This review is long overdue, but what I experienced with Mueller's Furniture--the owner,…read moremanagement, and sales associates--was unacceptable, unprofessional, and manipulative in their effort to make a sale. My experience began while working with Kimberly. We met in person at least three times over several weeks while I was shopping for a dining table. During each visit I clearly explained that I needed a table that could seat 10 people. I planned to purchase 8 matching chairs and use 2 additional chairs I already owned when we had larger family gatherings. When we finalized the purchase, I spent $9,584.07 on the table and chairs. When the table was delivered, we had not yet hosted a large gathering, so we had not used the butterfly leaf extension. During our first large family gathering, we installed the butterfly leaf to expand the table and quickly discovered the table could not even fit the 8 chairs purchased with it, let alone the additional two chairs we intended to use. In fact, the table they sold me realistically only fits 6 chairs, which means it never could have met the requirement I clearly communicated multiple times that I needed seating for 10 people. After the event, I went back to Mueller's and spoke with a manager. They sent a technician to my home to see if the table legs could be widened to allow the chairs to fit. When the technician arrived, he did not even know why he had been sent. After I explained the situation, he immediately said it would not be possible to widen the table legs and did not even need to inspect the table to confirm that. At that point, it felt like management was simply trying to dismiss the issue rather than address the problem they created. After waiting several weeks without any follow-up from the company, I returned to Mueller's again and spoke with Viviana Mueller. She contacted the table manufacturer, Hermes, and told me the only option would be to replace the tabletop for an additional $2,000, while reusing the original legs. She also said we could keep the old tabletop. When I asked what I should do with it, she casually said I could "just throw it away." Considering how expensive the table was, that response was both shocking and wasteful. As we reviewed the dimensions of the replacement tabletop, I quickly realized it still would not seat 10 people. At that point it became clear that they were trying to sell me yet another product that would not meet the needs I clearly communicated from the beginning. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, they were attempting to make another sale. I later wrote a letter to CEO Mark Mueller explaining my experience. He called me and stated that their company policy says returns or refunds after delivery are "at the discretion of management." He then told me that his decision was not to work with me, provide a refund, or offer any credit. Throughout this entire process I felt dismissed and ignored after the sale was completed, despite the fact that the issue resulted from their salesperson selling me a table that did not meet the requirements I repeatedly communicated. Based on my experience, this felt very similar to a bait-and-switch style sales tactic. Mueller's often highlights their history and their roots with "Honest John" Mueller and their commitment to community values. Unfortunately, my experience reflected the opposite. Once the sale was made, there was no accountability or effort to correct the situation. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage others to carefully consider shopping elsewhere when purchasing furniture.

We first met Dave our salesman, while browsing and thought we found the right sectional within a short time of looking and sitting on multiple pieces. Dave suggested that we could have a designer come to our home and help us by creating a 3-dimensional layout of our great room to be certain that the sofa would fit properly as well as help with other decorative insights. Danielle came to our home within a few days, measured everything, knew all about this sofa, answered all of our questions and concerns, told us about their incredible protection plan and discussed prices for each sectional option. We followed up with her a few days later when she showed us multiple angles of our room with a 3-D created version of how the sofa would look with our current room furniture. There was never any pressure to buy it. We did some additional shopping online at "high end" nationally recognized furniture stores and in some local furniture stores to see if any other better options were available to us as well as cost comparing and then, were totally convinced that the sectional at Carol House was the best choice for ALL the right reasons. We also met the store manager, Chris, who answered additional questions we had. He was so nice too. A follow-up review will be written once they deliver our custom sectional in 10 weeks. Stay tuned. Thank you for such a wonderful experience, Danielle and Carol House Furniture! We will HIGHLY RECOMMEND you to our friends! Ray and Lori Davis Town and Country, Missouri

Well I have nothing but time to tell the world just how half/ass your customer service is. Might want to hire fifth graders- they might be able to get it right. I know they could have walked my check to my house in three months time. Hell I could have walked to get it in that period of time - as it appears you just can't get it RIGHT. We were needing a pull-out sofa for one of the rooms and didnt want anything too large. He showed us a feel options, and we settled on a leather sofa. They are certainly busy and he had to step away a few times to finish paperwork with his other customers but we weren't in a rush and didn't mind. Our sofa was delivered a few days later, delivery was seamless. The doorframe to the room it was being placed in was causing it to not fit, but they removed it and quickly put it back in. Pretty good service - if they had more stock options for sofa beds to look at, I would have preferred it BUT I am happy with our choice!

Somehow that never registered or she was just plain daft because she treated us as though she was doing us a favor by spending time helping us select about $5k worth of furniture. Here are a few tips for success that may help them in the future: 1. Don't tell the us that another customer left because of the amount of time you were spending with us. The store wasn't that busy and someone else could have helped us if it was your "up" and you were busy. 2. When the customer asks which other stores in the area are comparable don't state that nobody else is in the same category - it is transparently disingenuous. 3. Don't point out that your store is about to close when I begin asking about mechanics of purchasing, ie. incentives for accepting store financing, delivery timeline, etc. 4. You probably shouldn't ask the customers to restore displays to their original condition after checking how they operate. We went to Bassett the next day and ordered everything that we were discussing at EA. We also had such a great experience that we decided to pursue refurnishing the living room too. Sorry EA - you blew it!
