Buying a mattress is never fun. We started and ended our shopping at Mattress Warehouse. We told Steve what we were looking for and he had some ideas and used a computer simulator to show what we needed. He had several options for us and also had pillow and frame recommendations. He let us know of any sales and that if the price drops within a year they'd match it. The only hiccup we had was the mattress was out of stock for our initial delivery day but we didn't have to wait that Iong for it to be rescheduled. The delivery team was prompt and quick. Overall everything is great with the mattress and our experience. The jury is still out on the pillow recommendation. read more

We were in the left turn lane waiting at the light to go to mattress firm. From the corner of our eyes, we saw mattress warehouse to the right. My husband and I decided to give them a try first. We are 100% happy we did. Thomas and the general manager Rob worked with us to find the best mattress that suited our needs. They displayed excellent customer service and knowledge of the industry. They made the experience enjoyable AND affordable for us. They're not your typical salesmen with industry cliches and pushy tactics. Please go give them a chance before settling for mattress firm or any other mattress retailer ..We're so glad we decided on that whim to turn right, instead of left. read more

Our experience at MW started off nicely. We stopped in to look at mattresses within the first few days of the store opening. After taking our bed match test, and laying on some different models we eventually decided on a Kingsdown* with an adjustable base. We loved it at the store. Our first nights sleep on it couldn't come soon enough! They tell us it will be delivered on the following Tuesday. MW does not remove the old bed, so my husband took our old bed and threw it out on Monday night. After a night on the blow up mattress we were thrilled to finally have a new bed. This is were things START to get ugly. The base was back ordered. The best that could be done was to bring the mattress on Thursday and the base on Saturday. We agreed. Wednesday night we get a call from the store from someone wanting to schedule our delivery. The Thursday/Saturday thing was never scheduled. Now the best they can do is Tuesday. We should have shut the whole thing down right then and there but we were desperate, and after weighing the choices, we agreed. Eight nights of air mattress sleeping later, the bed shows up. We were excited, although we didn't sleep as well as we had expected. In fact, 2 weeks into that new bed and I sleep worse each night that the previous. I want to go back to the air mattress. The bed is a nightmare. Where you would sit down on the bed to get into the bed there is a hollow ridge that runs horizontally from one side to the other. You sit down and sink to the bottom. The sides of the bed fall down, making you feel like you are going to fall off the bed. The middle has a huge hump after said hollow trough. We took measurements and pictures and my husband took them into the store and talked to the newly appointed manager, Gilda. She was very nice and assured him that they could help us. We were initially informed that the policy is to wait 20 days before you can start the process of returning a bed, to ensure that you give it and yourself time to get used to it. Gilda said they would wave that and get things in motion right away and that she would be in touch with the DM. We follow up by returning to the store to pick out a different mattress, so that this expedited exchange could go off without a hitch. Gilda said they would send out an adjuster at the beginning of this week to look at our bed. After not hearing back from her my husband visited the store yet again yesterday evening. Gilda was not in. Now we are dealing with Thomas. Thomas informs my husband that the waiting period is not 20, but 30 days to start to issue an exchange and continues to ask what we don't like about the bed, "is it too soft, too firm...". Completely missing the issue. It is not a preference issue. If the bed was uniform there would be no issues. Some places are firm and some are hollow. As it turns out, according to Thomas, Gilda had done no leg work on our issue that he could find evidence of. We are waiting to hear back from a claim my husband submitted via email to the beds warranty department. This bed was thousands of dollars, and we haven't slept well in weeks. I know this is an excruciatingly long review, but it has been a truly horrible experience and I don't want others to have to go through this. It is true that the bed issues are not MATTRESS WAREHOUSE'S fault, the incompetence on behalf of the staff at the Washington, PA location could have been avoided. Salespeople at this location are friendly and very helpful. Not pushy like some salespeople can be. Had a wonderful experience and will definitely buy from them again. I wish I could say that my wife and I had an experience that was as pleasant as the previous review, but weeks without sleep tend to dampen ones enthusiasm. The shopping experience at Mattress Warehouse started off very well. Our salesman, Andy was very nice and professional. Andy took us through Mattress Warehouses, Sleep to Live "bed match" process. Upon completion; we were matched with two Tempur-Pedic models and a Kingsdown (River Oaks). We loved the Tempur-Pedic models, but were impressed with the Kingsdown and were even more impressed with the price. Andy and the District Manager (who was visiting at the time) assured us of Kingsdown's quality and exclusivity. They spoke of how Kingsdown thoroughly tests their mattresses to ensure a superior product. We were convinced that this bed was a "cut above the rest". Our visit was on a Saturday and we were scheduled a Tuesday delivery. There was a delivery up-charge for removal, so I removed our bed the night before to have everything ready for delivery. A truly pleasant experience thus far. My wife and I spent that Monday on a blow-up mattress and our couch respectively and were very excited to get our new bed the next day, but alas, this was not to be. The adjustable base that we opted for was on back order. After calling the store, we arranged a delivery schedule where we get the bed delivered on Thursday and the adjustable base on Saturday. We agreed, hey, that arrangement sure beats sleeping on a blowup mattress. Wednesday night we get a call from the store wanting to schedule our delivery. Apparently, Roger, who took our call on Tuesday never scheduled the delivery and now it was too late to get either a Thursday or Saturday delivery. We were compensated $150 for our troubles and we reluctantly agreed. Our "spidey senses" were tingling, and should have backed out of the deal ,but hindsight being what it is.... After eight nights of the couch and air mattress, we receive the bed. The delivery guys were quick and courteous. We were very excited to finally sleep on our new mattress! When I got home from work; I tried the mattress out. "This can't be", I said to myself. There is a ridge in the middle of the mattress running from top to bottom and between the middle and the edge on both sides, the bed sinks far further than a bed of this quality should, certainly not the bed we tested in the store. I must be crazy! I must be being too particular. Maybe the bed needs broken in. I kept my opinion to myself, as I didn't want to sway my wife's opinion. I wanted her objective thoughts after a good nights sleep. The next day I asked how she slept; TERRIBLY! I decided to give it another night. Maybe we just need to adjust to it. Night 2, just as awful. This bed is defective, without question. I called the store an informed them of our issues. At that time the salesman informed us that they have a 20 day waiting period on returns. I can understand that policy, people are particular and don't adjust to change very well. I went to bed that night disappointed that I had to sleep in this defective bed for more than two weeks. The next morning, I wake up in pain. I went to the store and spoke to the new manager, Gilda. She was very helpful and empathetic to our plight. Gilda said they would try to speed up the process given the circumstances of this not being a preference issue that would fall under Mattress Warehouses "comfort exchange" policy, that this was clearly a defective bed. She called the District Manager, and followed up with me that night, saying we would get a call early next week to arrange things. We follow up by returning to the store to pick out a different mattress, so we could expedite the process. After not hearing back the next week I went the store on Tuesday. Gilda was not in, so I dealt with Thomas. He informs me that the "comfort exchange" policy is 30 days not 20. Apparently, no one moved on our problem from the previous week and no one is sympathetic to our plight. Either get an adjuster out to honor the warranty or wait the now 30 days. Thomas initiated the warranty claims process and we have yet to hear from anyone. We are now 16 days into this defective bed and have heard nothing.
