We paid and drove in and parked. There was no problem finding a spot. There wasn't a whole lot to see as far as the lavender growing or blooming, but we enjoyed what was available. We stopped in the market store and bought some organic lavender tea, brownies, and candy. I bought a sticker and my DIL also bought a couple of things to bring home for friends. There is seating with umbrellas which we enjoyed. It was another beautiful day in Maui. After the grandkids were finished, we went out to the large field. The adults enjoyed sitting in the grass and kiddos enjoyed rolling around in the soft grass.

I took my parents for their 44th Anniversary and we all love outdoorsy activities so I knew we'd all enjoy this! We were asked to arrive at 10:30 am for the tour and it lasted until 1-1:30 pm. Arrive with good walking shoes, SPF, light sweater and hat (it can get either a little chilly or hot from the direct sunlight), and well hydrated if possible. We were greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable tourguide, Kate from Maryland! She shared with us so many facts about the locally grown produce from herbs, vegetables, fruits, to the friendly worms, to compost and facts about the Farm and the hardworking staff! It was interactive because we got to sniff the herbs, taste the locally grown lettuce, carry a chicken (as seen in the photo with my mom), and even pick the Cherry coffee! After the 2 hour tour, the last hour takes you back to this beautiful seating area in a garden like setting for your 4 course lunch! Each course, the chef comes out and shares details of each course. First course was a Medley of Greens grown on the farm with Tangerine vinaigrette. It was a generous portion for our party of 3 and tried to eat it throughout. There was spiraled carrots and radish with julienned snap peas. Second course was Pan Seared Ono (their proteins are all locally sourced) with Mamaki Tea and Lemongrass Rice with Bok Choy, Collared Greens and Cabbage. Third course was my favorite! I'm usually a big fan of fish but the chicken was so savory and that rub was delish! It was an Organic, Cage Free Chicken with Coffee Cherry Citrus rub with Caramelized Coffee Honey Hash of Carrots, Parsnips, Rutabaga and Celery Root. The spread was a Turmeric and Parsnip puree. Last course of dessert was the O'o Freshly Brewed Coffee with Milk and Simple Syrup with a Dessert Platter of Fresh sliced Pineapple, Tangerine and Apple with Homemade Chocolate Truffles. The meal left us full and nourished! What a wonderful anniversary gift to give my parents. We truly enjoyed it and even made some new friends, both local and visiting.

Memorial Park in Kula, Maui…read more This is a beautiful small roadside park along the Kula Highway (Route 37) in the Upcountry part of Maui. Located between Mile Markers 18 and 19. We stopped here for a short while on our way out from Ulupalakua. The park was nicely maintained and clean, free from trash. We found many stray, wild chickens around, mostly at the small parking area but these chickens move everywhere... In the park is a stone arch with a pair of Chinese guardian lions (or imperial guardian lions) called Fu Foo Dogs, two larger than life bronze statues of Sun Yat Sen and his brother Sun Mei, as well as shady trees and tropical plants. There are a few picnic tables placed apart from each other around the park. No grills. Nice and peaceful. Look down to see beautiful views of Kihei, Wailea, Puu Olai, Makena, and the West Maui Mountains... so cool to see the islands of Molokini and Kahoolawe. We could tell the crescent-shaped of the island. This is an uninhabited islet, btw, located between the islands of Maui and Kahoolawe. There are no restroom facilities in this park. It was a blend of three different juices (I don't remember which exactly they were) but quite nice. They also had a nice store there with local coffee and food and produce and what not. Husband and I got some fresh pineapple and also a salad for later in the day which came in handy! Overall also a beautiful place to walk around! So peaceful and scenic with birds around too.

Our issue came with how the management handled it. The server was apologetic and then was not seen again; we were worried he got fired! Other than the initial apology, no concessions were offered, even after we discovered my husband had a bit of glass in his arm. Management never came out to address what had happened and when we asked to speak to manager, he mentioned he had heard water was spilled on a customer. You'd think he would check in on us or maybe comp something small, like the dessert we ordered. Ultimately the customer service is the reason I would not eat here again.
