Maui Blooms is amazing! My boyfriend and his family were on a trip to Maui (that I had to skip due to work. Boo.), so I wanted to send them a bouquet of local flowers to remind them that I wish I could be there and that I was thinking of them. I shopped around for florists online, and found Maui Blooms' prices to be, by far, the most reasonable. I placed an order for a $50 arrangement, and, given my previous experiences with florists, I expected that that price may get me one or two flowers and some shrubbery. A few hours after I placed my order, I called Maui Blooms, just to verify that everything was in order. The lady with whom I spoke could NOT have been sweeter or more pleasant. She wished me a Merry Christmas in Hawaiian, and laughed along with me when I replied, "Um...you too? I think? What does that mean?" She thanked me profusely for my order (in Hawaiian, of course. Loved it.), and said that they were about to close for the day, but if it was really important, she would be willing to send someone out with the delivery that day. How nice is that??? I assured her that the next day was just fine. She then told me that the personal message I had written to be included with the arrangement was a little long for the small note cards they usually attach to their flowers, so she was going to PERSONALLY TYPE IT UP AND PRINT IT OUT. What?!?! Really?!?! Maui Blooms really has this customer service thing down, and many other businesses could learn a lot from them. Small acts of kindness and accommodation are the things that motivate me to continually patronize a business for years. Anyhoo, when I got a picture of the arrangement from my boyfriend, I was beyond pleasantly surprised. It was huge and gorgeous, and much more than I expected for the money I paid (see picture). They included the printed note I had written the family, as well as one of their usual notecards inscribed, on my behalf, "Aloha, From Lindsay". So adorable. I don't live anywhere near Maui, but should I ever again have the occasion to purchase flowers there, I will march my happy ass straight to Maui Blooms. I brought my Mother to Maui for her 80th Birthday and brought her sister (My Aunty) as well. It was both their first time to any island in Hawaii and I was able to spoil them with great accommodations, dinners, a Luau, shopping and even matching pineapple tattoos. Less than a week prior to coming to Maui I thought to have 4 flower arrangements delivered to the condo. I used Yelp to find a few florists to get a quote and Maui Blooms was my second to call and after speaking with Sandy I was sold. Sandy was more than helpful and her and her designer came up with two gorgeous large arrangements and two gorgeous small to medium arrangements. Maui Blooms was also able to deliver into our condo before we arrived so it was so nice to walk into condo with such beautiful local flowers. A couple days before we arrived Maui Blooms also accommodated us with two beautiful leis and one Kukui Nut lei as well. The arrangements lasted the entire 7 days that we were there and decided to leave them for the housekeeping staff. Thank You Sandy and Maui Blooms for making our stay even more special. read more

Maui Blooms delivered a order to one of the owners in a gated community that I manage, the delivery driver was exiting the property and pushed the exit gate with her car breaking the gate. When I called the business to let them know what had happened I was told the driver thought the gate was broken and was in a hurry because she had a lot of deliveries to make since it was the week of Mothers Day, I was told I would get a call back after Mothers Day but I still haven't heard from the business yet. I called and left a message and e-mailed and get no response. We have it all on video footage and made a police report yet the business owner refuses to pay for the damaged caused. Steer clear, especially on Mother's Day weekend. Their website says they've been in business since 1987 yet they don't have a good system down for filling orders and deliveries on Mother's Day weekend. Paid $40 for delivery, talked to someone on the phone to confirm the delivery will be made on Mother's Day, only to get it delivered on the Friday before. Thankful they came through with the delivery fee refund; they said they've "learned their lesson" with overbooking that weekend. Any American can tell you Mother's Day is the busiest time of year for florists, hire extra help. Our mother was not happy with the arrangement either. Un-bloomed flowers, accent plants that looked like weeds. Disappointed. read more

She was very patient, and guided me toward a simpler design, which encourage my thinking processes: hey, people, calm down. You (my family) are making this FAR TOO stressful for a high school graduation.... In the end, the Ti leaf lei was exquisite, and although not as costly, or memorable as a maile lei (there ARE cultural reasons to prefer the maile over Ti leaf in certain situations), the lei was STILL beautiful and well-done. read more

Beyond disappointed with the recent arrangement I received as a gift, as well as with the complete neglect of customer service. My son spent what I imagine was a lot of $$ to get an arrangement delivered before Christmas, and within a day it started to die off! The ginger and birds of paradise blackened/died almost immediately, and the orchids fell apart soon after. My wedding bouquet looked like a piece of garbage so to say the least. Aside from the fact that it was sparse and bare, there were stems showing where ribbon did not cover nor did the crystal band. I had explained initially that my Mom was a floral designer and we had extremely high expectations of what Maui Blooms Designer could do with my florals. I sent numerous pictures with the exact look that I wanted and they simply had to copy it. They assured me that they would be fabulous. This brings me to my next let down- the bouttaineres. It was discussed that all mens bouts would have wired seashells. Only the grooms bout had them and they weren't even the right placement, not to mention that the flower was in poor shape.I asked for the remainder of the seashells that I had mailed them prior be mailed back to me and that was never done. 6 months later and I have yet to see a single seashell. I also had not one petal on the cake table as I had requested and paid for. We ended up taking apart my bouquet to use for the cake to execute the vision that I had wanted and had also paid for. My personal flowers were ruined. I opted to carry the MOH's bouquet because I was embarrassed for all wedding associated vendors to see my bouquet. My coordinator was appalled and embarrassed for me. Bad. Tried calling multiple times for four days. I had placed an order to be delivered on the 11th of November, which is a holiday. Other florists had this day blacked out on the delivery page of their website, but not Maui blooms! SOOOO I assumed they would be delivered on that date, my sisters birthday. Couldn't contact anyone to confirm.. and then surprise surprise they arrive the day after.. I didn't want them if they weren't going to arrive on the exact date. Maui Blooms created a magnificently beautiful arrangement which was delivered in time on a Sunday and greeted my love when she walked into her hotel room. I order flowers on each of her trips and this arrangement used native flowers which was a nice departure from commonly available arrangements. There was confusion as the front desk told me the flowers had not been delivered even though they had been in the room already and the owners of Maui Bloom returned my message and were super friendly. I also disagree with the bad comment, to each they're own. Not everything can work out, for my wife and I we had them do all of out flowers. They did they bouquets, over 25 flower leis, all of the table center pieces, and they came out and hand made a flower circle that we stood in to get married. They communicated with us on everything, they weren't late, the flowers were fresh, and they nailed exactly what my wife wanted for her purple Calle Lilly bouquet. I used Maui Blooms for my elopement this August. Sandi was so great - I chose to carry a single king protea instead of a traditional bouquet, and even though they are out of season in August, she managed to find one for me! I was so pleased. Ordered flowers on line for delivery the next day. Got a call the next day that they couldn't guarantee delivery that day and there would be an additional $20 delivery charge. I told her that I would pay the $20 but wanted a guarantee that the flowers would be delivered that day. She agreed. Then I received a call back and she said she would not do the flowers and gave me then telephone number of another florist. She said she would refund my Paypal and not charge me for the $20. She was rude and acted like she was doing me a favor for delivering a $75 order of flowers with an extra $20 delivery fee. Needless to say, I do not recommend this florist. read more
