It's too bad that Yelp does not allow 0 star reviews. The punchline is that Kevin opened a credit card for 12-month 0% financing without my authorization when I expressly and directly told him that I would not allow any credit inquiries before we closed on our home. Notwithstanding my express instruction, Kevin opened a credit card in my name without my authorization. The credit card is now on my credit report even though we did not end up purchasing a mattress from Mattress Warehouse. As they say: buyer beware. For those curious, here is the longer story: My fiance and I walked into Mattress Warehouse looking for a king size mattress for our first home. Kevin was available and helped us. The experience started out positive with Kevin very attentive and clearly trying to appease us to get the sale. He was patient and listened to our needs - he even went so far as to compliment what a great match my fiance and I seemed to be for each other. Typical sales tactics. Kevin advised us that there was 0% 12-month financing available without any mention of a required credit card. Kevin also advised that the store was running a special that would take $400 off the price of a mattress. We spent a couple of hours trying different mattresses and eventually settled on a Tempur Pedic option. We sat down to finalize the sale. Once we made it clear that we were going to make a purchase, we saw a different side of Kevin. Now that we were ready to buy the mattress, all of a sudden the $400 discount only applied to pillows and accessories - not the price of the mattress. Moreover, Kevin "accidentally" overcharged us for the mattress cover that we decided to add. Once we pointed this out, he corrected it explaining that it was a mistake. Kevin then put a credit card application in front of me without explaining what it was. Once I read it and realized what it was, I asked him why I needed a credit card application. He explained that the credit card was required to obtain the 12-month interest free financing. At this point, we were less than a week from closing on our house, and I explained that I would not authorize any credit inquiries before we closed on our house. Kevin said that was fine, and we could put down a deposit and complete the application and purchase after we closed on our home. A week later, I got an alert on my credit report that a new credit card had been opened in my name . . . on the date that we visited mattress warehouse. I called the main line to get a refund for the deposit and let them know that the store opened a credit card - not only without my authorization, but in contravention of the express direction I had given. The main office contacted the store, and Kevin's associate had the audacity to call us and offer an additional free pillow if we still wanted to go through with the sale. The associate explained that Kevin opened the card "accidentally" - which sounded familiar given his previous overcharge of the mattress cover. Needless to say, we rejected that offer. Be very cautious if you decide to do business with this store because we found Kevin, who is the manager, to be misleading multiple times. We are now dealing with the headache of trying to remove the unauthorized credit card from my credit report. read more

Wife and I bought our mattress from David sometime last year. Got a TempurPedic mattress and adjustable base as well. Wife insisted we get a king size bed, and rip out a bedroom closet to make room for it. Cooling mattress protector, and a few cooling pillows. Long story short - this is the best nights sleep I've ever gotten in my life. I look forward to coming home from vacations just so I can sleep in my own bed again. We were treated with professionalism, were given an accurate time for delivery, and we were not disappointed. If you go here, see David and make sure you take the sleep test. read more

Very difficult to get ahold of customer service; does not offer refund on awful mattresses. Comfort exchange program is much less than satisfactory. My company needed to furnish an apartment for our employees working in the area. I searched online and came across this MW. The reviews I read on google were good, so I took a chance. I entered the store and Crystal immediately gave me a warm and cheerful welcome. She asked how she could help. I told her exactly what I was looking for and the price range. She showed me several options within the price range, and without trying to oversell me. I really appreciated that. I did purchase beds, box springs and frames at a great price. I ended up buying mattress protectors at a cost much higher than I could have gotten at Target, but what I saved with Crystal and her non-presure, help justify making that additional purchase. I recommend this location and working with Crystal. read more

Y'all I hate to rain on all your 5 star reviews, but this place was not it for me. I bought a mattress from here in July of 2014. The thing started to sag so bad that I was having terrible back pain. I had to schedule some silly appointment for someone to come measure the bed (an appointment I had to take off work for). The measurements revealed that the mattress was shit as I already told them and their only help was to offer me an exchange or get the same bed again. **Keep in mind, I had to pay for delivery of the new mattress** I took my chances, paid more, and now I'm having the same problems again with a new (more expensive one that the machine tested me for). Their corporate customer service was so bad the first time around, that I don't even want to deal with this again and I just keep moving the bed around to try to make it work. Lesson learned- don't buy from mattress store likes this. Their prices are much higher than regular department stores and the hassle isn't worth it. Ps- what you feel when you test beds in the store is not what you get at home. Be warned. read more

