Food was available for purchase and I got a roasted corn that I was forced to split with the kid. The corn wasn't that sweet but still sufficed. I didn't get to look at the plants or any of the nursery items but I will def head back there when in the area when it's time to start planting.

I hope that I am not bombarded with emails, since you are forced to supply an email address. The grounds are beautiful. You can walk among some hops. There were also two food trucks, and a bar. I wasn't hungry, but the menus did sound great! There was a live band that was pretty good, and plenty of seating. The admission charge was $5. The market ran from 5-9 pm. I signed up for a tarot card reading, but alas it was VERY popular. It was a 3-card reading for $25. Readings took about 10-15 minutes. Unfortunately, by the time that I wanted to leave (before it got dark), he was still on the first page. So I crossed out my name. There were some very fun tables, with jewelry, perfume, and crafts, also a bookstore and a tee shirt stand. The "metaphysical" bookstore was adorable, with a fun "Blind Date with a Book" selection. There were some oracle cards and a couple of decks of tarot cards. As someone who has been to many metaphysical bookstores, and owns a decent collection of books, I wouldn't say that this store qualifies. But it's fun, and the proprietor was wearing a witch hat. I think that it was appropriate for the venue. Not for serious searchers. I browsed all the booths. There was the usual selection of stone bead bracelets. These used to be $5-7, but are now $28. H'mmm. There were craft booths, and a chain bracelet/ankle bracelet/necklace that were finished as you sat. The chains (sterling, gold, or other) were very, very, very thin and quite expensive. The people running the booths were generally very friendly. There were a couple of exceptions. The perfume lady did not have prices posted, and ignored the woman next to me, who asked for the price three times before she and her daughter left without buying anything. They had picked out two fragrances each. The perfumes were beautifully packaged, but the two that I tried on sample paper seemed to lack the notes referenced on the cards. The tee shirt guy didn't greet anyone who walked in. This was my first "fall festival" experience. While the venue is beautiful, and the vendors varied, I found the available merchandise to be extremely overpriced IMO. Granted, tariffs, inflation, etc, but prices were very high for what was offered. There were also gorgeous candles and soaps. Beautiful, and would be very nice for gifts, but IMO quite expensive for what they were. Very nicely packaged, which definitely contributed to the cost. Maybe it's just me. I had a reseller license in CO, and plan to get one in NY to sell my jewelry. So I know what stones, packaging, etc, cost wholesale. To be fair, though, that was pre-tariff. Anyway, it was a pleasant hour. I'm sorry that I wasn't hungry, because the food truck offerings were probably delicious.

If you were able to get the bulbs you could take those home too, which is a nice perk since they are perennials and will come back year after year. Plenty of parking. Tickets are cash or card. They have some goodies to also purchase on your way out. Petting farm for the kiddos (I mean I squealed when I saw the cute pigs too). Live music. Food trucks. The main nursery is open, as well. Open Saturdays and Sundays only, from November 17th until December 22nd, this is one of our Long Island treasures. I've been using a fake tree for a few years now. I missed having the smell of a real Christmas tree in the house. It gives a special holiday vibe when I see it all decorated. Sure, you can buy a tree from a guy on the side of the road. Drag it to your car and zoom away. How about taking a saw out in the field, choosing your tree and sawing it down?* That's exactly what I did at Carter Christmas Tree Farm. My wife then grabbed an end and we brought it to the front to get wrapped for travel. Don't worry, they have the saws available for you. Once you bring your tree home, you'll need a stand. I had an old stand, 4 screws that tighten around the tree. The tree I purchased from Carter Christmas Tree Farm had a thicker trunk. I had to run to Ace Hardware and purchase a new stand. Carter Christmas Tree Farm sells wreathes for your front door as well as other items needed to decorate your house for Christmas.
