Delivery arrived, a regular driver and a trainee. Trainee was attentive spotting a problem when the trainer was yanking on the plastic cover on the old mattress that was wrapped around a sprinkler head. Again when they were removing the old mattress, the trainer almost took out a glass light cover. The trainee quickly moved the mattress avoiding an accident. Suggest maybe checking one of the other stores when deciding on a new mattress. Or at least hauling the product yourself.

We told him what we were looking for & what type of bed we didn't really like. From the knowledge we learned at the first store, we knew we wanted a spring mattress not memory foam. So he had us lay on his most popular one. It was a bit out of our price range so he had us try something similar for a lower price & also another one at an even lower price. He also suggested we try the hybrid which is foam on he top layer, spring on bottom. We liked that as well. We narrowed it down to the hybrid & middle price point spring, but in the end chose the spring. We were told that the king size would have to be ordered & that it would take 2 weeks. Delivery was free, unlike the first place we visited. JC was great, he wasn't pushy & we didn't feel pressured to buy it. We got a call in just 1.5 weeks that it was ready. They communicated well the night before the timeframe they'd be coming & when they were about 10 minutes. A very quick easy drop off. Last night was our first night with the bed, & ohhhh it's so nice. Our dog sleeps in our bed & we all have space now without feeling cramped. We had a great nights sleep. Kaitlyn was very helpful throughout the process and was so patient with me as I contacted her numerous times for an update on our order. I was nervous about how it would all turn out given our fabric choice, but it was just as wonderful as my client's imagined. Buyer beware! Ordered a Biltwell sectional through a Portland retailer. Castellano in Portland…read moremakes Biltwell. The craftsmanship was very poor quality. Wavy piping around all back cushions. I returned the cushions to be redone. When I picked them up they looked exactly the same. One of the cushions had a snag in the fabric which they fixed but the stitching along the seams was so poor it caused the fabric to pucker. They stated there was nothing else they could do for me. Fortunately the retailer took back the sectional and returned my money.

No problem, Dan will find out and get back to you. Saw a piece of furniture you loved? We did, so we sent Dan a picture and he came up with an almost exact match for us. Probably even more important is how he takes care of customers after the sale. We had a problem with a piece of furniture we bought, (a manufacturing issue, not Dan's fault) and he made sure everything got taken care of to our satisfaction, which ended up meaning getting us a replacement for the damaged piece. The other reason we are loyal customers is that Sellwood Furniture always has realistic, fair prices. I hate going to big box furniture stores and seeing the "Huge Sale" that never actually ends and everything is "50%" off on a rotating schedule! That just means they were willing to charge me twice what that piece of furniture should cost if I came last weekend. I hate games and I never have to play them at Sellwood Furniture. I am sure Sellwood Furniture has sales on items to move them or that they can get good deals on but every day isn't a "Huge Sale" there. Prices are usually better than we find most places and I don't feel like I need to negotiate like I'm buying a new car. He gives me the price, I decide if I want it. Done! I know I may sound like a paid advertisement, but honestly, I'm just a satisfied customer. Fair prices and good customer service are a hard combination to find these days. When I find someone I like doing business with I stick with them. I was bummed out when Dan moved his business from Sellwood to Salmon Creek, but it should say a lot that I will drive from where I live in Oregon to his new location in Washington to continue to buy from him and support his business.
