I've gone here twice and purchased an item once. I enjoyed several things: 1. They told me if they have something I'm looking for or not right away. 2. The sales people weren't pushy. 3. With the epidemic, the wait for furniture items is much longer than normal and there can be delays. They made a very good estimate of when the furniture items would be made available. They had regular email updates regarding whether the item was in or not (doesn't sound like a big deal, but much better than other places where you have to keep track of when they say it, "might be in," and then continuously call to see if it came, only to be told there is another delay). 4. The item I purchased, a small kitchen tablet set, came on time and was of good quality for the price. The only thing slightly annoying was that some of the reps didn't have their masks on covering their face (They might want to look into this because I'm guessing a lot of people don't care, but a good segment of customers will just turn around and leave if they see this - we were looking for an accent cabinet that they didn't have, if they had it but the rep wasn't wearing their mask, we would have left rather than work with that person). read more

I was in desperate need of a bed since I was unable to take my last one with me after moving to the city. All the fly hunnies be like "when you getting a bed? Doing it on the kitchen floor is getting uncomfortable." Mark Geezy likes crushing pink cookies like everyday so he had to do something quick. Purchasing a bed from here was absolutely stress free. I told them I wasn't looking to spend over a certain amount, and they made it happen. The best part being I actually like my bed. I opted to have it delivered on a Tuesday after walking into the store on Sunday. They didn't take more than 10 minutes to move it inside and set it up for me. I totally recommend them over those grubby used car salesmen-esque hacks at Sleepy's. They came off completely desperate for a sale and try their damnedest to make sure you don't leave without at least making a deposit on their crappy beds. I haven't had this great of customer service in a very long while. I always admire an HONEST opinion, be it about food or other products being sold. Kip, I believe is the store manager, was AMAZING. When we walked in, he allowed us to peruse the beds, without pressuring us in any way. After like ten minutes or so, he came over and was extremely helpful with his line of questions regarding preferences. Luckily, we had already researched the Tempur-pedics so he informed us on the differences between models, gave us his answer, as well as the canned Tempur answer, provided us with feedback he's gotten from other customers. Had we not been helped by this self-proclaimed 'bed nerd' a few weeks ago, a sale on a Deluxe Tempur-pedic would not have been made that day. Thank you sooo much, Kip!! Fantastic experience, world-class service, and affordable products. Frankly speaking, this was one of the best retail experiences I've ever had. I was helped by Kip, the area manager. He takes his job very seriously. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind, friendly, and intelligent. He is very good at conveying the salient points without being too salesman-like. He never pushed to make a sale. Rather, he wanted only to educate me, so that I could make the decision that would best suit my needs. What I needed was a bed urgently for incoming guests. Kip listened to what I wanted, closed the sale when I was comfortable, and arranged for delivery within 2 days. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The store is clean, spacious, well lit, and there's ample parking outside. I am going to recommend Kip and his store to all my friends. I give him my highest recommendation. The reviews of this place are no lie. When I moved to Chicago and was looking for a mattress, I stopped by here and I am really glad that I did. Kip, the manager, has the best customer service that I have ever received. When I told him what I was looking for in a mattress, he explained very thoroughly the different types of mattresses they carried in the store and also went into detail about the mechanics (he told me he can get even nerdier when explaining mattresses) behind each brand and what I could expect. And the best part is that Kip never pushed to make a quick sale and was very patient and friendly throughout the whole time. Incredible customer service! I highly recommend this place! I was looking to replace my queen sized Beauty Rest mattress with something that was exactly the same. I have lower back issues so, I needed something extra firm but, comfortable. I had always bought mattresses from department stores so, I was a little reluctant to try this place at first...but, I found a Groupon for $200 dollars off so, I figured why not? I went to this store on a Saturday evening. As I entered, I noticed the closing time was 6 pm. I checked my watch, 6:05 pm. I said "oh no! are you all closed?" as there were only a few people inside. One salesmen hesitantly said, well, we close at 6... Another immediately chimed in and said "Hi I'm Kyle, How can I help you?" I was very surprised and impressed! At that moment, I knew I would be making a purchase here. Kyle was very kind and knowledgeable. He patiently listened to my needs regarding my back and pointed out the mattresses he thought would be best for me. I never felt pressured or rushed even though I'm sure he was ready to leave. He explained the pros and cons of each style and let me test it out each one. Fortunately, I was able to find a mattress I loved (and my back did too). Back to Bed delivered THE NEXT DAY! On a SUNDAY! Wow! Who does that? I was expecting to wait several days even weeks for delivery. The delivery men were timely, professional and respectful. They even put on shoe covers before entering my apartment! The delivery was free and they even hauled away my old mattress set. My wife and I were ready to buy a bed, but figured it would be a long process in looking at a few places and a thousand different beds. We had no idea it would be less than an hour and we would be sitting down signing the papers at our first store! We had done the comparisons online and when we saw the discounts and then got the treatment we did here, it was a no-brainer! We were greeted immediately by Quami, who was extremely helpful and led us to narrow down the best selection of beds for our needs. He didnt ever push me to one that may be more beneficial for him as a sales rep, but gave us all pros and cons and comparisons among the many beds to choose from. Then, as we moved along and couldn't really decide, Kip helped out and echoed everything Quami had been telling us AND MORE...MUCH MORE! It was SO helpful to have 2 people who knew everything about mattresses and what is best for your situation. I would go back EVERY TIME to have this experience and really appreciated all their knowledge, patience, and professionalism - which, believe me, you are NOT going to find at every store. And for the final point, I would like to tell you, they close at 6 and we were still laying around and figuring out which one to buy and they didn't ever mention the time...and stayed about 45 minutes late to help us finalize...that is CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I think mattress shopping can be one of the most stressful experiences...ever. You are making a (potentially) very expensive purchase, it's something that you need to love because you will use it every day, and you don't want to leave the store feeling like you just got hosed. We went to several big box stores, in addition to matress-specific stores, before visiting Back to Bed, upon recommendation of a friend. The environment in and of itself is different as the sales people are not on you like white on rice the second you walk in the door. (This is a PLUS!) Secondly, the employees know their stuff. Kip, the manager, helped us out and was great. He listened to what we had to say, was honest with us, and made the shopping experience about as pleasant and fun as mattress shopping can be. We ended up purchasing the mattress on a Saturday night, and we got the mattress delivered on Saturday. Talk about immeadiate gratifcation! Delivery was flawless and swift. I walked into Back to Bed with an urgent need to buy a mattress, but a fairly limited price range that I could reasonably consider. Kip encouraged me to try out all of the mattresses, and gave me a lot of information on the relative merits of the mattresses within my price range. I felt very comfortable in the sales interaction - Kip convinced me to consider a more expensive model than I'd originally planned, but then found coupons to help bring it right into my price range with a cover and delivery included. I Firmly believe that Mattress FIRM! Is a great place to buy a mattress. The manager was quite pleasant, didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff I wasn't looking for. I came in to see a specific Purple mattress, they had it in the sales room, I laid down on it and sunk into it like a rock in a pond, actually I didn't because I was trying the firm version, I used that comparison to make this more interesting to read. At any rate, the price in the store is the same as buying it online except that they have it in stock and it delivers the next day rather than the next month. Also, 0% financing, why the hell not? So ditch that IKEA mattress that is ruining your life and sign your self up to have a giant tofu slab delivered to your house the next day. It's actually like buying a tofu slab that has springs underneath and a purple waffle on top. read more

