They let me know by just talking from the back of the couch where they were sitting. No one got up to talk to us, no one greeted us. Another employee let us know the other types of fabric based on the velvet I was looking at. I walked to the back and as we were checking out the floor model, to the right of us there were two more employees. One on the iPad (or tablet) the other on the cash register. Neither came up to help. I asked for some help and the woman at the register seemed to have been irritated by me bothering her. she came over and I asked what type of color a specific fabric was and the response from the woman was *sigh* "we have over 200 types of fabrics" and proceeded to find the tag with the name. I said thank you and apologies for inconveniencing your time and left. This is the worst customer service I've ever received. This is why I have and will continue to order online only.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit (couldn't check in due to app problems) while hitting up my favorite eatery. I was hoping to gain inspiration, and find creative ways and ideas for dealing with all the stuff I own. I came prepared ready to purchase, armed with measurements, and my own tape measurement. Hubby was along for the ride, reluctantly, but was to be my voice of expertise as I'm the planner and project manager but he has to ultimately execute my ideas. There were a few projects in my home I wanted to tackle and fully expected to leave with a several purchases. However I left empty handed. While the store is nice and large and does have an assortment of storage ideas for every item imaginable it lacked creativity. I didn't find inspiration or any ideas that I haven't already thought of myself. All I discovered were tons of people (and hard to social distance in some isles) and rows and rows of overpriced plastic goods. The custom closet department especially was crowded and the floor displays had price tags that matched buying a used car. I see no reason to come here vs Ikea, which has similar displays and custom services, and the same particleboard quality. Makes me wonder do Container Store customers have no idea that Dollar Tree and Dollar Generals exist? Even Walmart, Target, and any big box retailer sells pretty much the same plastic bins at a fraction of the cost. I still can't get over their prices. I expected to be wowed, but left disappointed. One thing I do know, it's not even a challenge to replicate their storage solutions by visiting a dollar store. It's elementary!

He seems to do very high quality restoration work on the antique fans, lamps, and phones that he sells. The front room is like a museum. Lots of old things that work like new. A pretty 1905 lamp. A 1911 brass and cast iron desk fan that blows a lot more air than a modern fan. Piles of old switches and wall outlets. Hanging from the ceiling are some very nice looking ceiling fans from the early 1900's. The back room is the restoration shop. Chestertown Electric did a very meticulous job rewiring an old lamp that I had been afraid to use. They installed a solid brass socket that looks and feels much better than the original one that my cat broke off. It's a block off the main shopping area of High and Cross streets. The store is open at odd times. Friday evening and Saturday midday. If it's closed, ring the door bell.

My dad had purchased a mattress at GoToMattress and was very satisfied so, even though the entire 'mattress online' situation seemed a little suspect to me, I took a look at their site. The savings were UNMATCHED and they had some tools in place to help me determine what 'mattress A' actually equated to in their line up. I ended up getting a slight upgrade from the mattress of my choice as they did not have my selection available. They delivered it to my apartment in NYC and removed my old garbage mattress. I am SO happy still, 3-4 years later, with my wonderful mattress. An excellent, affordable, quality purchase.
