Under no circumstances let them talk you into buying a warranty. Even to file a claim it costs $85 to have someone come out, or you can do it yourself for free--and receive an auto-email reply that your claim is rejected without a valid reason. Mattress I bought is pretty good. The frame, though was delivered bent. In hindsight, should have gone across the street to PC Richards to at least shop around. Anyway, decent enough help to buy the mattress. No help at all for after-sale support. And decent price. I got a friends and family price--NEVER PAY FULL PRICE. Purchased a mattress that became defective and was approved for the exchange. I chose a memory foam 12" curve. The first didn't rise to 12", only 9" then the second also had the same issue. The third I asked for it to be opened at the store and it rose to about 11", after one week of waiting for it to ride. I was not given a refund and forced to choose to stay with mattress firm. Despite their defective products , they don't refund your money. Those that are thinking of purchasing from this company, think twice. Buy online if you can as Amazon will grant refunds. Me and my husband came in asking what can be done about a sagging mattress we did online warranty etc. Quickly escalated to how much me and my husband weight combined because we should have purchased a extra firm bed. We came here to try out some new mattresses for our new apartment. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by at least two employees, but Charlie was the one who helped us. He took the time to understand what we needed and educate us on our options. Adjustable bases were completely new to us but he patiently explained all of our options as well as the current promotions they had running. We probably weren't the easiest customers he had, but he stuck with us through all our Qs and back and forths, and we now have a delivery date set that was way sooner than we even expected! I would give it zero stars. I went to the store on a Monday and was forced to place an order with these morons on the premise that I would be able to cancel at anytime before the mattress would be delivered. I canceled the very next day and the associate called Marc said that he would cancel the order right away. Then, two days later, parts of my order started coming in wihout my knowledge. I called the store and Sarah picked up, starting talking about my last name (why?) and said I would have to drop off the pillows. I went in and dropped off the pillows and then got a call from her saying I would get two more orders and she could not close the ticket without getting those two returns as well. I mean, talk about nightmare and associates talking about your last name. Do your job and stop talking about the last names of customers you serve. read more

Buying a frame and foundation for a mattress the bf already had was really easy and fast. The associate there, Joshua, explained the difference between a full and a Queen, King and California King, and taught us that Alaskan King sized beds exist... But why would anyone need that much space? The world may never know. I honestly thought buying a bed meant you just look at it, feel it, and you're good to go. But there's so much more to it. Joshua & the manager (I think he was the manager?) kindly answered any questions we had about which frame worked for certain floors (so you don't ruin your carpet or whatever) and which foundation is strong enough to hold a heavy mattress. (Thanks for all the help guys!) They made delivery super easy too. The other guys that deliver do set up your frames/bed. But I just built it myself. It wasn't that hard after I figured out what piece goes where. I totally recommend this place if your bed looks like a bunch of potatoe sacks glued together or if your frame looks like it's made out of toothpicks and fragile souls. Ugh. Buying anything at Sleepy's has to be the biggest hassle ever. My Ikea bed frame had broken, so I needed a new bed frame immediately. Going into the store, I knew I wanted the most basic, metal frame available, with no box spring (all this was also due to my fear of bed bugs, which are everywhere in Queens). The store was empty, and I told them exactly what I needed. They made me look through an entire book of bed frames that all needed box springs. "Sorry, I just want a plain metal frame." This went back and forth for AWHILE, but considering I had no place to sleep, these people were my only option. Finally they gave up and confirmed my order... at the very end they drop the price on you. Just overall, not a nice or happy experience! But I am giving them two stars for the delivery guys being good and the quality of the product being great. read more