I recently went to this location with my boyfriend because of the 2 reviews on this page. I was really impressed with the store as a whole, from the sales down to the delivery. My boyfriend needed a new bed and this place was nearby, literally 5 minutes away. Although there are only 2 reviews on this page, both were very thorough and provided a lot of insight as to how our experience would be. The salesman did not coerce us at all and waited for us to look around first. He then provided some advice as to which bed he thought would fit my boyfriend's needs best. The delivery men were amazing as well. Since my boyfriend couldn't make it back to accept the delivery on time, I accepted it for him. When I pulled up, the delivery men were already sitting outside waiting. I'm usually not very fond of furniture delivery guys because of my own personal experiences - they were usually rude and just wanted to get out ASAP. These delivery guys were extremely pleasant and even though they were ready to set up, they told me to let them know when I was ready for them to bring the bed in. The salesman even followed up with a call to ensure that our delivery was made on time and that the delivery men were pleasant. Great company, I'd definitely buy from there myself should the need arise, and recommend to friends. read more

My husband and I went in looking for a new bed, we are bad sleepers and were considering getting a themperpedic. Kip, said they were great but strange and asked about our sleep issues etc. He recommended trying out several different things, some much less expensive then the themperpedic and he gave us TONS of information about mattresses and sleeping. We felt like we really knew what we were looking at after talking to him. He could have been an easy sell of his most expensive mattress but he really wanted us to be happy. The mattress we ended up with was a pricer model but it was completely our choice and we didn't feel pressure at all! One day I woke up and decided I wanted a new mattress. I went down to B2B with pretty much my entire family, and we bought me a mattress. Glad I went there. There was no sales pressure. The manager Kip was friendly and helpful, and didn't try to upsell me at all, and even recommended a cheaper mattress based on my sleeping style. In the end I went with one of the premium mattresses - Beautyrest Black - ooooh! It's nice. I honestly think that I wouldn't have purchased the fancy mattress if there had been any sales pressure. I just walked in and bought a mattress. You're probably better off if you know the price points on comparable products, know what promotions the competition is offering etc. This place is alright! read more

