was plenty cheesy. I got tri-tip, mushroom, and blue-cheese (because I could) and I was not disappointed! The pizza is a base $12 with $1 per topping, which seems reasonable. Although, I wish some of the veggies were cheaper as they would go great but not work the extra bucks (to me). The couple working were not putting off the best vibe and seemed to be arguing a bit costing a star for the experience. But, everyone has a bad day and I am sure to be back and hope to enjoy the vibe as much as I like the pizza! read more

Had the absolute pleasure of enjoying a little wood fire pizza at Cottonwood Canyon last weekend. Steve was both entertaining and kind as he fired up several different pizzas for us. Steve and Freddie have the best pies in town and for many miles. We're especially fond of the Arugula and Blue Cheese, and, their Pepperoni, Sausage and Mushroom is a family favorite. We love their BBQ Oysters when available and are looking forward to seeing the Tri Tip come back. A few years ago, they catered an important birthday party for me. Wow! Our guests raved about Santa Barbara Woodfire Catering's three pizzas, super fresh green salad and Steve's delicious Carrot Cake. We're very happy they are next to Captain Fatty's brewery so we can support both businesses at the same time. Steve has been a long-time community supporter and has helped me get supplies for the elderly, college students and young families during the worst of the Covid shortages. Just ate here last week for a celebration at Captn Fattys. The owner was so friendly! His pizzas are creative and delicious... The dough is so airy & light. I ordered a sausage, mozz, mushy and olive pizza and these toppings didn't compromise the strength of the dough...it didn't make it mushy or to oily. It still crunched and was still soft at the same time MMM! Yum! Didn't need to add extra topping like parm or pepper flakes. All the flavor was already on the pizza. I'll make the extra trip to goleta to have this pizza anytime I'm craving it. read more

I had the chance to try the pizza at a catered event at Cottonwood Canyon Winery. The pizza was done great. He adds his own creativity to everything from the dough to the toppings and everything tastes amazing together. I never had ground-tri-tip until today, and it was the best pizza topping I've had. We've just been introduced to these folks but would follow them to the end of the earth. Met them at Captain Fatty's and it was supposed to be all about beer. Although the beer was great, the food was terrific too. Have you had a tri-tip pizza with chipotle aioli? What about a chili and Mac and cheese, sausage burrito that's wrapped in bacon? Big as a Buffalo with a bad ass blue truck to match towing behind the oven and accessories needed for the Field Unit Kitchen that produced dish after dish of consumables. Protein based, Surf and Turf - with subtle details observed only from being a former chef myself. Camping along with you - at dinner time he produced some of the best Flatbread Wood fired treats you can imagine. Limitless and creative toppings, using the local red oak logs indigenous to this area. Seems like he could make a dirt clod taste amazing on this flatbread. But beyond imaginative and delicious flatbreads - his culinary expertise digs deep into Coastal California Traditions with fresh local oysters so tasty and delicious in themselves, that with the added hyrbrid ponzu he made- all I could do was moan for more. Beyond half shell consuming he baked the oysters soaked in sauces and herbs that were amazing. With Fish and mollusks - of course made one of the best traditional Cioppino's ive had. Went to Captain Fatty's to enjoy a beverage and decided to order some pizza. We got one arugula blue and a margherita with mussels on top. They were both absolutely delicious! Both the crust and sauce is delicious, piles of toppings are not needed to hide the them. The mussels were fresh and my favorite! Me and my friend went to Captian fatty's and we noticed the cutest Australian Shepard. We began playing with her and then the we started up a conversation with her owners. The owners of the dog run this catering service. They were 2 of the nicest people I have ever met. We loved talking to them. They were so nice they gave us some great food (potato tornado and mac and cheese with sweet chili sauce). They made our night so much better! Steve makes the most amazing pizza's. The crust was delicious. He is so creative; he made taco nachos pizza from our left over appetizers!! It was a hit! The pizzas are well done: they don't go crazy with the toppings like some places. Keep it simple so you can taste each of the fresh ingredients. If they have seafood, GET IT.
