When I walked in with an ankle boot and cane from an injury, the associate met me in front and asked a few questions about my needs and budget. She walked me directly to three mattress sets which were all perfect. After laying back on each one and making my selection, she made the purchase transaction go smoothly and we set a delivery date. From other comments, I wonder if the local mattress companies hire third parties for delivery but mine went smoothly. They brought it in the house, set it up an took away the packing materials. That bed was for my furnished apt set up for traveling professionals. My tenant said it was the best night's sleep he'd had in a long time. Affordable and easy. We recently tried swapping out our mattress under warranty that fell well within the warranty. After a few weeks of back and forth and constantly being told that it was still good to swap out we finally got the paperwork to initiate the order. In addition to this we were working to get the correct Pillow we had recently purchased due to a shipping error that delivered the wrong size. With the pillow we were told that we couldn't come into the store to switch it out, it had to be done via delivery and that they suggested it be done when they came to swap out the mattress. This paired with getting the mattress swapped out has continued to be a seemingly needless inconvenience. After weeks of calling to get these items scheduled for delivery, we were met with constant excuses on why it couldn't be don't yet. Lots of promised "we'll call you back later today to figure this out" but never did. After weeks of me having to call a few times a week we finally got the mattress scheduled to be delivered. Upon the delivery, no pillow, which was explicitly explained repeatedly that it needed to be delivered via truck by the manager. Yet no pillow to be seen and now another headache of having to repeatedly call and figure out getting that fixed and replaced. read more

I haven't got my new queen mattress . I was supposed to get it from delivery three times in the row. First , I was told that I will have the mattress arrive on Saturday twice . The truck didn't arrived. I stayed home all day. I went to the store to see what's going on. I got reschedule of the delivery. The delivery truck refused drop it off at my porch. I told the guy at the store that we wanted it to delivery at the porch. I got to reschedule it again. I was told that I need to write the note on the paper with my signature. I post it on the door. The delivery guy took the note off from the door then left. They refused have it delivery due to not match my signature. I am having a hard time why they saw my signature on the note and it's posted on the door?! I canceled the order and decided to find other one since I have no bed for a week! We purchased 3 beds at the Wards Rd. store in Lynchburg, VA on 10-29-2021. We worked with the store manager, Trevor. He was very helpful, patient as my husband tried out several beds, and knowledgeable about the beds his store carries. We feel we got very reasonable prices for the Serta queen, Serta full, and base level twin bed we purchased. We have been promised delivery and set-up and have a Dec. delivery date scheduled. We are hopeful the delivery and set-up will be as smooth as the purchase was. Another review will follow when we reach delivery/set-up. read more

This company truly cannot deliver. We ordered a king size mattress and platform bed at the end of June. The day of delivery, they called to say they were delivering the mattress but the bed we had ordered was back-ordered. We have been sleeping with this mattress on the floor ever since! Second attempt at delivery, over a month later, get a call DAY OF DELIVERY AGAIN, that they AGAIN didn't have the bed in stock. Then get a follow up call to come in to select an upgraded bed. I was then promised that the bed would be delivered the following Wednesday. We discussed in detail that I was getting the chocolate leather platform bed. Yesterday, as the delivery guy opens the package he says "you did want white, right?" Seriously, how is this company staying in business? I called and talked to the sales associate yesterday. He said he would talk to his boss and sort it out. Haven't heard a peep since. If you want what you pay for, go somewhere else ..... or expect to sleep on the floor. We purchased an expensive king size mattress. We noticed within a year that it started to sink in one area. When someone came out they determined that the box spring was faulty. Unfortunately, the damage was done and the mattress has a permanent dent. Not only did they refuse to replace it they also wanted to charge us hundreds of dollars in shipping to replace the faulty box spring. When we asked to speak to a manager each time the manager was not available and we never received a call back. We'll never do business with them again...spend your money elsewhere. read more

