We had bought before and Dino was so accommodating and understood our needs in finding a nice extra firm bed.

I was just hoping to find some organic hand lotion for a friend and I was about to give up! Lo and behold, on a pretty dish at the cash wrap, was a selection of fragrant organic hand cream! Success!!! Dorothy was a gem and we enjoyed our conversation with her! The store and walls are jam-packed with colorful Hawaiian and tropical decor! I fell in love with the gorgeous turtle pillow cover! Go and see for yourself! I'm sure you'll walk out with something special to remind you of your trip to Maui. My husband actually found some cute turtle magnets to attach to our screen door!

This store is so cute. You can get so many gifts for people whom you love or just pick something up for yourself. Today I picked up some glasses, to drink some beer or just a glass of wine. The value of things is pretty reasonable. We got some glasses (cups) for 50% off which was great. It cane out to 9.00 for 2 of them. They seem like they're pretty good. The cashier today was friendly and sweet. She wrapped up the glasses in bubble wrap. Which was going upcountry. A long drive from the store.

My most recent purchase there was a floor lamp with ceramic pole. I had to replace the lamp socket on it but still a good deal. That's probably why it was donated. Anyway, they usually have a good assortment of light fixtures, tables, chairs and small appliances. The sort of stuff that people upgrade from time to time. They also are a good source of building materials that are left over from jobs the contractors finish. It's hit or miss whether you find the type or quantity of materials you need, but it's still a good place to check if you're about to start a project. We were there recently, to drop off a couple boxes of floor tile and some used copper tubing. I hope someone can use it. There's a small parking lot beside the building. Be really careful there because you might not have much time to react when someone backs out without looking. I had to use my horn, first time in years!

We brought his nephew along and found some decent things for his apartment - a mid century side table for $50. They had so many huge furniture decor pieces and prices were pretty reasonable. Also tons of art and housewares. Our local family didn't even know this place existed but now that they do, they've told us they will be coming back. Definitely check this place out if you are looking for furniture and/or home decor on the island.

IMHO I love shopping…read moreyard sales, and thrift shops. I brought of a list of Maui thrift stores to check out if I had the time. As it so happened, I forgot to pack a few items, so I had the opportunity to check out The Salvation Army Family Thrift Store on Shaw St. Parking was minimal so my husband dropped me off while he waited for a closer spot. God is good, one appeared in a few minutes. We were warmly welcomed with aloha! I was hoping to find some tropical treasure that was lightweight enough to bring home, perhaps some garden art sculpture, but really anything that caught my eye. Nothing screamed "take me home" but I did find a curling iron marked for $2. Yes, I forgot to bring mine from home, so this was a definite deal. My hubby found a pair of tropical swimming trunks! He thought its price tag was $10 but after I checked our receipt, I realized we were charged only $4 for it! Yahoo! We paid only $6.25 for our two items! Thank you Salvation Army for your friendly service! We'll be back! Aloha!

So I took a stroll in the book area and found a couple I may not have read. I saw a lot of Hawaiiana things. A good supply of Aloha shirts. Nothing for me. But I have bought here before. Once I picked up a all iron skillet with rust that I cleaned up and used for a year. Pretty good 5.00 item. Lots of Aloha Spirit in here. The clerk was incredibly polite. Mahalo
