This store is my GO TO when I need to remodel. I am a real estate investor/decorator and it is so nice to have a store (especially on the West side ) that has a variety of items to make my projects look fabulous! Sharon has always gone absolutely above and beyond to help me!!!! I come in like a wrecking ball and Sharon keeps track of everything I want! They have amazing taste in this store. Flat out liars!! Reiterated numerous times I did not want the floor model sofa. Sharon assured me they had a couple in the warehouse. Delivery drivers arrive at my house with an unwrapped sofa. I asked one of the delivery guys if this was the floor model. He was reluctant to tell me, and deferred me to the second delivery guy. The second guy related the sofa they had was indeed the floor model. Immediately called Sharon who flat out lied to me, basically telling me she never said they had warehouse stock of this sofa. She played the apologetic misunderstanding card, just more lying. We are knee deep in COVID, the last thing I wanted in my house is the floor model. They did offer to clean the 5 grand sofa to salvage the sale, but I declined and was given a refund. They did not refund the delivery charge. Small claims court issue. Get everything in writing before you purchase it. read more

Poor Customer Service!!!! Three employees saw me and not one asked if I've been helped. One rep was actually in the middle of a sale, one walking around, & one sitting behind a computer. I asked the one walking around for information and she told me she would be back because she was helping someone else. She disappeared and never came back. The sad part was that there were only two customers in the store, me and the other that was already being helped. This is the only furniture store in Lāhainā and I would rather drive 30 miles to the opposite side of the island to buy furniture. I was born and raised here. If they were more friendly, I'm pretty sure more local people would buy from this store. But it seems like they are doing well with the non-local part time residents. read more

Been in the store several times looking for a sectional couch in particular. They have some very lovely things and a lot of variety. Walking in there was absolutely no greeting. Not even acknowledgment that we walked in, didn't look in our direction and didn't turn and smile. They also seem bothered when asked questions. Walking up the stairs seems to make them irritated. Ask the wrong question, and you will get a snippy reply. The workers put out airs that they are above every everyone else. I wouldn't say rude but very close to it and uncomfortable feeling. Almost bought a couch there. Because of the unfriendliness and not wanting to walk in there again, we bought a less expensive sectional couch, made just as well or better, that we like just as much, purchased somewhere else. read more

Ordered my bed about 2 months ago. Alana told me that it would take 2 weeks. It took a month. She called me to tell me that they received the container about 3 weeks ago and that she wanted to set up delivery. I told her the soonest possible day and time would be great. The delivery never came. She never called me to say there wouldn't be a delivery. She called me today a month later and said if I wanted to schedule a delivery date and time she would be in the store all day. ???? I stopped her and said that I thought she was going to deliver it 2 weeks ago. She said something happened with the container so that's why she "went dark". I told her I wanted to schedule asap, she said her first available was on 2/10. She said her availability filled up 1 1/2 weeks ago. ??? Now I'm confused and frstrated!! I was supposed to be delivered 2 weeks ago and now she's saying that her delivery calendar filled up 1.5 weeks ago and I didn't get a spot for delivery. She told me that she tried to call on Sunday to reconfirm. And today she wants a 3rd confirmation that I WANT MY FURNITURE DELIVERED ASAP!!! read more

With all due respect to previous reviews, I feel like this store is just FULL of aloha!!!!! I came in needing to furnish a condo in two days and Jean totally bent over backwards to make sure everything was right with my order. She must have taken a dozen phone calls (or more). When the furniture was delivered by her awesome crew (it included a sofa bed which must have weighed a thousand pounds) I was totally impressed with the quality and beauty of what we chose. One thing about minds eye is that they have a lot in stock and they have traditional stuff as well as contemporary stuff. They have excellent quality but also they have great VALUE which isn't always easy to find on Maui.. Mahalo Jean and Minds Eye! I love absolutely everything!!!! read more