I would give this a zero if I could. Trevor, the store manager does not return calls or keep to his commitments. He talked me out of returning a mattress since the delivery guys didn't have the proper sized legs. Said he would get us extensions and deliver them the next week. It's now five weeks and no extensions. Never apologizes, never returns calls. Tonight I called him and he said he ordered them from the manufacturer with no idea of delivery. I told him I was going to call the corporate office and complain and he said: "fine, here is the number...and good, I'll cancel the order and get my money back as I paid myself for these"...really? We spent nearly $4,000 with three mattresses and an adjustable base and this is how they treat us. Stay away. read more

I wrote a review about this business back in September, 13th 2016. Do not buy a mattress from here.. After writing a bad review on yelp, I got a message back from the company to please contact them regarding my review. I sent them a detailed message and all the issues that we have had and how unhappy we are with this mattress. I NEVER heard back from them, which came as no surprise to me. The staff at this mattress warehouse was unprofessional and extremely unaccommodating. I went in an hour before the store closed and tried to buy a mattress but they would not put my order in since they already submitted the orders for the day. They made no effort to work with me and the manager especially acted as if we were imposing upon them just by being there and asking questions. There were about 5 of them working in a totally empty store and all but the one who helped us did not bother themselves to even look up and greet us when we came in. Terrible service. If you are going to buy a mattress in Lynchburg, choose Mattress Warehouse! You will not find better prices or people. I called multiple stores on Saturday and asked if they could deliver a mattress on or by Tuesday. Mattress Warehouse is the only store that said yes. The salesman actually said, "Absolutely." In 30 minutes, they found me a fabulous mattress and cut me an unbelievable deal. I actually got a flat tire driving to the store, and - while I was paying for the mattress - the salesmen went and changed the tire for me. Mattress Warehouse is my new go-to mattress store. We are so happy with our new beds! My husband and I recently stopped by while we were in town for our daughters sporting event. We had planned to purchase a king bed from a local store in our MD Area. After meeting Trevor and sharing our plans, he offered us a much lower price and suggested we call our local place to give them an opportunity to match his price. They were not able too. I am extremely disappointed with this company! I went in against my better judgement just to look and we were promised all kinds of things including satisfaction guaranteed. I paid top dollar for a mattress because of the customer satisfaction. After one week our foam mattress started to sag in the middle. I called the store and they didn't want to hear it and referred me to the website to file a claim. I went through all the hoops required and had a man come to my house at 8:00 pm at night to evaluate the bed. After 2 weeks I received an email telling me the bed was defective and I had to go back to the store to get another one. When I arrived at the store it was obvious I was bothering the salesman and he didn't want to help me. I picked out another mattress and was told I had to pay $99 for delivery fee on a mattress that was defective. I recommend that you stay away from that store and spend less at Sam's. Corporate sent me a reply to send them my info and they would contact me. I did that and no response!!!! Typical! read more

