O'o Farms delivered a truly, unique and interactive experience with their Farm Tour and Farm to Table Lunch. I took my parents for their 44th Anniversary and we all love outdoorsy activities so I knew we'd all enjoy this! We were asked to arrive at 10:30 am for the tour and it lasted until 1-1:30 pm. Arrive with good walking shoes, SPF, light sweater and hat (it can get either a little chilly or hot from the direct sunlight), and well hydrated if possible. We were greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable tourguide, Kate from Maryland! She shared with us so many facts about the locally grown produce from herbs, vegetables, fruits, to the friendly worms, to compost and facts about the Farm and the hardworking staff! It was interactive because we got to sniff the herbs, taste the locally grown lettuce, carry a chicken (as seen in the photo with my mom), and even pick the Cherry coffee! After the 2 hour tour, the last hour takes you back to this beautiful seating area in a garden like setting for your 4 course lunch! Each course, the chef comes out and shares details of each course. First course was a Medley of Greens grown on the farm with Tangerine vinaigrette. It was a generous portion for our party of 3 and tried to eat it throughout. There was spiraled carrots and radish with julienned snap peas. Second course was Pan Seared Ono (their proteins are all locally sourced) with Mamaki Tea and Lemongrass Rice with Bok Choy, Collared Greens and Cabbage. Third course was my favorite! I'm usually a big fan of fish but the chicken was so savory and that rub was delish! It was an Organic, Cage Free Chicken with Coffee Cherry Citrus rub with Caramelized Coffee Honey Hash of Carrots, Parsnips, Rutabaga and Celery Root. The spread was a Turmeric and Parsnip puree. Last course of dessert was the O'o Freshly Brewed Coffee with Milk and Simple Syrup with a Dessert Platter of Fresh sliced Pineapple, Tangerine and Apple with Homemade Chocolate Truffles. The meal left us full and nourished! What a wonderful anniversary gift to give my parents. We truly enjoyed it and even made some new friends, both local and visiting. read more

The best meal that I had in Maui! Everything was fresh and I loved knowing exactly where our food came from. My son enjoyed the mahi mahi tremendously, which for a kiddo who only eats chicken normally, is a huge compliment! I thought the tour was very informative and interactive as well. Our guide Molly let us pick, smell, and explore a lot of the plants they have growing on the grounds. She also very nicely picked a tangerine for my son because he really wanted one. Loved the interactive tour our guide Dove provided to our lunch group - it was informative and peppered with fun "scratch and sniff" plants to try, which is my favorite way to stay engaged i.e. smell and eat new things. A big highlight for us was the chameleon she found in a finger lime tree - very cool, I hadn't seen a chameleon in real life before! As for the lunch, the produce was nice and fresh and the presentation was beautiful. The reason this isn't 5 stars is my partner has a seafood allergy, and when I called prior to booking, they said another protein substitute like venison or something similar would be provided. The substitute ended up being a handful of tofu cubes in lieu of ono, which didn't quite feel like comparable - would have liked to see more thoughtful effort for the substitute given he paid the same $150 as everyone else. Overall we enjoyed the tour and lunch and would recommend to people who care about where their food comes from and want to learn about sustainable Hawaiian farming practices. read more

Oʻo Farm in Kula was one of the highlights of our Maui trip. The tour was fun and genuinely educational. It was the kind of experience where you're learning the whole time without it feeling like a lecture. The best part was how it ended: an amazing lunch cooked from ingredients grown right there on the farm. Everything tasted so fresh and so good. You can really tell the care that goes into the food. The location is beautiful too. After the tour and lunch, we loved hanging out at the coffee shop with the view. Such a relaxing way to take it all in. Terrible customer service and zero accommodation. Our flight to Maui was cancelled because of the big storm back in March that flooded the farm area and while all other tour companies and vendors refunded us or credited us for our next visit, this tourist trap refused even though it provided no services to us. Not only is it overpriced for a measly meal, the company definitely does not exude the "aloha" spirit; if you're not a local, be warned that they do take advantage of tourists. Would highly recommend visiting The Surfing Goat Dairy or the Maui Pineapple Tour instead; such wonderful and unique experiences! read more

