Such a cute coffee shop! The atmosphere was inviting and cozy, like a plant shop and coffee shop had a baby. There were plants everywhere, giving it such a fresh and vibrant vibe. There was plenty of seating and definitely a place I'd work from. They even had a section with merch and a cute spot to grab seeds for your garden, which was such a unique touch! I ordered a cortado with salted caramel, vanilla, and oat milk and it was incredibly delicious and fairly priced! I was also happy to see they have a drive-thru for those days when I'm in a rush. I was in MWC this morning and after reading reviews, decided to try this local coffee shop. I prefer supporting local but usually options are limited when you prefer tea to coffee. Anyway, decided to go inside and noticed a few taking advantage of the super cute space to work and adding a mental note when I need to escape my home office. A very kind person greeted me to take my order and we discussed our love of cinnamon. Unfortunately the cinnamon buns are no longer available so I ordered a blackberry sage black tea and a small iced Mexican Mocha. The tea smells amazing and the first sip of the mocha addressed my cinnamon craving. As others have mentioned, they love plants and offer a fun propagation exchange. Came out and tried them for the first time with a friend. My drink was okay but my friend had only took two sips and couldn't get past the bitter taste. We asked if there was a way they could remake it or we couldn't receive a different drink. They refused and told us that we would have to buy a new drink. They were very inconsiderate and rude about it. Wouldn't recommend going. We won't be returning. read more

I guess today just wasn't my day to visit especially for the first time. When you visit somewhere on an initial visit you have such high expectations and you want to try all these different items well at least I do. I pull in to the drive-thru and there are 3 cars in front of me so that is a good sign and I see a lady walk to the cars and taking orders. The line does move pretty quick though. So now I am the second person in line and the lady comes to me and I say this is my first time here so you might as well come back this may take awhile. Then even before she walks away I start to ask her questions and boy am I glad I did because two of the things that I ask her about the Vegan Cinnabomb Bun and the Spinach Mushroom Quiche they were out of stock, she said to come back tomorrow that they should have it in. I ended ordering a Caramel Silk, Passion Fruit Twist, and Vegan Spinach Mushroom Kolache. I thought that the passion fruit twist would have been sweeter than it was due to all the fruit in there and the puree but it really wasn't sweet at all, but in all fairness I did try it after the caramel silk . The kolache was not what I expected in a good way. First it was shaped different in a round circle. Then the breading has some kind of seasoning on it. read more

Vibe check certified. This cool and sleek coffee shop serves up excellent coffee. I had a (very indulgent) iced caramel silk and a hot soy milk latte which were both delicious and nutty. Good beans! Great space for getting together or getting things done, the loft- like interior is well lit and airy. I will be back faster than you can say... get to the chopper. So pleasantly surprised to find this space here, with staff as lovely as a summer's day. I think I will feel at home in MWC/OKC. Aaand...they have a drive thru. And maybe, if you sit here long enough... you might find yourself in the middle of a Korean romcom.. where the plot twist is you actually love the one you hated, and they admired you all along. (It was just your aloofness that held them back from telling you.. that you're so different from anyone else that they've ever (ever) ever met.) The store is covered in plants and is a completely relaxing space to enjoy a coffee and study. The drink menu is pretty extensive by my go tos are the almond swirl and the Mexican mocha. The baristas and owner are also super friendly and take their time explaining anything you need. There is a plant swap and local made goodies as well inside the shop. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews. I agree that the prices can be a little high, but that's the case a lot times with small business vs. chains (Starbucks). I go to open flame multiple times a week lol. I love their hot teas in the morning. I can choose between honey or agave which are my sweeteners of choice so that's awesome. And their lemonade! I add fruit flavors to it and I'm so impressed by how much the fruit flavor comes through. It doesn't taste like artificial mango, coconut or peach. I would highly recommend trying one. Their food can be hit or miss but the croissant, cinnaroll and green chili kolache is good! Customer service is normally wonderful! Especially in the mornings. I've tried a lot of coffee shops mainly for fun, and I usually get a dirty chai latte or some form of latte. I heard really good things about this coffee shop, and wanted to stop by it since we were near Tinker. The interior of the shop is super cute, and has lots of plants which I adore. We got togo order drinks so less of an aesthetic picture, but the drinks were very good. We got a hot Dirty Chai latte, and a hot Caramel Silk, one of their signature drinks. Both are very delicious, and i really enjoyed sipping on coffee surrounded by beautiful plants :) read more

