I have purchased a number of items at PC Richards and over the years, went to a few different stores, but I will never go to any other store but College Point and I will always use Gregory to assist me with my purchases. He knows his stuff; he is a great sales person who does everything he can to make your experience the best possible. He always gives every one the best possible service. It is such a lovely store, spacious, clean and well lit. Plenty of stock to look at, all clean and displayed for easy viewing, The variety is excellent no matter what it is you are looking for and at what price point. After a terrible first attempt at delivery yesterday, today's redelivery went quite smoothly. Unfortunately I was met with two men with a million excuses : the pipes need a different valve for install, that they can't remove fridge doors, the fridge won't fit thru doors, requested cash to move it a few feet,and that the fridge is damaged and can't be delivered. They were two East European men, rough accents, limited English, and spoke to me in a condescending manner maybe because I am a woman.To Pc Richard management: you can identify them at this number since they refused to provide their names +1 (929) 900-1002. I also reported them to customer service. I recommend customers to not allow delivery men to stall your delivery and installations with their excuses like what was done to me. All PC Richard deliveries have free surveys done by someone who takes measurements and provides all the information to the delivery men so they are very well aware of what to expect. In this case these two really did not wish to do the work.PERIOD. Delivery will be successful when you have professional hardworking individuals like I had today. Thank you Alejandro and his team for moving the old fridge and installing the new one all within 20 minutes( and I live in a 4 story walk up, typical NY) ! Don't buy anything from them. All they are concerned about is making a sale. The employees aren't even knowledgeable on the things they sell. They encourage you to buy a refrigerator with water/ice maker and say PC Richards handles installation. At no time do they ask if you have a line already or if your refrigerator is next to your sink. And then when you complain the manager, Ray says he is going to make good and refund $197 for installation and inconvenience. That never happens and when you complain to BBB the best the company does is refund $100. Besides the fact that less then a year ago, I had purchased a refrigerator that within a few months stopped working and I was within warranty and I had purchased a 2 year warranty. They said I can come out and look at the refrigerator 5 days from my call. Who can go 5 days without a refrigerator when you have a family and a toddler. NO ONE. So I hired Fixed it Pro and they came out and it cost me $370 to get it fixed. Only for 2 months later the same thing to happend. Then Fix It Pro comes back out and says there is a defect with this refrigerator and if I pulled out the plug and defrosted it every two weeks and cleaned up the water, it will work. What are we in the 1990's!!! Absolutely not. Instead I go to PC Richards and buy a brand new refrigerator and sales rep encourages me to buy with ice/water and says PC Richards does installation. Only to find out they cannot do it because my refrigerator is not next to my sink. And I took a day off of work and had to wait for pc richards from 8 to 12 for first guy and then they promised to have someone install it and that timeframe was 3 to 6 pm. Only for someone to show up at 6:30 pm to say it is not possible since I didnt have a line their already. All questions, the sales rep should have asked me before selling me a refrigerator with ice/water. And all they are offering me is $100 back. Shame on them. I will buy my goods now at Best Buy. I encourage anyone else that doesn't want to go through the same issues to buy with Best Buy. read more

We had really high hopes for this neighborhood appliance store. We dealt with Fausto in Spanish and English so I don't know where there was miscommunication. We were supposed to receive an LG fridge and a washer/dryer on a Wednesday. No phone call, no confirmation and no appliances. Of course arrangements need to be made to greet the delivery person, so what a waste of our time! We call the store on Thursday and the manager, Pedro, listens and apologizes. He promises delivery of all items on Friday. And yes, they do arrive but the dryer is damaged! No problem, says Pedro, a new one will be delivered tomorrow! Come Saturday morning, the new dryer arrives and what a surprise, it is also DAMAGED! Pedro arranges a 3rd delivery and offers a $100 discount for our "inconvenience". Well 2 months later, no refund at all. As if $100 would cover 2 days off work we spent awaiting delivery! What a shame they will never have our business again!! read more

They convinced us to buy a more affordable TCL tv instead of the well known brands. The sales associate told us it works just as well but the screen clarity will be slightly different. Well the issue is the sound on this TCL TV is horrible and I feel completely ripped off. I thought they were honest but in the end they sold us a piece of crap. We can't watch movies or tv shows without sound issues and echos. Do yourself a big favor and avoid this store at all costs or follow your instinct. Buy the brand you are familiar with. TLDR: PC Richard & Sons is an OK place to buy air conditioners. Do your own research, and be aware that deliveries / installations may run late. We've bought two in-wall air conditioners from PC Richard & Sons over the past few years, and found the experience both times overall to be OK. PC Richard both times had the in-wall air conditioners we wanted. Do the research yourself on the models available at PC Richard's on their website, and look for those models in-store, because some store salespeople otherwise may try to upsell you on higher-end models that you may not need. The upselling seemed particularly insincere at PC Richard's Francis Lewis Boulevard location, but polite and tolerable at this location. Our salesman here helpfully informed us that taking the air conditioner home ourselves would avoid a $50 delivery fee. The installation team was late both times -- somewhat understandable because each installation have may different variables and complexities. Be aware that you may need to set aside extra time to wait for the team to arrive and do its work. That said, PC Richard's processes for delivery / installation tracking could use some rethinking. In our most recent install, we were given a four-hour window for the installation team to arrive. The installation team missed this window, without any notification. A call to PC Richard resulted only in a shift of the window by two hours. The two-man installation team ultimately arrived approximately 25 minutes after the initial four-hour window expired. Instead of call 30 minutes before their arrival, the team called approximately 5 minutes prior to their arrival. PC Richard did send an email with a link to track the physical location of the installation team -- but sent it after the four-hour window had expired. However, the current physical location of the installation team seems of little value. More useful would be tools that count down for customers their position on the installation team's work queue, and that update the estimated number of hours until the installation team reaches them. The installation team was professional and efficient when they arrived, both times. Total install time for our most recent purchase was approximately 30 minutes from the time the team arrived, to the time they left. They removed the old air conditioner and sleeve and took both away with them, installed a new sleeve and the new air conditioner, and weather-sealed the installation. read more

I WENT BACK to Maria Lynn and she guided me to a WEMO smart plug. Literally saved me HUNDREDS of dollars on suggesting the smart plug rather than getting a smart AC unit. Even the young man who took my tv to the car was friendly and careful. Let me say that I always buy my large electronics and appliances from PC Richards. Their salesmen are usually very helpful and not pushy. They always have a wide range of what I am looking for and in a good range of prices. Their delivery is quick and you can usually negotiate to get it for free. In addition, when I call their service center, they know right away who I am and what I've purchased (going back for years!) and whether it's still under a warranty or a service plan. I will never come back here again. I don't know if the shipping ware house or the people working here but I've been waiting for a delivery for 5 hours now. It's 1 hour passed the latest delivery window and it's still not here. They were obviously very eager to help me when it came to dropping 600$ in 5 minutes but when it comes to giving a damn about your time waiting for delivery they do t care.