Everyone we met on the tour was knowledgeable and friendly, and you get the overall vibe that everyone really enjoys the work they do at O'o Farms. The coffee was awesome and the breakfast was great- no notes at all. I do wish they sold the coffee cherry simple syrup- that stuff was delicious! The walk around the farm is easy- I would say this is a must for folks who love coffee or just learning, or eating! Though the walk is easy I wouldn't necessarily recommend this tour for children. This is an intimate tour. PROS: Great food, great tour, great views, great coffee CONS: None! BEST MEAL WE HAD IN MAUI. Upcountry farm in Kula, naturally cultivated produce with no tilling. A lot of places claim "farm-to-table" but you can't get any fresher by eating directly at the farm. Location is on pristine 8 acre land on the side of the mountain, it was beautiful and peaceful and though it was foggy and we didn't get "good views" it added to the tranquility of the experience. My oldest and I play Stardew Valley and he was so excited to see our farming fantasy in real-life. The entire tour we had no problems finding him because we knew he would be up-front near Anna, our guide, learning more about real farming. She was a FANTASTIC guide and we appreciated her sharing some of her personal history in addition to what was happening at O'O. The day starts with a walking tour of the farm where you learn why you see staff blowtorching the soil and see the bountiful crops they've so lovingly grown and maintained and other interesting facts. The highlight is a 5 course meal served outdoors, made from many of the ingredients you just learned about. They are plated in a way that's raw and wild yet not a haphazard mess with delicate touches like puree smears and sprinkling of small flowers that are part of the taste. Great fun seeing and touring their farm. A lot of the produce grown is used for their meals they serve. We attended the lunch and it was perfect in every way. First the people were welcoming and were knowledgeable about the vegetables, fruits, herbs and coffee orchards. The food was decadent and nicely prepared. Chef Kenny explained the dishes of scrumptious salads, homemade sourdough bread, and fresh pacific Ono. Large portions and fresh brewed coffee with the dessert of homemade chocolate with pineapple mint fruit salad. We didn't want the day to end. Make Rez soon because they fill up quickly. We went to their brunch tour and really enjoyed ourselves! The kids enjoyed the farm tour and got to eat some flowers and other plants straight from the earth in the tour. The talks on how they organically farm and rotate crops was inspiring. Also got to see a chameleon and try coffee berries right off the bush. The food was amazing! I've never seen my kids eat so much salad! I usually avoid gluten because it messes w my stomach and joints, but their home-made sourdough English muffins were delicious and gave me to issues! The talk about how they processed the coffee was interesting. I learned they ship them green and three different processes and that I don't like the natural process of them leaving the fruit on the seed to dry. Tasted sour! The outhouses were clean. read more

THE MEAL DOES NOT WORTH $150/person!!! The tour is borderline okay -- no harvesting or any hands on experience, just listening to the tour guide. The food was so so so so mediocre. You thought you will have some fresh veggies or proteins because you are literally in a farm, but the lettuce is NOT fresh (see edges that turned red) and the fish is stiff af (see the video). If you're skeptical about doing the coffee/brunch tour, don't be. This was easily one of my favorite experiences while we were in Maui. To start off: make sure you use the restroom before you trek out here! They only have portapotties (which they keep really clean). Tour starts off with a taste of their own roasted coffee (I think we had the yellow beans) - the hosts also provide milk and sugar if you need it. The tour guide will talk about the farm's history, what they're focusing on now, and what they hope for the farm in the future. You will be walking around the grounds so wear comfortable walking shoes! We got to learn about how coffee beans are grown (they even let you try the coffee cherries - I was blown away) and we learned so much about the endemic plants and agriculture on the island. And the best part... was the farm to table meal after!! Each 2 top got their own coffee carafe/water and courses. We had the coffee cherry honey buns, veggie frittata, and venison. The flavors are *to die for* and I'm sad I didn't get to eat at their restaurant, Pacifico. I HIGHLY recommend this off the beaten path tour! It really surprised me. read more

Great farm to table experience! Had the tour and wonderful lunch of all produce from the gardens. They also have coffee trees and coffee is served at lunch. It's very good but buying small bags at the kiosk will seem very surprising expensive as they are Estate beans. Tour was informative for 90 minutes and has up and downslope walking. Word of advice is to trust your GPS with the address; you'll think you are driving to nowhere but you're not. They need more signage as the only one is at exactly the farm driveway uphill. read more