I don't usually judge by what negative people usually write coz they are always negative and I have seen those.Very typical so and so.Cut it off. I stepped in & it was quite , suddenly a salesperson in black suit stepped forward, after that everything changed. I worked with Sal at the Woodside location Mattress Firm and must say he not only was helpful but should be recognized for outstanding customer service. My initial purchase was a problem from the start with delivery issues, on top of that after I received it I ended up requesting an exchange. It was against store policy but as a courtesy he was able to accommodate my request and help me out. Sal made me feel like a priority AFTER the sale - something many companies fail to do with customers. He made what could easily have been a bad experience into one that I felt compelled to share how positive it was. My husband and I decided that it's time to swap out our IKEA Sultan for an upgrade. A serious upgrade. It was perfect timing because it was Labor Day weekend and unless you have been living on an isolated island, you would have noticed all of the Labor day sale commercials from Sleepys. They advertised half off on all mattresses (except Tempurpedics and Serta iComfort) with free box spring and free delivery. Sounds like a great deal! So we headed to this location near our apartment and I must say that the first impression was not so impressive. Not sure if all Sleepys look like this but everything looks kind of dated. It wasn't exactly a pretty showroom and the lighting was a bit on the dimmer side. Some of the floor samples even looked questionable (bed bug alert!). Buying a legit mattress is probably one of the most critical investments you will make in your life so you would think they would try to make the store look a little prettier. There were only two sales assistants working on Sunday, which is crazy considering they announced such a huge sale advertisement. But we had an awesome salesperson named Naomi (I think that's her name) and I think she's also the store manager. She walked us through the nuts and bolts of buying a mattress ( comfort vs brand) and the different technologies that are infused into various types of mattresses. We knew what size we wanted but it was just a matter of comfort. The problem is my husband and I have different perspectives on the level of comfort. I'm more of back/side sleeper and he's a stomach sleeper. We practically tested almost every floor sample and about an hour later, we ended up picking the Tempurpedic (that's what I meant by serious upgrade earlier). Unfortunately, Tempurpedic mattresses never go on sale. So much for Labor Day savings. But Naomi (and our awesome negotiating skills) did a great job in trying to get us discounts and freebies on other things like the headboard, the mattress cover, the bed frame, and extra pillows. She even added a free service to have the delivery guys dispose the old mattress for us. The next day, the mattress came in and the delivery guys did an a quick and amazing job installing everything. All the orders came in as described and I can't thank Naomi enough for giving us the deal. We have a 90 day trial period for the Tempurpedic so I'm hoping nothing goes wrong with it. read more

In the day an age of buy everything online, mattresses sure are a tricky one to do this way, especially if you are looking to ease pain on an injured back. More importantly, my partner and I visited on a Sunday and were able to try out a number of beds, taking our time, getting 5-10 minutes of a nap on different suggested mattresses and our sales-person and manager, Sal, was the perfect amount of friendly, knowledgable, and hands-off when it came to decision making. He made helpful suggestions but didn't make us feel bad when sticking to a lower budget item. Additionally, we noticed a day later that there was a deal we had missed with respect to shipping, and he made sure that we were refunded in the appropriate amount. Tonight we will be sleeping well on our new mattress and while we hope it lasts us quite a while, I can recommend that Sal is the person to ask for and this is a worthwhile mattress store to visit. read more

This place is awesome. They ask u all the necessary questions. You know do u have any pains, do u snore, etc to figure out whats the right mattress for you. What was even better is when they picked up on our personalities (my fiance and i) and started talking to us as if were buds bc we like to talk to ppl who arent so stiff. They heard our concerns and what we wanted. They looked for the best mattress for us and at the best price we could have gotten (looked up sales for us). We mentioned how we are getting married in November and so we would like to not spend so much this time around. I loved how thoughtful they were in hearing us out and doing all they could do for us. They made us feel like more than just another client and thats what stores lack now a days so it was nice to come in here and feel that again. I recently purchased a new Beauty Rest queen mattress set at Sleepy's on Queens Blvd in Sunnyside. It was a bitterly cold night and as it turns out the perfect night to buy a mattress. Noemi Davila, the manager, was extremely helpful. She was not doing a hard sell - she didn't have to. She wanted me to find the mattress that was the most comfortable. I tried out a half dozen beds and went back to the original one I had my heart set on. She was very patient and answered all my questions. She even checked the web to see if there was a better price for my mattress set from a competitor and she found it and met that price. I added my Yelp code and got another 10% off. I had just missed by a day the free shipping promotion and Noemi called her district manager, Ian Green, and he approved the request for free shipping on my purchase and then I bought myself a new mattress and box spring! The delivery went off without a hitch. Juan and his helper couldn't have been more professional. They were timely and efficient in their delivery of my mattress, box spring and frame. They even put my bedbug covers onto my new mattress and box spring! I love my new bed and am sleeping peacefully for the first time in years. I think Noemi is a gem in Sunnyside! She takes immense pride in her job and it shows. She knows her product line inside and out. Buying something here is not recommended. They are not honorable salespeople and they make up the rules as they go. If you have any trouble with what they sell you are on your own.