The staff is super nice and attentive when needed and allows for browsing when yuou don't. There is a nice selection of accessories and furniture - some very reasonable and some very expensive. I called (9/25/17 -12:54pm) just to get an approximate size of a mirror i'm lookin for and the lady Pat was very unfriendly and she just rush me off the phone coz she was helping other customer. She could not even take my phone as curtesy to call me later? I would not recommend this furniture store. I wish There will be more furniture stores that will come and compete with them. When furnishing my newly purchased vacation rental in Kihei, We were having trouble finding well made, nice looking pieces on island. Sharon at The Mind's Eye was awesome in showing us a great selection of queen sleeper sofas, coffee & end tables. We ended up returning a few days later to also purchase a dresser and matching night stands... Sharon always listened to what we were looking for, she would show us what she had, then let us wander around as we thought it all out. This place has ZERO aloha... we walked in at noon today (11/27) and never got a single hello. Nice looking store but it was as if they didn't WANT to say hello. Very busy with other responsibilities and their paperwork at their desks. They saw us but ignored us.... for the entire twenty minutes we were there. We walked all three floors though and noticed it's the same type of furniture throughout the store. Same way too-firm, uncomfortable foam stuffing in every seat and sofa, or so it seemed. Prices WAY too high too. Noticed a lot of the same complaints on other Yelp reviews. Who's running this place? Rather than Mind's Eye, I'd call it Blind Eye. Very unpleasant experience visiting Minds Eye this week. My mom and I were in the store for at least 40 mins., walked all 3 floors, found a few things I seriously was interested in, as they were having their annual anniversary sale. We come over to Maui 2-3 times a year to stay and check up on our beach front condo. My intention was to purchase new beds, 1King & 2 Queens including head boards. Not one sales person greeted us or asked if we needed assistance. In fact, one sales agent walked right in front of me, almost stepping on my foot, if I hadn't moved out of her way. She appeared to be engrossed in conversation with a coustomer. My mom sat down in a chair that would have gone nicely in the sitting area of the master bedroom, we would have needed two chairs. One of your sales ladies said to my mom..."you are waiting for someone, right?" My mom replied, "yes my daughter." I glanced over to where my mom was and the look on her face told me she was ready to leave. I regretfully must admitt that I have bought numerous items from Minds Eye, but the way my mom & I were treated yesterday, I shall never step foot in that store again. We immediately left Minds Eye and drove directly to the mattress store and bought 3 new beds, encasements and bed frames. Whatever happened to customer service, certainly Minds Eye doesn't believe in providing the service. I'm so glad I didn't purchase my Tropitone patio furniture from Minds Eye either. Buyers and shoppers beware, avoid Minds Eye and shop else where, you'll be glad you did. One last comment, I called the store on Saturday and spoke to Pam. She took down the information regarding replacement glass for my table and said she would call back. It's been almost 6 days now, and I have not heard from her. Delivery service is not good!!! We purchased a piece of furniture on a Saturday and were told it would be delivered the following Thursday. We called to see what time the delivery would be and were told the truck was full and couldn't be delivered until the following Thursday. The day of the delivery we still hadn't received a call with a delivery day or time. We called for a delivery time and were told they would call 1/2 hour before arrival, but couldn't give specific time window. We ordered a mattress from a competitor, they called two days before the scheduled delivery with a day and time! That's what you would expect for deliveries. read more

A very long story short. I cancelled an order after paying and setting up delivery and set up of a 5' x 7' mirror. One week after purchase phone call #1 stating they will not hang the mirror it was a contractors job. I made other arrangements for the hanging. Two days later a phone call telling me they would be delivering the mirror in 3 days. The day before delivery they call and tell me the mirror is boxed and crated and they do not remove the item upon delivery. I told them that was unacceptable for me to be expected to sign off on a delivered item totally uninspected. She then said she would speak to the owner. Ten minutes later I get a call stating the owner will not budge on his decision. I cancelled the order. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Yes, a lot of inventory but unless you take the item with you ....... I thought I'd give Mind's Eye another try as I've had horrible customer service before. But, its tough as they have the best assortment of tropical items on the Island. I was just as disappointed as the many other times before. I arrived at 4:30, and was unable to purchase anything as they had already closed out their till for the day. My wife wanted artificial flowers for a new vase, that she had bought. We went to The Mind's Eye in Lahaina Maui, to see what they had. We picked out some flowers that were close to what my wife had in mind. An employee named Sharon helped us at the register. My wife asked Sharon if we could bring the flowers back, if they didn't go with the new vase. Sharon said, " what, you can't tell that now?" Sharon seemed disgusted with the question. I wanted to walk out on sharon, but we knew that we would have to drive to the other side of the Island, to find anything close to what we wanted. Customer service is lacking at The Mind's Eye and there furnishings are rediculously expensive. That's what I think. read more

I have gone in there with a particular item or need in mind which I have shared with one or more persons working there and there is little to no assistance! I do agree the prices are pretty crazy and their Big Annual sale is misnamed to say the least. I believe that place would do twice the business if they really had an interest in helping customers. I had a very disappointing experience. I purchased two lamps, it took over 45 minutes for the lamps to arrive for pickup. The sales person repeatedly said it will be just a minute "we are getting new ones in a box" I finally asked for a refund and they brought me two unwrapped/boxed and took the shades off the floor display. Wish I could give negative stars. Nasty, nasty attitudes from the workers. We have bought furniture and interiors from them for years to furnish 5 condos on Maui and have had to deal with poor customer service the entire time. After dealing with mattress deliveries this month we have finally decided to stop giving them the benefit of the doubt and will never use them again. There is no excuse for them to treat anyone, much less long time customers like us, the way we were treated over a simple mattress delivery. Sharon is the worst, stay away from her if you can. We will be furnishing a new condo this year and have decided to take our business to Kimo's and Lifestyle Maui. Wonderful customer service at those places! read more

Jean was so amazing with helping decorate our vacation rental at the Maui Eldorado D203. She really knew how to bring the finishing touches to make our place have a beach house feel. The colors are spot on and the furniture is very comfortable. Everything from the beautiful ceramic lamps that really pop color to the artwork that bring in our ocean theme. Everytime I go into Mind's Eye, Jean is able to help us find exactly what we want. There's so much selection of everything on the 3 floors of furniture, artwork and decor to tropical plants that look real. We loved it so much we had Jean help us decorate another unit! Bought a couch here two years ago for $2000. We treated it very gently but the fake leather is literally disintegrating now - the upholstery is falling apart and litters our carpet daily with flakes of material. I expect such an expensive couch to last longer. read more