This is my second time coming back to the farm and boy it didn't disappoint. I came to the farm in 2019 and it was great! Due to COVID, they changed the tour slightly, but it didn't diminish from the experience. I loved that we got to see how they roast their coffee on the farm. It was so cool! We also got it learn about the history of the fame, growing on the land, and how it supports the local community. It was an excellent tour. The food..... it was so good!!!! I went on the Farm-to-Table Lunch & Farmer Field tour in the beginning of December and it was an incredible experience!! Our tour guide Leomana showed us the true meaning of aloha with his gracious welcome, congenial spirit and kindness. He was an amazing guide and as a Maui native was able to share many interesting anecdotes about how Hawaiians have traditionally used many of the plants, fruits and nuts we saw on the farm. I loved that the tour was very hands-on; we got to taste, touch, and smell a wide variety of plants and Leomana did an great job making our tour interactive, asking us questions and encouraging us to ask him anything and everything! The lunch that we ate came straight from the farm and we got to enjoy many of the vegetables and fruits we saw on the tour. It was mind-blowing to drink coffee after having just seen the coffee plants the coffee berries came from. It doesn't get more local than that! The food was very interesting, there were many ingredients the average visitor may not be familiar with (tropical fruit purees, greens, etc.) and it was very enjoyable trying out new foods that I have never even heard of! The chef himself presented all of our dishes and you can tell he had such a passion for the ingredients and sharing them with us. All the farmers and staff we met on the farm were super friendly, welcoming and kind. It felt like a place where people are passionate about what they were doing and happy and proud to share it. Disappointing accommodations I have a lot of food allergies. I'm also a private chef specializing in allergen free foods, so I know how simple it can be to accommodate needs. I booked the coffee and brunch tour and I was disappointed at the accommodations. Instead of attempting to accommodate my needs and match the quality of the meal, they just removed everything worthwhile. The menu was honeybuns sourdough focaccia with side salad frittata with veggies chocolate truffles with fruit My menu was nothing to start salad quinoa with veggies fruit For $135, I expected more effort than this. At the very least, I would have appreciated a vegan chickpea frittata or a gluten free baked good. There's very few places I can eat out, so when pricey meal experiences claim they "accommodate all dietary restrictions", I would like to be served a similar quality meal as the other guests read more

Experienced the Lunch Tour for the 2nd time and it was just as fabulous as the 1st. Beautiful farm, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the meal was simply fabulous. Great views of the island are a bonus. You won't leave hungry. The portions are more than generous. Dietary issues? No problem. Provide that info when you register and the staff reconfirms throughout the visit. Oh and do bring whatever you'd like to drink (beyond the water, coffee and tea provided). While not long, the walking tour does require a good amount of standing and walking on uneven ground. About an hour before you sit down to lunch. Only downside ... outhouses for restrooms. Hold on, my sweet tastebuds! A true farm-to-table decadent experience awaits. The experience started with an educational tour of the farm ranging from coffee growth to general horticulture practices to showcasing the variety of gorgeous edible plants thriving on the property. The upcountry climate is also a sight to behold as it's much cooler and more damp than the valley. I learned that you can get an excellent idea of the type of plant growing simply by crumpling up the leaf of any plant and smelling it. We were able to smell and taste our way through the gardens with our knowledgeable guide. The grand finale was the fruits of the harvest with about 80% of what we ate coming straight from the grounds of the farm. Our five course lunch was plated and flavored skillfully and we were speechless as we ate. O'o Farms also did a great job of strategically placing everyone according to social distancing guidelines. Please book this when in Maui. I'm still dreaming of the freshness of each course and how well each flavor was thought out in all of the dishes. read more

A tour if O'O Farm is an absolute MAUI MUST do when visiting the Valley Island. We have been visiting our home away from home----and future "retirement home" for about a decade and have had incredible culinary experiences at Pacific'o resturant numerous times. On our most recent visit in Febuary our serving mentioned their O'o Farm on Maui where 98% of their fresh produce is sourced. So on our annual 4th of July visit we made it a point to make reservations to sign up for a O'O Farm Tour. We arrived at the farm at 10:30 am on a Tuesday and was greeted by several other families and our tour guide Elizabeth. The next four hours were one of our best experience on Maui. It was educational, fun and delicious! Elizabeth is one of the farmers and originlly from Fredrickburg, Virginia but now well versed in her role at O'O Farms. She shared the history of the farm, started by the owners Pacific'o Resturant in Laihaina who search for local source of produce. After several years of searching they purchased the land and began the process of cultivating a steading, reliabke and sustainable source they could assure quality. During our "hands on" tour Elizabeth guided us from the coffee trees, citrus and 125 types leafy produce imaginable. We spoke to our chefs and gardener about the challenges and thrill on managing the farm and how they prepare our lunch. Our tour group picked our lunch salad by going in the gardens and picking spinach, chard, flowers, collards, agrugala and about 23 items while 3,700 feet high on the Maui up country. After our "Hard" working the fields we toured the coffee facility and shortly sat down to an incredible feast! We were served our hand picked salad, tofu, fish and smoked chicken. Fantastic experience! We did the breakfast tour. The tour was informative, the food was beyond delicious and the coffee was extremely tasty! There is some easy walking through the coffee orchard and to the gardens, and on a sunny day the sunscreen is needed. It did last 3 hours, and breakfast split was a little over half way during the tour. The guide was both knowledgeable and humorous, and guests are given the opportunity to taste/smell a variety of plants and herbs, plus the sweet coffee fruit!! So glad we spent the time and money to take this very different tour and experience something unique and special in Maui. read more