You know you have reached a certain stage in life when you find yourself Yelping about your experience in a mattress store, eh? I am fortunate enough to find myself in this exact situation and even more fortunate that I can spread the goodwill. Kip, as several before me have already attested to, was the perfect person to assist my partner and I in our quest for the perfect sleeping mat. We came in not totally sold on Tempur-pedics primarily because of the chemical factor, (look it up if you're intrigued), and we left with the perfect amount of information not to mention expert delivery from Kip to make our decision. He was attentive but not creepily so and discreetly multi-tasked with multiple customers. We came in on a rainy Sunday afternoon so it was slow but walk-ins picked up gradually and I was impressed with Kip's ability to smoothly handle each walk-in while maintaining a connection with us that never felt intrusive. He threw in 2 of those fancy Pedic-pillows at no extra cost (they each run about $100) and free shipping/delivery helped lessen the strain on my bank account! He also asked if we needed our old mattress to be removed which was a nice surprise so that will be taken care of as well. I can Yelp about the delivery experience after tomorrow but I already have a strong feeling that my 5 stars for the South Loop Back to Bed location shall remain the same! read more

In my mattress research I read that Americans view mattress salesman as second sleaziest to used car sales. Well..Kip at Back to Bed turs this notion on its head. He is very professional. I'm kinda shocked he's working at a mattress store. The guy should be working in an investment bank or something...wait that's actually probably more sleazy than mattress sales! ;) Anyway. The customer service here can't be beat!! I was looking for a queen mattress that is as comfortable as supportive. I was willing to spend money because I am a bad sleeper and I would need a great mattress. I initially purchased a tempurpedic, which I was very excited about because I heard so many great things about it. I knew within three nights that bed would not work for me. I wanted to make sure, because did not want to deal with returning the mattress, and waited six weeks. At that point I went back to Back To Bed to figure out what else to do. After many conversations and lots of back and forth, I decided on another bed. Back to Bed organized returning the tempurpedic and sending the other mattress quickly and easily. Delivery and set up were a breeze. I am now sleeping on a fabulous new mattress and within a week love it! Let me just say that whatever your price point is (low to high), and whatever kind of bed you want (memory foam, latex or standard coil), this store has it for you. I went into Back to Bed for the Memorial Day weekend sale and the guys there seriously hooked me up! I (of course) fell in love with the insanely expensive Tempur-Pedic right off the bat. Walked into the store expecting it to be another run of the mill, expensive, stuffy mattress shop. While it carries many high-end items, I felt quite comfortable and started testing out some beds while the sales associate finished with his current customers. And then we met Kip and our mattress-buying experience changed altogether. I'm not sure if there's a PhD in mattresses, but if there's one I'm sure Kip has it. To say he was quite knowledgeable of the products would be an understatement. I've been thru a few bed purchases in the past so wasn't ignorant to what I needed to look for and I started to quiz away about some important features. I felt as if Kip not only was trying to understand our needs, but actually cared that we got the right bed. He took his time, never feeling pressured by new customers coming in the door and exhibited a remarkable amount of patience towards my indecisiveness. Since this was the first mattress store we stopped in, we told him we needed to due diligence and check out some other places. He not only welcomed the idea, he suggested some that we should go to. And then he made the request that we come back and speak with him before we made our final decision. After 3 stores we made our way back to Kip. We were prepared to play hardball and get a good deal, but that was totally unnecessary. He cut to the chase quickly and offered us the best deal he could, which surpassed my expectations. He even threw in a couple of extras to sweeten the deal. It's been 2 months and I still LOVE my bed. Kip is like a mattress matchmaker. On a Saturday morning, I left Back to Bed and called my mom to inform her of the big-girl purchase I just made all by myself, and led with "I just had the best time buying a mattress!" Seriously! It was Memorial Day Weekend, and that means you have to buy a mattress, right? I had been waking up a little achy, which either means I am getting old or need a new mattress. I refuse to believe the former, so I took a walk to Back to Bed. I got there pretty much right after they opened, which was lucky because I got to work with all the employees. Darren helped me find exactly what I wanted (a firm bed with a pillow top...I was afraid it didn't exist!), Earl hooked me up with a great deal (and I caught him singing along with the radio to "Quit Playing Games with my Heart"...which was AWESOME), and Kip was an absolute blast to talk to (believe all the reviews you read about him, he's the man). Just when I thought the service couldn't get any better, three nice men delivered and set up my new bed in less than 24 hours (on a Sunday!!). I've been sleeping like the dead ever since. GREAT customer service!! I just have to get that out of the way so anyone seeing this will read it and know. Back to Bed has a friendly and knowledgeable staff that are there to get you a good night's rest - not just sell you some mattress and get you out. I went in with my fiancé over the July 4th weekend to check out the big sales. We've been in need of a nice mattress for some time and we thought a holiday weekend sale would be a great time to check some out. When we got to Back to Bed, we were immediately and cheerfully greeted by one of the staff, Kip. I have to say this guy made our mattress shopping experience a lot more entertaining. Lying around on beds may seem like a luxurious task but it can get boring and annoying pretty fast. He explained to us the differences, pros and cons, usefulness and ability of each and every mattress on the floor, and then left us to lay about and test them. Every time we had a question or concern, he was able to help. (He also was happy to give us some great restaurant recommendations as we're still new to the city) We ended up not being able to get a mattress right away as the one we ended up wanting was just a tad out of our price range. That is more on us than Back to Bed - their prices and sales were great. We just need to save more!!