We dropped 3 and a half thousand dollars on a Temper-pedic when Kevin told us that we could do a comfort exchange if we wern't 100% satified. What he failed to mentioned (some would think maliciously) is that you need to wait 30 days for that exchange. When my wife couldn't sleep after 2 days of trying, the ever helpful and chirpy pre sale Kevin turned into a 5th grade bully hanging the phone up on us and refusing to pick up when called back. The only two people who were of any help on this (continuing) nightmare of a journey that we've had so far have been Favi and Kally from HQ. The rest (Kevin, Amir, Mario) are incompetent at best. Having the 'early' comfort exchange approved by Favi, a redelivery was ordered. However the order was made on the wrong day by Amir. We requested a saturday delivery and they sent me an email on Wednesday night for a Thursday delivery - when no one will be home. Non the less when the saturday came around they cancelled the delivery with out notice 'due to the wind'. Today is the following saturday and having recieved a delivery confirmation last night, having spoken to Favi, the falls church store (we don't deal with Kevin anymore) and the delivery driver (an hour ago), i've just been told that the delivery will not take place today either. This is the third time they have screwed up. Let me say just say this is the last place you should be going to to buy anything - let alone a $3.5K matress. Hopefully the company doesn't read this and sabotage my order all together. Never again. read more

Adrian- is the mattress man!!! This guy was the most pleasant guy I've met in a long time!! Super easy to talk to, funny, asked great questions making my wife & I really think about comfort specifics. Based on our feedback he'd have us try different mattresses. When I asked for a 'harder' mattress he said sure right this way- but based on your comments you're not going to like it. After laying a few minutes he was totally right! Adrian knows his product very well. After discussions & choices we made a decision. Not only did we get a great mattress, but an amazing price. Just do yourself a favor and go here. We worked with David. He stayed in our budget and offered us a great deal. We left and talked about how helpful he was and that he really cared about making this work for us. We went back and went up on our budget since this was such an important purchase. He met that budget (even less by a few bucks). It was a great experience and I would recommend this store. As for selection you get what you pay for. This is not somewhere to find cheap mattresses but they are not outrageous either. We looked at another store and they had similar mattresses for at least $500 more. read more

Mattress Warehouse in Pentagon City was the first mattress store we visited. My husband and I weren't sure what we needed, just knew it had to be King size. Adrian was fantastic. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about all the products. We narrowed down our choices and decided to think about it and shop around. We went to Sleepys nearby. Right away, we felt pressured by the salesman. I had to repeat 3-4 times we were not ready to purchase that day. We left that place and my husband says, "I much rather give the commission to the other guy!" A few days later we went back to Adrian. Again, he was very friendly, so NOT the salesman-y type, and he gave us our space as we decided on what to get. He was patient with us. He was very efficient with the process and went above and beyond even when we had to get upgraded to the Cali King. I'm all about customer service. Go see Adrian! My fiancé and I came in a week ago and right off the bat got great service and a great deal on our King Size Serta. The salesmen Andrew was friendly and personable. What I liked most is that he didn't push us in one direction or another. He let us pick something we liked and gave us the whole day to think about it and upon our return we ended up picking the Serta instead. It arrives tomorrow and I will surely post a picture. Went in on Black Friday in desperate need of a new mattress. Adrian was there and asked the right questions to help me narrow down my search. I didn't do the bed match because I don't think a machine can find a match for you it's all about your preference. He recommended his choice and I believe it's a good choice for me. He wasn't pushy or an aggressive sales guy. He let you try different beds but not too many he said because then they will start to feel all the same. Like the 2 Star Rating states....should have been better!. The selection is this small store location is just that SMALL. The service was pretty friendly...Kevin had a good knowledge about the product that was on the floor, he even admitted that the selection at this location was limited. We made a decision, chose a delivery date and was told I would get an e-mail the evening before my delivery date (by 9pm) with a 3 hour delivery time window... guess what??? Didn't happen, instead, I get a phone call from David at 8:45 pm telling me that they somehow screwed up and my mattress was not on the delivery schedule for the next day! To say I wasn't happy would be an understatement considering that I purposely made no plans/commitments for that day since I had no idea what my 3 hour window would be... a total lost day!!!! Bottom line, I had to wait an additional four days for my delivery and another lost day to wait for the delivery. When I asked why the first delivery date wasn't met, Kevin tells me he forgot to fax over the proper paperwork that is necessary for the delivery people to place the mattress on the schedule... NICE!!!! Mattress Warehouse should have refunded me the $99.00 that I paid for the delivery service since it cost me more that that for the day I lost .... Poor Customer Service!!!! read more

I bought a mattress here. The shopping experience was very nice and the salesman was friendly, and at the end of the day I love my mattress. Still, as soon as I agreed to buy the mattress I found the helpfulness disappeared. It took 45 minutes to finalize all the paperwork, and my address was still incorrect on the form. Delivery showed up more than 90 minutes after my three hour window ended. The delivery did not include the special brackets you need to install the headboard - which the salesman never mentioned I would need. When I called to ask about it, they offered to order them for me for 20 bucks for me to pick them up. After spending thousands on a new bed, with the salesman never mentioning this base requires a specific bracket, the delivery nightmare, and now having to install the brackets myself, it just left a bad taste in my mouth. I was left with the impression that they want your money but really don't care about the rest of the customer experience. read more
