Okay. Discovered this place when we were heading to the French pastry place. They were closed for construction and so we checked out Matties's. Such a happy accident. Delicious pastries, yummy coffee roasted on site, and friendly staff. Since my first visit, the owner has been present almost every time. She is so sweet to humor me and make a kids cinnamon "latte" for my sweetie. The lemon blueberry scone amazing. Friendly patrons as well hanging out. The art is also fun to scope out. Had a great experience here at Mattie's today! The staff is such a delight - helpful, kind and welcoming! It was my first time here and wow, there's a lot to see! They serve breakfast, lunch, coffee, tea and more. There is a sweet gift/bookshop inside and plenty of seating to meet with friends or enjoy a good book! I ordered the egg/ham/cheese English muffin breakfast sandwich and was wonderfully surprised by the high quality ingredients. I asked the barista if they could make my coffee warm since I struggle with super hot coffee. They were more than happy to fulfill my request. One thing to note - they actively roast beans inside the shop so it is a little smokey when you first enter but if you prefer to avoid that, there is a drive up window. I highly recommend this sweet little coffee shop gem and will be back with friends to enjoy again! read more

It's expensive! The outdoor chairs are flimsy. They don't have non-fat milk, which would be absolutely fine if the person at the cash register did not try to convince the customer that 2% milk is non-fat. The breakfast sandwich I had was expensive, fat laden, and tasteless. They do not have pup-cups. But the indoor's environment is very nice and welcoming and the service was fantastic. read more

One of my new favorite coffee shops, they have really good pastries as well! Delicious coffee (freshly ground to the right of the counter), so many flavor options and coffee types. I tried a few of their pastries and they were sooo good. They do have a lot of Christian related items in the store, so if that bothers you then you might want to avoid. We are not Christians but it didn't bother me, there are plenty of places to sit and look at art. read more

It wasn't too sweet (which I prefer) so you could actually taste the coffee, and the pistachio flavor came through nicely. Wow, wow, wow! When someone said "let's meet at Mattie's Coffee shop for coffee and a sandwich" I never expected a place like this. Walk in and smell the coffee, the pastries, the seasonings. My friend had a chi tea latte hot with oat milk and the Dagwood sandwich with mustard. I loved my chicken salad sandwich. Both were served on the freshest croissants I've ever had since I visited Paris. They serve breakfast all day. They have greeting cards, books, and overall a quaint little boutique-style shop. Service is 5-star and atmosphere is cozy enough for a quiet meal with friends or a single working person looking to breakaway from home. Definitely on my faves list. read more

I seriously love this place. It just feels warm and inviting as soon as you walk in. You are always greeted by someone who is more than willing to take the time to go over whatever questions you may have about the menu, the food is always prepared fresh (there's no pre-packaged sandwiches at this spot), in-house made pastries (you have to try one of the scones, they are magical), and the cutest gift shop with all kinds of Christian book, trinkets, and other goodies. My gosh, where do I even start! Matties is a gem when it comes to coffee shops. It's actually quite large. Very clean, cozy. My soul was happy & I was smiling the ENTIRE time. It's the little treasures in life that leave the biggest impact & that's how I felt being inside Mattie's. I ordered the Rose Vanilla Cream Cold Brew. It was delicious. I plan on visiting more often & trying an array of menu items & coffees. Especially their cream cheese filled scone. I loved the art on the walls. The music, the puzzle anyone can add too. The plants in the window were gorgeous. I also loved all the little trinkets, puzzles, books and I am definitely purchasing The Action Bible. Can't wait to come back! Yes it's a cool little shop with Christian books and usually good service but I literally have made better iced coffee at home. I love this place!! I've been here twice now and it is such a lovely space with delicious food and drinks, and warm, friendly service! There's plenty of space inside, free wifi, and lots of plants and natural light that make it a really nice experience if you're here to hang out for a bit. They play a nice mix of classical music at a moderate volume which provides a nice background without being too disruptive if you're also trying to work a little. They have a few games in the windowsill and a very cute shop area complete with an adorable little kids section! Looks like they've also recently added a drive through if you're on the go! So far I've tried a decaf vanilla latte (so good and smooth) and the grilled chicken sandwich (served on a huge, buttery, flakey croissant) and was very happy with both! So glad this place opened up! Conveniently located in casady square. Mattie's has just about any fresh made from scratch pastry you can imagine. I've had their blueberry muffin and it is to die for! Tons of blueberries throughout and super moist. Her hot chocolate was also delicious and she even added whipped cream with Ghirardelli chocolate drizzle that's the good stuff am i right?! I stopped in with my mom for lunch on another visit and we got their ham and cheese on baguette. I devoured it. Everything is so fresh and just done so right. I don't even like tomatoes on anything but i ate it on here and didn't realize until the very end. The place is spotless and organized and the owner is just about as friendly as can be. Never been here before but like to try small businesses for coffee when visiting. Waited for 15 minutes, (which is fine, it was only 2 people and they were busy) then their system went down so waited longer. I was very patient. Then was offered a regular iced coffee because they couldn't get their expresso machine to work. I was wanting a latte and avocado toast. Due to their systems being down they couldn't take card and I only had $4 on me. I couldn't get a cinnamon roll because that was going to make the total $7. It honestly should have been given to me for free for waiting so long and being as patient as I was. Wasn't a good experience for me but maybe one day I will come back to try again. read more

SO GOOD! I noticed this place a couple weeks ago & wanted to try it cause it's so close to my house. I finally went on my way to work this morning and it exceeded my expectations! Finally got a chance to try out this cute coffee shop and I wasn't disappointed! The baristas were welcoming as soon as I walked in the door and one helped me choose what drink to try. The blueberry lavender tea fog was so delicious! The gift shop is a fun addition to browse while waiting for your drink and the decor and overall ambience of the coffee shop was refreshing. It was charming to see groups of different generations enjoying what Mattie's had to offer. Definitely will be back! Constructive criticism: seating was not very comfy for me to study here for very long which was a bummer. And my table was wobbly so some of my drink spilled which was frustrating and napkins are only kept at the register area-- I'd like to see more self-serve items kept in a more central area.
