Previously I bought I bought one of Mattress Firm's most expensive adjustable bed sets and while the process was okay, it was not super as far as customer service goes. Certainly a follow up call asking how I liked the bed and how was the delivery service, for which I spent extra, would have been good customer service/relations. But there was no follow up. Yesterday I wanted to purchase another bed set and so returned to Mattress Firm in Harwich. There were two sales staff, one seemingly getting to the end of the purchase process with a customer, the other sales person wrapping an item in plastic. I don't expect sales staff to drop what they are doing and attend to me immediately. I do expect an acknowledgment of my presence, and then telling me if I care to wait, they will be with me shortly. All that was needed was to say hello to me, tell me that they would be with me in a few minutes, instead of leaving me waiting and waiting and waiting , wondering how long it would be before I could have help. Surely that would have taken less than 30 seconds and is the polite thing to do. It is a great pity that such poor manners and lack of good salespersonship is evident especially during a time when businesses are suffering from a lack of clientele. All it would have taken to keep me as a customer was some respect and basic good manners. Now I will go elsewhere for my bed purchases read more

Four years ago, we purchased a mattress at the East Harwich location of Mattress Firm. We had a great experience with Michael who was working there at the time. We since returned to the store to purchase a new mattress and were assisted by another gentleman, since Michael was no longer there. First impression: the store (including the mattresses) was dirty. In addition, we were not provided disposable pillow covers to use while trying out the various mattresses. The sales associate did not present a professional image: baggy jeans, unkempt long hair, etc. He also didn't seem very knowledgeable about the details of the mattresses we were looking at, and as a result was of little help. We left without making a decision, and frankly couldn't wait to get out of there. Several days later we visited Mattress Firm in Orleans, where, to our delight, we found Michael working the floor! He guided us through the store, offering suggestions based on our comfort preferences. We left with two pillows, two seat cushions, and a mattress on the way. DON'T GO TO THE EAST HARWICH LOCATION. GO TO ORLEANS AND TALK TO MICHAEL!! read more

I went in to the East Harwich store on 4/9 and was greeted by a very nice sales man. He was well dressed and very polite. He took the time to talk to me, listen and showed me all the options. I never felt like he was pressuring me to spend money or upsell me. It was nice to not feel pressured into buying something as many places do. We were down the Cape for the weekend, and stopped in sleepy's Harwich to look at a bed for the mother in law. We were met by Mark Lapaglia, who was very friendly, approachable, and extremely knowledgeable! We spent quite a while there and found the perfect set for her... And then Mark helped us out showing us other sets for us (we told him our set was 20 yrs old).... His knowledge was unbelievable. We ended up buying a hybrid model that he recommended and we loved. And the prices were phenomenal! If it wasn't for his easy going friendly style, I'm not sure that we would have stayed and bought the second set. No one likes a pushy salesman (like when buying a car) and mr. Lapaglia was far from that! He was genuine, and even suggested that we think about it over the weekend if we weren't sure. Up until recently, I had been sleeping on the same mattress for over 7 years and had been constantly waking up with back pain. I did some research online and found it to be rather overwhelming so I decided to go check out Mattress Firm. When I walked in the door I was immediately greeted and assisted by Michael. He walked me through all of the mattress options, which included having me lay on a number of them so I could get a good feel for what I liked. Michael was a true professional and did a fantastic job of explaining the differences in all of the mattress options. He took the time to answer all of my questions and helped guide me into purchasing the right mattress for me.
