PUSHY!! Any mattress you say that you like that they don't have is the worst thing ever and they mark their mattresses up so that they can drop the price to appear as a deal! Beware!! J.D. or J.T. I was in need of a smaller bed. But one that could support the rods in my back. And the pressure points associated with back problems. I purchased a sealy posturpedic. Over $2000 for mattress alone. Then JB, the salesman, told my husband that he could have it delivered and set up for free since it was over $600. They didn't do that. They pushed it inside my door and took a picture. Then left. I also bought an encasing waterproof mattress and bug cover. (I have these on all my beds). It costs around $69 . But he gave me the cheapest, thinning one they had. And "gave me a discount". It was $49.99. Oh and it wasn't an encasement. It was a fitted piece of plastic. Good grief. After I got the bed set up. I laid on the bed and realized that a woman short like me, (5'2"). Shouldn't be feeling her feet hang off a queen size bed. So I measured it. It should be 80" long. Most beds are. It was 75. And I was stretching it. The mattress was tight. I barely got that. Then I did the width. It should be 60 to 64 inches. Again I'm stretching the measuring tape because the mattress is tight. It is 58 3/4. Or 59 " if you want to round off like mattress firm did. They want to charge me to swap it out. Because all other mattress companies say it should be bigger by an inch or more. Not shorter. Sounds like I got a full xl. Good grief. Can't come to an understanding at mattress firm. And they will not compromise. They are so nice you almost wonder what schooling they went to in order to be narcis. How do you keep turning it back on me. You are the company. That did not hold up to your contract. I'm contacting a lawyer. Don't buy there. They also told me the online people were full of crap and they sell the old stuff in the warehouse. Stupid competition. Don't appreciate people like that. If I didn't need that mattress. Mattress Firm has hired the quintessential manager in Jabril Rogers. I visited this location on February 12 around 6:00. Surprisingly there were several customers in the store (I didn't realize there was so much demand for mattresses). Mr. Rogers was the only associate working at that time. He handled the customers with ease and care. As he finished up with his current customer, he engaged the browsers with information about the different mattress color codes to let them know he was aware of their presence and was not ignoring them. His next customers needed to exchange a mattress with which they were not pleased. Mr. Rogers tried to explain the 'break-in period for a mattress while assuring them he would be more than happy to make the exchange. These customers actually dismissed the expertise of Mr. Rogers and tried to demean his knowledge based on his age versus theirs. Mr. Rogers remained professional and calm, responding to their comments with confidence and polished sophistication. I purchased a pillow based on Mr. Rogers recommendation after he analyzed my sleeping position and discussed with me the issues I've been having with my current pillow. I used the new pillow that night and slept like a baby! I will be returning to purchase a mattress from this young man and this company. They have a winner in Jabril Rogers! read more

I went to Mattress Firm Dalton looking for a Sealy Posturepedic firm composite mattress. This is a high-end mattress that lists for $1449.99 with a "sale price of $1368.00" at Mattress Firm. Consumer Reports had listed a price of $1275.00 for a similar mattress. I had previously researched this mattress in Consumer Reports. I could not find anything close at Sears or several furniture stores in the area. This was the only dedicated mattress store that I visited, so I can't comment about the selection comparatively, however they seemed to have a fairly wide choice of mattresses extending from low end to high end. The store manager, Chuck Carr, was extremely patient and helpful. I am certain that I did not get the absolute best price available, but then I am not a master negotiator. Chuck did work with me on the price, and eventually I purchased it at or slightly below the Consumer Reports price. In addition, Chuck threw in a Tempur-Pedic Pillow for free ($99 list, $89 on Amazon). The most important thing that Chuck dd for me was to allow me to try a set of box springs agreeing to replace them if they were too tall for my bed (which they were) without charging the $149 reprocessing fee. I opted for the $59 delivery service, which included delivery of mattress and box springs, as well as hauling off the old mattress and springs. It was worth the price. Delivery was prompt, courteous, and professional. I love my new mattress and pillow. My back pain was gone after the first night on this mattress. I was pleased with the experience, and I would highly recommend Chuck and Mattress Firm Dalton. Mattress Firm has sent me several emails requesting that I rate them on their site, so they seem to be interested in customer satisfaction and repeat business. read more

As consumers, we all patronize what amounts to hundreds, if not thousands, of retail stores every year; most of us will go into several shops each day. We don't give much thought to the majority of our casual shopping experiences as they are usually not noteworthy, and sadly, when they ARE noteworthy, it's not often due to a positive experience. It is rare that you go into a retail store and have an extraordinarily PLEASANT experience. As such, I feel obliged to take the time to comment on what an extraordinarily pleasant experience I DID have recently at the Mattress Firm. My friend had recommended this store but I decided to visit several other stores in the area on the way there. I found the 3 other places I went to to be small and without much of a selection. One store I went in had a lady working that couldn't be bothered to look up from her phone and she let me walk around the place for almost 5 minutes before even acknowledging me (and I was the only other person in there!), then when she did acknowledge me she "answered" my questions with one or two words and went back to texting. Finally I ended up going to the place I SHOULD have gone first- The Mattress Firm on Shugart in Dalton. The store itself was bright, clean, and inviting. They have a great selection there with many good values- I found a variety of high quality mattresses at very reasonable prices- so much so that I had a hard time making up my mind. The manager, Chuck, was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. I really had no idea where to even begin with picking out a mattress, but he took lots of time to explain the differences among them all, and he even suggested I spend a good bit time lying on each one. Never at any point did he seem agitated with my indecisiveness or make me feel rushed. I may be more picky about beds than most people, I don't know, but my mattress is very important to me as I often have trouble sleeping due to chronic back pain, and I can't exactly afford to just go buy another mattress if I end up picking out one that doesn't end up working for me. That being said, this purchase was a BIG DEAL to me and it took a lot of lengthy consideration. No matter though! The manager took the time to listen to my specific needs, make recommendations based on those needs, then, with good humor, he kindly put up with all of my initial rejections, listened to exactly what I liked & didn't like about each one, and he was able to recommend several others based on my reactions to first few. Finally, he was able to match me to my perfect bed and I have never slept better! I cannot tell you how grateful I am for the considerate service and knowledgeable staff. I will definitely be back to this location and I recommend it wholeheartedly to all of my friends and family. If sleeping well is important to you, Mattress Firm on Shugart is where you need to go.