Great people and great coffee is what you'll find here. I've been coming here since I've discovered the shop and I haven't had coffee anywhere else. This business is Oklahoma owned and made meaning the products, gear, and most of what you see is from Oklahoma. The staff, I don't know how they found them but they're just amazing. After a few trips, they remember your order (I've been here too much). They're always suggesting new drinks and food items. They love what they do and it shows in every cup of coffee they make. It's Fall so they've rolled out their fall drinks and they're all so delicious. I've had the B.W.G ( basic white girl) which is a white mocha with cinnamon and pumpkin sauce and if you've ever had horchata, this is a warm horchata. Open Flame is a great place to come, and drink coffee... so let me tell you about it... First off, I love that OKC coffee shops are starting to get outside of just the downtown/midtown area. This is a perfect spot for Midwest City, especially for Rose State College. There is plenty of parking in the back, and i love that there is so much space inside for seating. If you're looking to study, or come hang out with a few friends then this spot is perfect for both... The amount of space that they have keeps the volume of noise in the shop to average, and you dont have to talk too loudly for people to hear you. The coffee is great, and I've been impress the past few times i've been here. I love that they are roasting their own beans, and not buying them already roasted. Also, their selection of merch is pretty nice too if your looking to support local places. The place wasn't busy when I got there. The inside is spacious and has lots of natural lights. Service was friendly. I got an ice caramel swirl. The drink reminds me of Easter. Since it is like a caramel- filled chocolate robin egg in a beverage form. But as I drank it more, I realize this reminds me of a drink I used to get at Dunkin. Is it bad that I'm comparing it to Dunkin? Also I find the coffee a bit sweet. Since I wasn't blown away with this drink, if I come back I will get one of the classics instead. I'm going to be honest, I go in with low expectations to any coffee shop in the OKC area. OKC's coffee scene is horrible. They're either overly crowded with not enough seating, filled with standoffish people, or their coffee is so weak that a vanilla latte is really just flavored milk. So when my friend was like, "Hey, want to try this new coffee shop in Midwest City?" I begrudgingly agreed. Open Flame blew my expectations out of the water. Their location is bright and open with a ton of seating options (thank you!!). Staff was friendly and efficient. I visited on a busy, rainy Sunday afternoon (perfect coffee weather!) and ordered a pour over coffee. Honestly, it was one of the best I've had in OKC. Their coffee is just that good. My friend got a Caramel Silk latte, which wasn't overly sweet (again thank you!!!) and you could ACTUALLY taste the coffee. There's more, if I wasn't impressed enough by actually having a great cup of coffee, they had a laminated piece of paper available for those with hearing disabilities so they can order their drink EXACTLY how they want it. I was so impressed that they had that. Overall, I will gladly commute from NE OKC to Midwest City anytime to visit this coffee shop. read more

Dropped in before heading out for a Sunday drive to check out the new coffee place in MWC. I love local and I love coffee so I figured this would be my gig! And it was. Clean and crisp interior. Friendly barista! I ordered up my usual an Americano with half and half...does that make it a Breve Americano. Or just a Brevé or Bréve. Whatever it is, this is possibly the best one I've ever had. And this girl has had a lot of coffee, espresso in her life. It was very smooth and almost chocolaty consistency. I wish I was here more often as I would definitely stop by for a cuppa before work. I love love love OFC&R! Every single barista is top notch and so dang friendly. And the atmosphere is perfect for getting some work done on a week day (ya know, before the 'rona struck....) Its great to have a local coffee spot so close to home. I have enjoyed every specialty coffee drink I have ordered off the menu - but my basic go to is their iced caramel macchiato with almond milk... Bomb.com. &&they usually throw in a chocolate covered coffee bean. We just recently tried their tea infusions - my DH got the strawberry one with coconut milk and I tried the 'Seattle Summer', which was a cucumber, lime and mint flavored delight! It was super refreshing for a hot night, and really reminded me of a mojito.... [Hey OFC&R, if you're reading this... please consider the addition of vodka to the tea infusions. ;) ] I should also add that they will soon be serving alcoholic beverages... which I am ever-so-impatiently waiting on them to drop the menu. I LOVE how they put little chocolate covered espresso candy an all of their drinks, and I hope they continue to do that no matter how popular they get!! I just bought a bag after I saw how cute they made the drinks :). Sooooo they are going to be slow. This won't be your typical McDonald's coffee run, or Starbucks (even though they take forever, BLEH). Give them time to make the drink, and make it right. You'll be waiting on your drink for a little bit unless you order something quick like their drip coffee. I have only tried this twice- so I got the drip coffee with sugar free dark chocolate syrup (DELISH) the first time, and I got the almond swirl the second time. Their drip is good, y'all. And HOLY MOLY. The almond swirl was AMAZING. Tasted exactly like an almond joy!!! What a delight for the recent 30 degree weather! They have SUCH. Ever since I started spending more time in Midwest City, I noticed that there weren't any good places to get a nice cup of coffee. Luckily, Open Flame opened up down the street from school! One of my favorite things is that the employees don't come off as pretentious. Everyone seems to enjoy making coffee and they're just the friendliest group of people. More importantly, their coffee tastes great. I typically get their pour overs and they have consistently been delicious. I can't really say much about their other drinks because I only get the pour over. I haven't heard anything bad about their sweeter drinks, so take that how you will. Open Flame roasts all of their coffee in house, so you know that you're getting the freshest cup they have. I've yet to be there when they actually roast, but I'm sure it's an interesting thing to see. I've bought their beans a couple times now and they have made consistently good cups at home.
