I purchased 3 mattresses and frames here last week…read more Erin, my sales person, was so awesome! She was extremely helpful and even stayed late to complete my purchase. I loved her attitude. She talked about how much she loves working for this company and how they are so supportive of their employees. Nowadays it seems like everyone is always complaining so it was very refreshing to deal with someone who had such a positive attitude. When I got home, I noticed a very strong odor coming from the automatic bed frame I purchased. I looked it up online and found that others had noticed something similar. When I looked on the tag, it said it contained high levels of polyurethane. It was giving me a severe headache. I have an issue sometimes with formaldehyde and strong chemicals. I never dreamed to see if they were in a bed! But apparently mattresses and particle board can contain high levels of these types of chemicals! I called the store and spoke to the manager. He was very helpful. He said they would exchange the base for me and upgraded me another product that was mostly metal (the particle board was what contained high levels of polyurethane on the original one) free of charge. I just had to pay the $149 sanitization fee that they charge if you return a mattress. Normally, they don't allow returns on the bases, but he made an exception because it was bothering me so much. Overall, I was very pleased and would definitely recommend this store.

Particularly, he wanted a full or twin that was medium firm. Now, this joint has pretty much every type of mattress you might be looking for (don't let the "Clearance Center" in its name mislead you), but they attempt to up-sell like nobody's business! While we were dealing with the salesman, some other employee walked in with a bag of to-go food, an all the employees seemed to be looking his way. I get it -- there's no lunch hour when you are a salesperson. But damn, guys! If you didn't try to upsell so much, we could've been out of there, an you would've had a commission ... and your Taco Bell! Bottom line: We thanked our guy and let him know that we were still looking (we ended up buying elsewhere). He was polite. Still, if you come here, expect an experience similar to that of a used car lot that takes weekly payments.

***Delivery Crew Danger***…read more I have achieved a new level of anger this evening, at the ineffective and lazy delivery men of AFW. On top of them throwing my couches, damaging my walls, being insanely rude to my wife, cursing, intimidating my wife about having to take pieces of our couch up a flight of stairs, and complaining the whole time they were here, I have now discovered that the American Furniture Warehouse delivery men helped me achieve a new level of CUSTOMER DISSATISFACTION, by not even actually assembling the couch! Please tell me what was the purpose of the delivery?! What the actual fudge is the delivery fee for?! I only discovered this after I heard squeaking and grinding as we tried to recline and sit. And when I pulled on the top of the seats they all came apart. I have no idea if there is damage now and I cant begin to express my anger enough. This is the 2nd time AFW has failed massively. I realized as i came here to leave this review they botched our delivery for my daughter's bedroom set 4 & 1/2 years ago. I had forgotten that, and inadvertently i have given them another chance. Its good to see they consistently fail. My mistake. Smh.