I was recommended to go there by a co-worker. Went to the one on wards rd. I was greeted by Blake. I was on a mission from God! I had something particular in mind and a shoestring budget. I told Blake what was going on and he knew the perfect mattress for me to get. He asked about age for person and being that she is tiny, went straight to one. Believe me...I pounced on all of them. He bent over backwards to help out financially. He even knew where mattress toppers and bedding was on sale! I mean ...who keeps up w/that ... He does! With his guidance and knowledge and professionalism ... I was able to get a very comfy mattress for a very special and brave little girl ... I was able to get her a new bedding comfort set and curtains too...her mother got a gallon of paint and we were able to give her a 'mini room make over'! Now everyone can sleep a little better at night! On a personal note to Blake .... YOU helped make the 'monster' go away! You have no idea what this has done for this little girl and her family, for her to be able to sleep in her own room again on a bed that is not tainted with grief & misery & nightmares. Run, don't walk AWAY from this store!!! I placed a custom order, which I know takes time, but this has become ridiculous. I was told the mattress would be delivered in two weeks, then in 4 to 6 more weeks because the manufacturer was behind. Now it has been 11 weeks and the delivery was promised for today, but when I called it is still not going to happen - they are now saying next Saturday. No one ever calls when when the delivery date comes to say we won't be able to do this. I have to call them to see why I haven't heard anything. They will not give refunds for custom orders, so I have no product and I'm out the money that I spent. Who knows when or if I will get either. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Actually, I can not even give mattress warehouse a rating of one star. I have had nothing but problems from the first day. I told the salesperson I could not have a mattress where there would be indentions in the bed. I have had three different mattress, and they have all did exactly that. Why the salesperson would suggest that type of bed, when he knew I would have nothing but problems with it, is beyond me. You go back to the place where you bought the mattress, and they tell you that you will have to deal with corporate office, which is one of the most asinine requests ever. Corporate office is so arrogant, and I believe, are trained to make sure you receive nothing from them. They are a night mare to try and deal with, and most of the time just hang up on you. Right now, I am over $1400 into the mattress which I cannot sleep on, and they tell me there is nothing there can or will do. Please I cannot stress enough, do not do business with this company, because there will be problems, and they will not do a thing to resolve it. My husband and I purchased a king matress and twin foundation valued over $3,000 from your Lynchburg,  VA store on Wards Road from Steve. We also got two of the cooling pillows and the coolong matress pad to cover the warranty.  The matress pad wasn't in the store so we were told to come in on Wednesday to pick it up. My husband went, it had not been delivered yet, so we rescheduled our delivery for February 23rd.  We were told to come back Saturday and the cover would be there; we went in and it was not there. So, we asked to reschedule delivery yet again, the manager was like why?? We explained to the manager without the cover and we get a nosebleed or something,  the warranty would be void. He said,"oh yeah, I wasn't thinking", so he gave us an allergy matress cover and said to bring it back when the other one came in. He said it will be here Wednesday and he would  personally call us, which he never did. When we bought the matress we specifically asked about the delivery team and if they would wear shoe covers and be careful and were ensured they would. We have a son with allergy induced asthma, so we have to be careful about tracking in outside elements. Furthermore, we were told they would call between 7 and 9 that morning to give a 3 hour window for delivery, the morning came and went with no call. So, at 11:40 my husband called the store and they called the delivery guys and gave us a window of 1 to 4, which was fine, but I had been stuck at home all morning waiting. When they came, I told them that the old matress and foundation were on the second floor,the guy pushed by me without asking, wearing his wet shoes and proceeded to track up the steps and onto my carpet, also looking around my home for the right room without asking if it was okay. They were apparently running behind and in a hurry; with that said they beat and banged unlike anything I have ever seen. The term "bull in a china shop" is an understatement. I am enclosing pictures of the damage. The old matress got stuck on the way down the stairs and the guy forced it while flakes from the ceiling fell onto the hardwood stairs, the newly painted risers on my stairs are scuffed, there is a hunk out of one of the steps and a giant scratch on my bedroom wall. One also banged into the bedroom door and made an indentation with the lock into the wall. The other thing is that I had the door to our office closed for privacy due to paperwork,  they opened that door without asking. Now I am not an unreasonabe person, the scuffs should hopefully come up with a magic eraser; not trying to be over the top, but they did scuff them up. I was in tears when they left and immediately called the store. Steve was working, and gave me the corporate number and should have told the manager.  I called the number and the lady said she would send paperwork, which I still have not received and it has been nine days. The manager never called about the matress cover we wanted either. So we went in this past Saturday and told him everything we had been dealing with and also reminded him that he had promised to call us himself, three days earlier, but he didn't.  He also had not been told about the damage to our home. We then asked him for a refund and pick up the matresses, as we do not feel that we have been treated in the respectful manner your customers should be treated. He then said that was above his pay grade and he was submitting a request to corporate who should call within 72 hours. I have called several times and left messages, and haven't heard a word. The manager said "I am initiating and recommending a full refund due to what you have been through. I see no reason why you should have any issues getting it". These were his words exactly. Well they are refusing a refund and want to give a 10% refund due to legal restrictions. Also if the damagepapers are not filed within 30 days, you are out of luck.
